History

Established in 2001.

The William&Joseph Gallery opened June 8, 2001 in the famous French Quarter of New Orleans! We relocated to Santa Fe in October, 2005 following Hurricane Katrina. W&J features an eclectic collection of contemporary art, including encaustic pieces, oil on canvas, blown glass and metal sculpture. We are a member of the Glass Alliance of New Mexico and also host a Summer Artist Workshop. This gallery shows only original works of art — no giclees and no reproductions.

I’ve known the owner of this place since before she owned it. She loves, lives and breathes art and the bringing of same to the rest of us. She describes each piece, the artist who created it, and understands very well that the ownership of fine art is a personal, and individual experience. The owner and staff are friendly, down to earth and genuinely want you to love what you buy. If you don’t buy, that’s ok too. They’ll make you feel just as welcome if you’re browsing as if you’re buying. Definitely worth a stop in if you’re in Santa Fe. AND, may I mention, it’s the premier place to procure works by Barrett deBusk, one of the great artists of our generation.

This gallery owner did not follow through on, or live up to a consignment-​commission-​agreement for a particular item. Furthermore, the gallery-​owner then chose to not return phone calls and redress the situation is a professional manner. My consignment experience with the William & Joseph Gallery was very negative.
