Thai Cafe

No. No. No. Without a doubt this is the worst Thai food Ive ever had. No joke, it was really bad. Started with tom yum soup and it was so hot that we couldn’t finish it. We ordered it mild so I would hate to try the hot version.
The Pad Kee Mao was just gross. Nothing like any I’ve had before. In fact, I thought they gave me the wrong order. I was assured that it was my order. I couldn’t finish it because it was so nasty. In addition, Pad Kee mao should have wide, flat noodles-​this version was more like linguini. I can’t tell you what a disappointment this was. Never again.

Great service and great food. The waitress was so helpful and attentive. A most do when in Santa Fe.

I have been there several times always thinking that it’s a fluke each time I go. Evidently is not a fluke that they only have one waitress for the whole restaurant… after sitting for 15 minutes evidently invisible I got up and left. I will never return to this restaurant!!!

Upon entering and waiting in the entryway for 5 minutes, a young man appeared. Using grunts and Frankenstein like gestures, he grabbed menus and started walking away. I tried to ask him if we seat ourselves but Language was clearly not in his bag of tricks, and we just decided to follow him and find a table. Once seated, 10 minutes went by before my sweet little angel of a girlfriend who has 15+ years in the service industry, went to the back kitchen to search for signs of life. She was successful and brought back our waitress. We ordered everything at once since this place clearly doesn’t believe in expedient service. We ordered 2 glasses of wine, Tom Kha Gai with chicken, and red curry with shrimp to share. When our wine came, one glass was heavy poured while the other was tremendously under. When we brought it up to the waitress she showed a sharpie lined glass and said this is what we use to measure and left it at that. Eventually another waitress, which I can only assume was the first waitresses sister, brought us what she described as «uhhh soup.» The soup was basically coconut milk with some onions and a sliver of chicken. When the red curry came out, i assumed it would be, well, red curry. It seemed to be a basic watery Yellow curry with about 3 small shrimp. Everything was disappointing. We asked for the owners info to pass along our concerns, but apparently the owner doesn’t take calls from customers. Everything said, this was the worst Thai food and service I’ve ever had.

Don’t do it. Food is not very good and service is slow. Too expensive for the quality.

Quite possibly the worst Thai meal I’ve ever had. The Pad Kee Mau appeared to be made with boiled noodles from Ta Lin (just down the street from Thai Café). My spouse ordered spring rolls with shrimp. The rolls consisted of little more than rice wraps and cabbage with one tiny shrimp half per roll.

Most likely the worst dinner I have ever had! From them charging us for water (Yes that right $ 1.95 each) that we did not even ask for, to the frozen egg rolls that were well past their prime cold potstickers and to top it off the plumbing snake resting quietly behind our table we were well quite unimpressed with the evening.
I would recommend road kill before this place!!!

Upon entering the restaurant, we were received by a snark wielding grumpy person who was subsequently our grumpy unhappy waitress. The food was mediocre at best, the service was worse, and they charge for even tap water. Seriously — do not ask for water unless you want to be charge 1.95 for tap water. Also, they force feed a tip, refuse to split the check, and charge tax on the included tip. So not legitimate was for more than just the $ 2 tap waters, but taxing us on the tip is just bogus.
I have to say that this is the worst Thai food I have had, and coupled with the poor attitude makes for a winning combination of «Highly not recommended.»
And to just add to the flavor of our experience, their was a toilet snake placed strategically next to our tables. Classy.

Great delicious Thai food with generous portions and excellent service. I will return!

Best Thai food in Santa Fe. My advice is to keep the heat level down to medium, because the hot is super hot. I have no idea how someone would ever be able to eat the thai spicy. I had a chicken stir fry that was pretty darned good. Place is downtown, so convenient.

Not bad, pot stickers were good, 0pineapple fried rice was a disappointment they used what appeared to be canned pineapple. Sad…

The spring rolls fell apart as soon as I picked them up. My partner’s Tom yum soup had a tiny metal piece of something in it. I think that’s enough to say that we won’t be coming back ever again. I’ll be posting pictures if I can figure that out.

The prices were ridiculous and the portion sizes were minimal. If Im going to pay $ 30 for a take out lunch for 2 I want to be awed! My husbands meal was gross, the beef looked like a combo of flank & ground beef mixed into something that tasted horrible. I never thought Id have bad Thai but not only is the atmosphere inside cheap and tacky the food isn’t cheap but tastes like it. What a bummer

I had almost given up on finding good Thai in Santa Fe, but this place is the bomb! You walk in to a cozy, colorful dining room with little details everywhere. Our server was a doll and very knowledgeable about the menu. We kept it simple, Thai iced coffee, fried veggie rolls, and Pad Thai. I like to judge a place by some classics to see if I want to go deeper into the menu on later visits.
All three choices were some of the best I had ever had. The coffee had the perfect balance of strength and sweetness. The rolls were crisp without being too greasy, and the sweet sauce they were served with… I wanted to drink it. Then came the Pad Thai. Lots of crunchy bean sprouts, carrots, and peanuts on the sides to be mixed in as you wish. The noodles weren’t drowned in sauce but had this perfect tangy smoky taste that you don’t find many places.
We are definitely going back… the fried banana egg roll dessert is a-​callin’ my name :)

The «thai spicy» is super spicy, my friend could not finish her dish.
Lunch set has a very reasonable price.

Please, save yourself and don’t eat here. We made the mistake last time we were in Santa Fe of eating here and sadly… made the same mistake again. The food was barely mediocre. Not only was the food disappointing, but they only had one waitress who knew nothing about the food. Granted she had way too many customers to take care of, but she moved at a snails pace… lieterally. She couldn’t have walked any slower. She was apathetic seemed to have no customer service training. They were also unwilling to make adjustments to the food to accommodate one of our guests diet restrictions. I would give this place a 0 if I could.

Our waitress was great. She was friendly and helpful. However the service was slow and at one point the piano-​player had to come over and ask us if we needed anything because another waitress ignored us.
Food was mediocre. The fried veggie egg roll appetizer was nice but the entrees (pad thai with shrimp and spicy flat noodles) were overly sweet. The portions were good-​sized, but we expected better for the price. The shrimp beyond over-​cooked. Think beef.
Our desserts (banana egg roll and black sticky rice with coconut milk) were tasty but the presentation was nothing special.
Overall the restaurant had a nice feel but you can get better in Santa Fe.

We started out thinking we’d dine in for dinner, but the strangely quiet dining room (no music, few chatting diners) scared us off with our little ones. And the ambience certainly doesn’t offer a ton of incentive to stay. But the take out was solid — the Thai hot papaya salad delivered and the mussaman curry is great. Not a lot of room for special requests, which was a little challenging with tots, but we made it work.

Fast and friendly service. I had the papaya salad which was fresh and the spring rolls which were warm, crisp and tasty with a sweet and hot sauce.
The coconut ice cream which was homemade topped off a fine Sunday meal. The décor of the joint is simple but clean. Great for families, couples and dining alone. Highly recommended. The only downside is the entrance can be a little cluttered but if you are here looking for good simple Thai or vegetarian options in Santa Fe, look no further.

Thai Café, what can I say. You are the best Thai food in Santa Fe.
That being said, you are also only one out four Thai food serving restaurants in town.
Your place is cute and old adobe, but with nice flashy colors inside.
Your food is good but your prices are inching up towards (the ridiculous) Moodoo prices. You could also add a little more curry to the curry, just saying its a bit shallow.
Overall…
I like you Thai Café.
