I’ve eaten here only twice and the first time was only because I had a Groupon. I decided to give it another try today because it was close to my partner’s work, but it was exactly like my previous visit: poor. I got the steak torta and the bread and avocado were great, but that’s what the whole sandwich tasted like. The steak was cut into super small pieces and didn’t seem like it was seasoned, so I couldn’t taste it at all. Even when I deliberately ate the meat by itself it still tasted like nothing. That, and the green chile was not hot at all. My partner got the chicken burrito combo and same thing: small pieces of unseasoned, bland meat and the whole burrito just tasted like beans and avocado. The food is bland, rice and beans are lukewarm. Very boring. It tastes like white people Mexican food. I only gave it 2 stars because the limeade and the torta bread were good.

Want to give it 4.5 if I could. Take all the speed and ease of ordering from a fast food restaurant and add the quality of a local Mexican restaurant and you get Felipe’s Tacos. Very reasonably priced tacos and burritos, which were filled to the brim with meat. The red salsa served with the meals was exceptional. Basic seating and tables encourages you to get in and get out quick, something I wish I could do more often.

I used to live in Santa Fe and spend a few weeks there a few times a year. In fact, I was there this last week and as is my habit, stopped by Felipe’s on my way out of town for a «No Carne Burrito» with extra avocado. Felipe’s has been my mainstay for about ten years. I LOVE them. I LOVE the no carne(& no, I’m not a vegetarian, but I have a grand love for fresh, simple, vibrant food). Hubby is a more savory food lover and he loves the Adovada. Kids love the quesadillas and the grande burrito. The salsas are great(fresh, flavorful). I highly recommend them. I like a lot of the long standing NM fast food joints, but Felipe’s is my favorite(they use a higher quality meat — which means I can pilfer some of my family’s food and enjoy it even more). A touch more expensive, but still cheap!

There is no other place I’d rather eat at in town when it comes to good, fast, Mexican food. I’ve been eating here for three years and I have never been disappointed. It’s consistent, clean and affordable. I would always recommend eating here if you’re on the go or just want to dine in.

Was not impressed at all with food or service. Had the taco plate and a few pollo asado tacos on the side. No beverage and was about 16 dollars. Waited about 20 min for food

Just went and had lunch at Felipe’s Tacos and found a couple of black hairs in our enchiladas and the food was below par … Lukewarm beans and rice and enchiladas the lettuce on the plate was old and brown and fermented it tasted awful I’ve eaten here before many times, but this is the worst food I’ve ever had at Felipe’s and then to find the hairs in the enchiladas!!! We will never go back it was disgusting and they didn’t even offer to make it right!!! Also I ordered a breakfast torta and I got some sandwich on Bollilo bread!!!

The limeade — amazing. The poco — delicious. Everything else was really bad. My taco meat was inedible in my opinion. Chips were store bought. Seems like they do a few things well and the rest is really not very good.

Fresh cheap and no nonsense. My husband used to hit this place up in college and they had a salsa bar at that time. No longer! It’s okay, get a classic burrito and get red and green on the side. Utilitarian New Mexican at its finest.

Great place! We unintentionally went in only 10 minutes before they closed(5:30 on a Friday night) but Felipe was happy to serve us anyways. We had chips and guacamole(also came with salsa), horchata, limeade, shrimp tacos and fish tacos. Everything was delicious and came out in a timely fashion. Thanks Felipe! We’ll be back!

The food is edible but quite bland. It reminded us of Moes(the chain). The salsa bar was a mess with some toppings all over and some bowls empty. The fish tacos were bland and so watery they fell apart. The green salsa labeled hot was not hot. The taco combo was mediocre. The side salad was shredded iceberg lettuce with chopped tomatoes. The beans tasted as though they came out of a can. I give it two stars because the limeade is very good. While not terrible I would not go ever again.

Felipe’s Tacos are the only business(not including fast food) in town where you can still get a good lunch for under $ 10. Fresh, fast and delicious with a salsa bar. I love the fresh limeade and soft tacos.

I felt very welcome here, nice people. Yummy tostadas, rice & beans, limeade is perfect, tasty salsas. Have been looking for a straight up Mexican taqueria, this is the place.

We had a Groupon which was good, but the place closes at 5:30 sowe were too late at 6 for dinner one night. We got carry out the next night — steak burrito combos. The rice was inedible and the burritos had a tablespoon of meat in them. No cheese either, just beans. Forget this place!

Best burritos I’ve had in Santa Fe. Felipe is always very nice and offers suggestions and tells you what’s new on the menu. The salsa verde is great. The chorizo breakfast burrito is fantastic. Quality homemade food without the typical Santa Fe price. I always take visitors here over a tourist trap like Tomasita’s.

They have the best burritos in Santa Fe. Their pico de gallo is phenomenal as well as their horchata. The pricing is great for all the good tasting food you get. I would recommend anyone local or tourist that hasn’t been to Felipe’s Tacos, check it out. It has been around such a long time and one of the few places in Santa Fe that is consistently good year after year.

Not a fancy place, still they offer service with a smile + delicious and inexpensive Mexican fare. Good veggie options too… 4 thumbs up!

Felipe’s Tacos serves the best vegetarian burrito I’ve had. Huge avocado chunks, delicious proportions of ingredients, and a chili and toppings bar for full customization to your heart’s content. Also, if you’re leaning toward something on the breakfast menu and it’s not breakfast time anymore, Felipe may simply ask you, «What do you /want/?» To which your answer might be a chorizo and egg burrito; but if that’s what you want, that’s what you’ll have. Thanks, Felipe!

The quesadillas are awesome, I know that is one of the easiest things to make at home, but these guys perfected them.

I needed some tacos, but I also needed something healthy. Where to go? Felipe’s of course. This place couldn’t survive but for the food. It’s in a non-descript strip mall, almost hidden from view off of St. Mike’s on Llano St. They hardly advertise and are only open for breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday from 9am-4:30pm(as of 2÷1÷08) I walk in and place my order at the counter. The #1 Pollo Asado combo. The Pollo being charbroiled, skinless and marinated accompanied by rice, beans and salad. I place my plate down at my table and head to the fresh salsa cart. Time to eat. My fellow diners were a Sikh lady and a scruffy, bundled up old gent. This was right at closing time, otherwise it would have been packed. This is obviously a locals joint. It is also good for vegetarians, or so say the Sikh.
