Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

Exceeded my expectations! Hotel was clean and comfortable, room was large, and the front desk agent, Tapas, was very courteous on the phone and welcoming when we arrived. He even remembered me by name on my second day, which I really appreciated. This hotel is also located near many restaurants, stores, and a gas station. We enjoyed our stay.

Looking for a clean, no frills, and reasonably priced place to stay? Come here. I can’t compare the Econo Lodge to other places (resorts) I have experienced. It’s in a different class. I will say this for sure. The location is great if you want to run around the Santa Fe area (10 minutes). And, it was within 45 minutes of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta area (and Albuquerque proper).
1. Room was small but it was clean and perfectly functional, with a comfortable bed, flat screen tv and a desk
2. Manager/​owner was very nice and accommodating
3. The other help was very nice and accommodating
4. The pool and spa were clean and inviting (I am a phobe about dirty pool/​spa areas)
5. Light breakfast was complimentary in the mornings. Cereals, juice, yogurts, toast, and a waffle maker. Plus the usual coffee, teas, etc. It was nice to have this available so we didn’t have to find yet another restaurant each morning.
6. I noticed that the other people staying here were very courteous and quiet (no slamming of the hotel room doors which pisses me off to no end).
7. The price just can’t be beat!
Only negatives I found were that the bathroom was extremely small and the sink was in the room, not the bath. Has to do with the small size of the bathroom.
And, you will want to be located at the back of the motel, as there is traffic noise in the front rooms. I was offered a suite, but it was right on the street, which was too noisy for me. The room we ended up in was in the back, and it was very quiet. We even slept with the window open and had no problem with noise. There is no elevator, which is not a problem for me, but might be an issue for others (the stairway is inside the lobby, so you aren’t out in the weather).
Would this traveler come back here. I think I would. The motel may be older, but it was extremely clean, well managed and in a great location for heading out to adventures.

What can I say? The place is nice, the location is good, and the price is right.
Just off the main road that takes you directly to the heart of Santa Fe, the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites is managed and maintained by friendly staff who run a tight ship. The rooms are excellent for the price. The breakfast downstairs in the morning is held in a clean dining room, and there is even a pool and a hot tub for folks looking to unwind.
The other motels in the area could take a few notes from this place. I’ll happily stay here again if I’m ever back in town. Thank You!

Exceeded my expectations! I’ve been traveling the southwest for about a week staying at various places along the way– mom and pop hotels, motels, chain hotels, whatever you’d like to call them. My dad usually leans towards Econolodges because they’re everywhere and it’s a cheap stay; although I’ve never been fond of them, this is my favorite room so far.
King size suite with a huge TV and all of the essentials for $ 84 a night! There is so much more room in here than I expected, it’s also extremely clean and doesn’t smell like mildew unlike most of the hotels I’ve had experience with. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, only thing that I can’t make a comment on is the free breakfast. Usually the set up is something like cereal, oatmeal, bagels, muffins, toast, sometimes make your own pancakes/​waffles or even eggs or bacon or biscuits and gravy or something, with coffee/​tea/​juice included.
I’m impressed, this is a very nice place to stay for the price. We’ve been used to paying $ 100 – 160 per night, so this was a very nice find :)

This was my 18^th night on a cross country motorcycle trip. And this hotel has made it to my top three so far and it cost less than half of my top 2 places. It is very clean, modern, quiet, HBO channels to boot the beds and pillows are very comfy as well. As far as the breakfast goes I haven’t been downstairs yet to comment on that but I was so happy I stayed here I had to write this review before I headed out

Hotel is great for the price a little far from downtown but the beds are comfy pool is nice and the Manager Tapas is awesome. He is professional and helpful. We had a problem with our cable and he was on it. Changing boxes taking apart cable outputs on the wall and just a really good guy. I would recommend this place highly!

For the price, you can’t beat it. One of the cleanest places I have stayed. The staff was amazing and helped with every little thing. Decent pool for the kids and the breakfast was pretty good. I’ll stay here again. Not the most amazing hotel ever, but by far the best value. And did I mention how clean it was?!?

Location location location. Fair price, easy check in. Great location for eating and drive to DT. Big plaza close, groceries. Restaurants. What’s to complain about.

You can’t get more bang for your buck. Friendly service, typical hotel beds, all the amenities you could need, clean, quiet, free wi fi, basic complimentary breakfast and cheap. Will definitely stay here again.

Spent the night for a very good price. The room was very clean and updated. You can tell that they have done a lot of work to update the entire motel. There is a fridge and microwave in the room. I had a great sleep, bed was comfortable and there was lots of pillows. Staff is friendly. I will definitely stay here again.

The rate was good. No real complaints there. The issues started as soon as I walked in the front door.
The lobby reeks. One day it smelled of Indian (dotted, not feathered) food. Not the good kind either. Just not pleasant at all. It was like they were trying to cover it up with cleaning chemicals too.
Any other time, it smelled of hookah smoke. Don’t worry, still had the chemical over tones of trying to cover it up.
Next, the room — mine had a wet spot that never seemed to dry, TV the kept freezing up, a remote that worked only when it felt like it, and stains on the bedding.
With some reviews I’d read else where about this hotel, I’d expected quite a bit better. I wish I’d spent a bit more for a better hotel.

This Econolodge proved to be a really great place. I stayed here on 7÷02÷2013. The room the amenities, everything was beyond what I expected in terms of quality. I was not disappointed in the least bit. It’s pretty close to shopping venues and not that far from the historic downtown.

My room was clean, although I think it could have probably done with a fresh coat of paint. The shelves in the bathroom were made of unfinished wood, which I thought was sort of odd as well. It seems like that would invite mildew situations to me.
I was a little chilly, so I tried to turn on the heater in the room. Within seconds of switching it on, it smelled like burning and the smoke detector started beeping. Oops. I quickly turned it off, but I had to open the window to air out the burning smell. I told the woman at the desk the next morning and she said it was probably the first time it had been turned on this year. That was my thought also, but maybe the hotel should check the heaters throughout the year so this doesn’t happen to other guests.
It was also very easy to hear noise from the hallway. Perhaps that was just because people staying there at the same time I did were thundering down the hall and not being respectful of others, but the walls/​doors seem a little thin I could hear people in the rooms next to mine walking around and using their sinks/​hair dryers.
On the plus side, the bed was very soft and I liked that the cable remote was provided, not just the remote to the TV itself. It felt more like being at home. I didn’t partake in the free breakfast, just the coffee and ice cold orange juice. I don’t feel like the problems I had were enough for me to not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was basic and no frills, but really, you’re just there to sleep and take a shower.

I just stayed there in Aug 2012 and it was a good stay at a great price (Priceline). Here’s where I’m torn: the room was very clean and modern, it didn’t smell, the bed was comfortable, the pool was nice, the manager was extremely helpful and friendly and it wasn’t too far away from downtown. I just don’t know why i can’t give it 5 stars. It’s my first time staying in a Rodeway and I can safely say it exceeded my expectations, especially given the low rate. I thought the bathroom could have been better. Small details like poor paint job, grout missing on the tile and lackluster water pressure in the shower probably are why this isn’t a 5 star.
The breakfast isn’t much to brag about but there are too many good places to eat in town to waste it on a continental breakfast, anyways.
