Drury Plaza Hotel

The boyfriend and I took a trip down to Santa Fe for a long weekend and I couldn’t be more pleased with our choice of hotel. We’d looked at several places in the plaza area and settled on this one due to all the extras it included. All rooms came with an amazing hot breakfast (pancakes, oatmeal, eggs with available toppings, biscuits and gravy, etc) plus an evening drink and food session. Three free drinks per person (only 2 beer and 4 wine options but it’s free) plus decent food (from hot dogs and nachos to salad to pasta with meatballs). Like I said, great extras! Valet parking was extra and mandatory but almost every hotel we looked at in the plaza was.
The room we chose was a king room with walk in shower and balcony. The view from the balcony was nothing amazing but was nice to sit out on in the morning sun. I do wish it had some kind of small table to set my tea on though, it only had two chairs. The shower was large with a bench. The way the glass door was set up, it leaked water everywhere so we had to put a towel down outside of it. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows (mix of soft and slightly firmer).
Both the front desk and valet staff were very nice. There was usually someone wandering around the dining room to check on things as well. We didn’t have any special accommodations or requests so can’t speak to how they are with that.
Overall, if this is the level of quality and service you get at all Drury hotels, we would definitely stay at another one.

Its so rare to find a hotel this affordable with excellent service. Modern and clean rooms. Friendly front desk staff. The people who serve the FREE breakfast and evening meal ask what can they do better! Wow!
Cool things: rooftop hot tub and pool. Also a separate rooftop firepit and sitting area. Library reading spot. Ballroom. Modern above-​average fitness area
I paid $ 118 for a 2 queen room with a terrace.

We stayed here over Christmas for five lovely nights. We were totally pleased with the room, the ambiance and the amenities. It’s in great walking distance to the plaza and a number of restaurants and shops. The complimentary breakfast is above and beyond. The only thing we had to ask for was an extra blanket on our bed, since it was winter cold; the beds are comfy but not outfitted with a proper comforter, just a thin blanket wrapped in sheets. Also, they have pretty decent shampoo and conditioner. I typically bring my own and did not this time to find surprisingly how pleased I was with what they provided. Great value but also just a great place. We’ll be back!

All the staff members here are pleasant and accommodating. We requested a change of room, and the front desk staff did not ask why. Rather, she quickly moved us to a quieter room where we could enjoy our stay. I could give the hotel 5 stars for this alone!
The free breakfast includes sausage, eggs, potatoes, pancakes and a lot more. Additionally from about 5−7pm they have a «Kick back» time with nachos, hot dogs and alcohol for the adults. All the food is hot and delicious and a welcomed treat after a long day of travel.
Rooms were clean and spacious. The rooftop pool & spa were well maintained and pleasant.
I’ll definitely visit again.. .

What is that noise??? The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable except for the pillows. They are too short and puffy in my opinion.
The room doors are pretty heavy duty and they slam when you shut them. The people across the hall were in and out of their room all night and I was made aware of that by their slamming door. I was also woken up by a loud banging sound. It must be the boiler or elevator. I don’t know what it was, but it was loud, constant and bothersome.
I wasn’t impressed by the service at the front desk although the valet attendant was very nice and helpful. I really did wish I could just park my own car and come and go as I please without the hassle of valet.
I did get drink coupons but I didn’t come to Santa Fe to hang out at the hotel so they weren’t used. The onsite restaurant closes at 9 during the week and is not affiliated with the hotel so they wouldn’t let me take my drink to my room.
Our room had a king size bed, no separate living room or balcony for $ 200 a night plus $ 14 per day for parking. Although a lovely place, I expected a bit more for that rate. I would probably stay again for a lower rate.

Free parking. Bedrooms and bathroom were very spacious, clean and comfortable. Free warm breakfast, that was better then most paid buffets. They also offer a free dinner that is over at 7pm. One of our best hotel experiences. Staff was very friendly.

This hotel was surprisingly very nice. Didn’t expect much when I walked in but I was showered with gifts. Breakfast in the mornings, buffet style eating in the afternoons, and three complimentary alcoholic drinks per day. What hotel is doing something like this. I loved it and it he rooms are so big. Separate bedroom, living room area, and a big beautiful stand up shower. Looking for Drury everywhere I travel.

This is a great hotel! This is one of their best and most are great. Rooms are nice and spacious, great beds and linens, walk-​in shower and soaking tub. The breakfast is good for hotel breakfast and the night time food we typically don’t eat because we want to experience the cultural foods of where we visit. The free alcoholic beverages, sodas, and popcorn are always appreciated. Décor is nice, I love when they rehab/​repurpose these old buildings. YOU CANT BEAT THIS LOCATION!

The Drury is the absolute best in Santa Fe. Wow…
Location: AMAZING. Walk right out on the town, steps from historic spots, shopping and lots of food. Two parks nearby. Great location.
Hotel/​rooms: The hotel appears to be very new. The entrance is grand, parking is valet only. The rooms were fantastic. High ceilings, LARGE bathroom with separate tub and huge shower. Bed was über comfortable. Blackout curtains, AC that worked well. Silent. Hotel was very secure, key card access all over the place including hallways to rooms. Pool was on the roof and amazing as well. There was a bar up there and a spa.
Food: Wow. Wow. Kickback happy hour in the afternoons provided 3 free drinks per person and plenty of hot/​cold food. 3 free drinks. Huh??? Like bar drinks. Loved it. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of selection. The only thing they could improve on here is the eggs. There was one manager making fresh eggs constantly. As soon as the eggs made it to the serving pan they were scooped up. They need more people (hopefully not managers) making more eggs at once. But thats a small complaint for free food!
Summary: The best of our trip. In fact, Ill make it a point to try and stay at the Drury chain from now on when I can. They outdid all the others!

5:30 to 7 pm guest get 3 drinks each, wine beer or mixed drinks. Heavy snacks are enough for a dinner. The hotel was an old folks home then eventually a hospital. Now refurbished as a quality hotel. No ghost tours as the hospital morgue isn’t used as a guest room.
Hotel is a short walk to historic shopping district, about 1 block.

Over the last 20 years, we’ve stayed at all the hotels near the Plaza. A friend who lives in Santa Fe told me about the newly opened Drury Plaza, so I booked 4 rooms for our family gathering ages 6 to 70.
The atmosphere and décor are very well done contemporary Santa Fe. A large sitting area with roaring real wood fireplace welcomes guests to the reservation area. Gorgeous, warm, inviting.
We ALL loved the hotel! Each room was different (over 20 configurations since it was originally a hospital) and all were really nice. Our King room had a small separate sitting room with a balcony and a bath with nice big tub and separate shower. Grand kids room had two queens in one section and around the corner from the bath was a sitting room large enough for a roll away bed. Our daughter and two children were in a nice sized double queen with a balcony, and our son and wife were in a nice king room. Coffee maker, microwave, and small fridge were handy.
We also loved the huge dining area with included breakfast and evening snacks. Breakfast had everything we’d want — steaming eggs, sausage, potatoes… cereal, fresh pancakes, oatmeal, juices, milk, coffee. The whole family enjoyed having such choices! The late afternoon snack/​meal started with a stop at the bar for beer, wine, and drinks… followed by selections of hot dogs for the kids, chips & dips, salad fixings, chicken fingers, baked potatoes, and mac & cheese! Plenty for all of us and the kids were really happy.
The staff was wonderful, from check in to check out. Everyone welcomed us, had a smile on their face, and seemed very proud to be a part of this new hotel. The assistant manager, Andreas Kessler, seemed to be «everywhere» making sure guests were enjoying themselves. We never had a staff like this one at any other hotel near the plaza. It makes for a great stay.
The roof top pool and hot tub were a nice plus — gorgeous views of Santa Fe and the surrounding mountains. I can hardly wait to go back in warmer months and spend some time there.
Overall it was a wonderful stay and we’ll definitely go back on our next visits to Santa Fe!

After staying at this property I must admit that I am a bit upset that Drury does not have more properties scattered across the Northeast. First let me mention about the location which is nothing short of great. The location is near perfect sitting just behind St. Francis Cathedral, a block or so up from the Palace Ave. shops (former Los Alamos A-​bomb headquarters), two blocks up from the famous Loretto Chapel and the stores/​galleries lining Old Santa Fe Trail, maybe a three-​minute walk to the plaza and Palace of the Governors museum (oldest public building in the US) as well as maybe a four or five minute walk to the pleura of galleries lining Canyon Road. The entryway to the Inn is along Paseo de Peralta which also provides easy access to the state capital building and other stores and attractions in more «modern» Santa Fe.
Now the hotel itself while lacking some of the southwestern elegance that other mainstay Santa Fe hotels seem to capture, more than makes up for it by its fantastic array of modern and southwestern inspired artwork designed by local artists gracing much of the common areas. Indeed, the lobby area is quite inviting with its large fireplace, ample windows, and spacious interior setting.
The room itself was quite large and inviting with several southwestern-​inspired overtones. In addition, the bathroom was impressive due to its size and placement of modern fixtures. The shower was awesome!
Happy hour at this property I believe is from 5:30 — 7:00 pm and there is certainly enough food to help you ruin your dinner appetite, which can be a bad thing considering the pleura of great dining options in and around Santa Fe. However, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and found the bartender to be quite pleasant as well.
I always like to be fair and maybe throw in a suggestion on ways the hotel and its staff can improve for future guests but I really have no suggestions to add. Everything was great! I will certainly consider staying once again at the Drury Plaza whenever my travels bring me back to the city of holy faith.

This is an excellent example of how to update an old building. This hotel used to be a hospital in Santa Fe, and they didn’t change the shape of the building, they just renovated the rooms and interior spaces. And it looks great! There is a big hearth in the lobby with comfortable couches and chairs. The art is incredible. Right now my favorites are the bronze in the lobby and the photo of two horses in a snowstorm by the elevator.
The second floor, which is open plan — you can take a table that overlooks the lobby — is given over to tables and chairs, and this is where breakfast happens. Excellent breakfast, by the way. There is an outdoor patio with a fireplace on this level, where we enjoyed some scotch and cigars.
The rooms are newly renovated, and new matters in the hotel world. The colors are Santa Fe southwest style, the beds are comfortable and warm, the windows are original so they are a bit quirky in their placement and operation, but I wouldn’t change that. I love that this hotel has so much character. The bathrooms are stocked with plenty of towels and shampoo, etc. And it is quiet. I didn’t hear a peep from any other room and the hotel was full.
I’m withholding a star because the restaurant isn’t open and there is no bar. There is no bar! I’m tempted to give that star back, though, for the outstanding pet policy. Gus spent the night for an additional $ 10 only. That is the best deal we’ve ever had for our dog in any hotel, anywhere. The staff were great about her, too. They gave her lots of love and attention.
This building has a ton of history, and the hotel honors that by not destroying every aspect of what was here before. I’m now a Drury fan.

First time in Santa Fe, NM and the staff at Drury Suites went above and beyond their call of duty to make our stay an amazing experience. If you are looking for a relaxed hotel with a hot Breakfast and light kickback (supper) this is the place to be. Out of the many suites I’ve stayed at this is by far a great hotel and of course very reasonable pricing.
