History

Established in 1992.

High Desert Healthcare & Massage was founded by four massage therapists – Catherine Peck, Jill Gerber, Julie Strassburger and Tracy Conrad – in 1992 as a group practice. It has since grown to a thriving massage and bodywork clinic with over 20 therapists, but the founding idea remains the same: To provide exceptional therapeutic massage and bodywork for both relaxation and pain relief in a comfortable, professional environment, while keeping prices as low and affordable as possible.

A few years back, High Desert expanded by opening second location in the community of Eldorado, about 20 minutes outside of Santa Fe.

The owners of High Desert are very selective about the therapists they hire, and they believe that this little gem of a massage practice has some of the best massage therapists around. Everyone at High Desert is uniquely gifted at what they do and loves their work. This shows in every aspect of the business and comes through in every treatment we give.

I have had the pleasure of working as the manager of High Desert Healthcare & Massage since 2003. In that time, I have truly learned and grown as a person from working alongside the three wonderful women who are the owners, and from watching the care and integrity with which they interact with each other, their clients, and their employees, and with which they run their business. All the therapists here are committed to and love what they do, the quality of their work is unsurpassed, and they are a constant inspiration to me (also, they will usually rub my shoulders pretty much any time I ask, which makes working with them even better).

High Desert is one of those genuinely special places that feels more like a family than just a job. I always feel cared for and appreciated here. As the person who greets just about everyone who calls or walks through our door, it is my hope to be able to extend that welcoming warmth to them and let them know that they’ve chosen the right place!
