Established in 2000.

I knew I did not want to practice law because I did not like the system. I finally got trained in mediation, arbitration and facilitation. These forms of dispute resolution focus on empowering individuals, making sure each person is heard and helping the individuals to arrive at a solution that works for them. So much better than litigation!

I was trained in the law at UC Berkeley (Boalt School of Law). I knew before I graduated that I did not want to engage in a traditional law practice. I used my skills to get a variety of analytical research/​writing jobs. Then a friend kept telling me about mediation. I tried it as a participant and could see its value. I got trained in 2000 and now have done over 600 cases of all types and have at least 600 hours of training as well.

It is satisfying to me to see people communicating better and creating their own solutions.
