It had been a long day and we were hungry. We drove around, looking for something to eat and had almost decided to give up and just go home. Instead, we pulled up into the parking lot, thinking about going to one of the other places in the same mall. The menu for the other place didn’t look as appealing, so we tried Cleopatra. We got a spanikopita plate and kabobs. We decided we had not had such good Greek food since our local place went out of business. If we need to be in the area again, I wouldn’t mind coming back.

I try to eat at Cleopatra at least twice a week, super affordable, good service and always very consistent. They have a good size menu consisting of appetizers, Soups, sandwiches, all sorts of Mediterranean Dinner Plates and a few salads! They also have a daily Special board which changes regularly. I normally order the Gyro with extra meat super delicious! I also love the King Tut Plate, Falafel plate and the Classic Cleopatra plate all very good and reasonably priced!

love the lamb kabobs! The Greek salad, I’ve had way better even at home. I wanted to try the Moussaka but, every time I go in they are out. The atmosphere at this location is very casual. I guess considering it’s the only resteraunt of its kind in Santa Fe, it’s good. I will continue to eat here when I’m craving lamb.

I went here based on the positive recommendations from other Unilocalers, and this is the first time I’ve been let down. Normally Unilocal doesn’t steer me wrong, and maybe I was here on an off day, but I was thoroughly underwhelmed by my $ 50 worth of food. My meat was extremely dry and the sauces were either under or overspiced. The pita bread was good, but looks store bought. The falafel was burnt and not in «classic» ball form. Tables were dirty. Food was way overpriced. Overall, won’t bother returning. There are way better Mediterranean places in New Mexico.

We eat here almost every time we are in or drive through Santa Fe because it has easy parking and is open on Sundays. My kids like the gyros and the Kefta burgers. I like the Greek salad and LOVE the Egyptian moussaka(garlic and tomato-y, not the potato-y bechamel kind). If you just get one item, no drink, it’s $, but if you get a combo plate and/or drink then it’s $$.

Three stars is generous. The food was below average and people were robotic. A smile and eye contact may help. The restaurant is spacious and the food came out quick. They have Greek and middle eastern options. There are specials posted on a board. I got the Cleopatra plate which included Shish taouk chicken, gyro, baba ganoush, Greek salad and rice. I love eggplant so I was excited to eat baba ganoush. My friend got al Maryam — gyro, hummus, and tabouli salad. The gyro was not very hot and tasted like they microwaved old gyro. It did not taste fresh. The chicken was too rich with a thick ranch like dressing. I took a bite and that was all I could stomach. The rice was excellent. The baba ganoush was the worst I have ever tasted. It was such a let down. I couldn’t even tell it was baba ganoush. It was very bitter.

My prediction was correct, good cuisine. The baklava is to die for. Definitely the best in the Fe.

The girls up front had the personalities of a cardboard box but the food was awesome! World class Lamb Gyro. Ran me $ 14 with fries and a drink so nothing crazy. Great place to get a gyro!

Amazing food! This Greek/Egyptian food was a great blend for a mature pallet that appreciates new and exotic flavors. I had the lamb chops with the Egyptian salad and a Greek dip. It was cooked perfectly and the salad was fresh and flavorful. The customer service was very good as well and helpful. This was a pass for us on our way to Colorado and I WILL be back!

One of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants, and my favorite in the Santa Fe area. I’ve had the Cairo Chicken, Nile, and Cleopatra plates. I make it a point to come here each time I’m near or in the area.

For tasty middle eastern food I enjoy coming to the Cleopatra Café, especially for their abundant«Cleopatra Plate». On Thursday nights you also get to enjoy some real fun live belly dancing with your meal. Too bad you can’t lounge on comfy pillows and oriental rugs :-) Actually the ambience of the place is more reminiscent of a box store due to its large size, instead of a cozy spot for a good meal which they certainly provide.

This is our favorite greek place in Santa Fe. Probably eat here at least 3 times in a month. Always a steady flow of traffic but never too busy to find a comfortable place to sit. I get the Al Maryam plate or the beef kabob special. The Avlogomeno is very good here too.

Food is pretty good; definitely not the best Greek I’ve had. The falafels were very dense and hard. If you order take out beware — they didn’t give us pita bread for either of our orders, and we didn’t notice until we got home.

Lamb gyros, so awesome. The resturant is large enough for fairly big groups. It’s a simple set up in the style of fast food where you order and pay at a counter then your food is delivered. The really nice thing is it is quick and the portions are a great size.

I overnighted in Santa Fe night before last, and used Unilocal to find a restaurant close to the budget hotel I stayed in, near Cerrillos and Zafarano. Cleopatra sounded appealing, so I gave it a try. I ordred the Moses Plate, comprised of a salad, lamb shwarma, hummus, and falafels. Everything was delicious!

Judging by all the favorable reviews, my guess is that many Santa Feans have not had the opportunity to eat really good middle eastern food. I’ve lived in the Middle East and traveled to several countries in the region. Cleopatra was decidedly mediocre. Spanakopita(my grandmother made the best!) had too little spinach and the phyllo was hard and chewy. Chicken gyro was moist but completely flavorless. Had to add a ton of hot sauce and tahini. Hummus was creamy but not very flavorful. Greek salad was missing onions and feta and dressing. Falafel was ok but missing spice. Tahini sauce… You could barely taste the sesame. Pita was good, fluffy and fresh. If you are dying for some middle eastern food and can’t find anything better, this might satisfy you, but I wouldn’t come back. On a positive note, they were very nice and when we said something about the spanakopita, they quickly offered to refund the cost of that item, no questions asked. For this reason, I bumped them up to 3 stars.

This place has pretty good Greek food. It has a sort of «fast casual» approach where you order at the counter. The service was friendly and exceptionally fast — I ordered take out, and was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I ordered the Cleopatra plate, which has stewed chicken and lamb gyro covered in tzatziki sauce, rice, pita with choice of hummus or baba ganoush, and a small greek salad. The greek salad was great — very lemmony and with rich, creamy feta. The rice was OK(nothing to write home about) and the hummus was good. The lamb gyro was excellent, and I will get it again the next time I return. The chicken however wasn’t my favorite, in fact I found it rather bland and dry.

Full flavor in a casual atmosphere. We had a few items that did not disappoint. — The gyro had solid flavor without being overly seasoned or heavy. — The hummus was classic and light. — Falafel had a full flavor with a hint of green in color which brought the flavor forward; no need for sauce on these! — Beef kabob was cooked just over medium well but there was a tenderness to the meat that the cooking temperature didn’t matter. This was a solid meal that I would seek out again. It’s in a commercial area so you don’t have to navigate downtown. Casual dining at its best in Santa Fe.

Always glad to find a Greek place that serves more than just gyros. We split the dolma appetizer, moussaka, and a couple falafel balls on the side. All were good. I’ve had better moussaka, but not bad. Dolmas were good, served warm.

Eat here before going to the movies! Screw the stale, overpriced, calorie and trans fat laden movie popcorn. I highly recommend the Pharaoh Plate! Boneless chicken meat marinated in herbs and spices along with copious amounts of rice(I didn’t get any) and greens. Or if you want beef, go for the Nile Plate. — It’s like your going to Egypt. Except not. You know what? Eff the movie completely(or see a later showing) and just eat here. The senseless slapstick romantic comedy you were going to see probably isn’t good anyways!
