I love healthy, fresh, natural food, and so it pains me to write this review. But when I go there, more often than not, I have to contend with the staff’s obnoxious attitudes. There was the time I ordered a green juice. The guy at the counter said, «Um, you probably won’t like that. I love it myself, but you might want to try something sweeter.» As if I don’t know my way around green juice! Why would he assume that I wouldn’t enjoy it just by looking at me – because I didn’t have an orthorexia nervosa body type? I did enjoy it, by the way, in spite of his condescending comment.
Then, a year later, I brought 3 people there for my birthday brunch. I ordered the green mango smoothie, which is made of avocado, spinach, vitamin mineral green powder, mango, and almond milk. I also ordered a piece of the raw carrot ginger cake. The green smoothie came along with my friends’ egg breakfasts. It had a horrible texture. It was like the cup was filled with hunks of green clay, so solid (not cold) that gaps of air showed through the glass. And it tasted like mud. I couldn’t taste the mango at all, which is weird, since mango has a distinctive flavor. So, when the young woman asked how everything was going, I told her that the texture was off and it didn’t taste good. I asked if she could add more almond milk and maybe mango. «Well, this is how we always make it, and we’ll have to make you a new one if you send it back, because we can’t put it back in the blender once you’ve tasted it.» She had this super cold look on her face. Um. So, I’m going to waste this food, guilt guilt… I just said, «Well, I don’t know what to say, except that I want to enjoy it… so…» and she said, «Ok, we’ll make you another one,» and took the first one away. Everyone knows that mangos and avocados can really vary in terms of flavor and texture, depending on their ripeness and all sorts of other factors. It might be a good idea to taste it before you serve it and tweak accordingly.
The smoothie maker made another one, and brought it to my table. She said snappily, «You know, it’s not supposed to be sweet.» I said, «I don’t need it to be sweet. I just need it to be tasty.» She turned away. «And I ordered a piece of cake,» I said. «Is it going to arrive?» She said, «Oh yeah, I just thought you wanted it later.» The waitress brought the cake, slammed it on the table, and when I said, «Thank you,» she rolled her eyes. Then she closed the door between the food prep area and the dining room, blocking our view, which was weird, because it had been open, and when another counter staff person arrived, he opened it right back up.
A whole lot of petty b.s. to endure just to eat healthy food – and on top of that, it’s darn pricey stuff. That’s why I am glad that Rasa is in Santa Fe too. Rasa is just as expensive, but the people are sweet, lovely, down-​to-​earth, and are happy to explain anything without ‘tude. One more thing – the raw avocado soup at Body does not taste good – and avocado is really hard to mess up.

I have been a server for 4 years this has been the worst service have experiment our waitress didn’t come to our table and greet us we have been here for 10 min and there is only 3 tables taking including my own. The good is good no doubt the atmosphere is nice but sure way to loose customers is threw bad customer service.

I’m rating it 4 stars because I’m rating yoga and food. The food deserves 5 stars as far as healthy, clean and flavorful food goes. We had spring rolls and the peanut I love you with brown rice noodles. It was delicious. We also had the carrot cake and it was awesome. The service was incredible. Now yoga. I give both classes 3 stars and they border 2 stars. The first hatha class was disjointed and uncomfortable. The instructor practiced with us and did not give alignment techniques or give modifications for people who were having difficulties with the asanas. If there had been 20 people and she was going around the room, I understand that. However, there were only 4 people. The second class, hatha flow, was very good. However, the instructor started 5 minutes late, and we had a 15 minute shavasana, just as I started getting in to my practice. So for a 40 minute practice I paid fourteen bucks. I know this is not yogi of me, but I felt cheated.

Great place for overall well-​being. Pleasant café with raw and vegan options, giant studio for movement and yoga, child care, retail for clothes and gifts.
But my greatest words of praise are for Joseph Macejka, one of the senior massage therapists, who gave probably gave the best massage I’ve ever enjoyed.
It’s not uncommon for therapists to ‘check out’ during a massage, going through the motions. Joseph not only was incredibly present, but communicated well, aware of my needs, kind enough to help. Of course, if your request is for silence, he offered that as well.
Please see Joseph for your next massage. You will not be disappointed by this kind gentleman.

Looks like my previous review has been removed. I don’t have the will to recreate it, so I’ll just point out that in the Santa Fe Reporter’s Best of 2015, BODY has been nominated for «Best Place to Meet Singles.»
They have NOT been nominated for Best Yoga.

I visit Santa Fe at least a couple of times a year, and every time I stop in at Body almost every day I am there. When traveling I like to make sure that I am eating healthy for at least a couple of my meals, so Body covers that for me. And not only is it healthy, but it’s seriously delicious! I love the Kale Caesar, the Quench Juice, the Mushroom wrap, the Raw Granola… and so much more. They also have a really great chai.
I haven’t tried their yoga classes yet, but it seems like a really popular place to take a class. I look forward to trying one the next time I am in town and not feeling so lazy.
They also have a cool retail section with lots of ethical and sustainable goods. I love the Well make up that they sell and also some of the clothing brands they carry like Raw Earth Wild Sky and Prairie Underground.
Oh, and don’t forget dessert! I’m still thinking about the raw carrot cake I had there.

This review is for a massage at BODY, by Maria M.
I went in to BODY during my vacation, sorely needing some work on my tired muscles. Maria was a miracle worker. Within a few minutes of watching me walk and assessing my posture, she had nailed every point of tightness on my unrelenting spine.
She worked on me with focus, and precision. At the same time, she was gentle, and addressed stress-​induced muscular pain, and the general idea of somato-​emotional healing. I have never worked with a therapist trained in visceral manipulation, and Maria was amazingly good and identifying and healing problems.
Maria is not your average spa massage therapist. She is a healer, and you will be privileged to have her work on your body.

Good massages but super disorganized with regards to scheduling. My wife bought me a treatment when I was in town visiting. I scheduled and checked in a few minutes early. After sitting alone in the waiting area for 30 minutes after my appointment time, the staff informed me that my therapist had gone home early. I wish they had told me before I drove over and not left me waiting like a doofus!

Great spot to eat and meet. Better choices for classes and spas but fun cool environment.

Tried this place out today on the way out of Santa Fe to CO from Flagstaff. Great food. I thought it was very flavorful and the service was great as well. I had the burrito and my wife and kids had the GF pancakes. Really nice. Coffee was great too. Will be back for sure.

The food here is great, 4 – 5 stars. It’s nice that there is a restaurant designed for vegan and raw diets. There are options on the menu that are not just meat substitutes. The menu food combines well.
Service, 1 – 2 stars. I have had similar problems as other Unilocalers. I called to see if they were open, hours state until 9, I arrive at 8:30, and they tell me they are closed. Inconsistent hours is the worst. When I have called regarding other questions I have been hung up on. Dining service has been 3 stars.

This place is consistently excellent. I like to go Saturday before the dinner rush. Young coconut and the bison loaf with those curried potatoes — terrific. Staff is great, fun and helpful.

I’ve been to BODY many times and taken others, too. I’m bummed because I feel the food is going down hill. Every time I go, it seems the menu has changed and not for the better.
Tonight, I drove up from Albuquerque (having recently moved) I was looking forward to eating at BODY and getting a healthy meal. I’m vegan and love good raw vegan food. The raw menu is pretty slim these days. The same raw dishes that I loved once, are tough or simply taste bad. So, I now opt mostly for cooked vegan.
Tonight when we arrived, it was 8:12. They close at 9:00. I thought that was a reasonable time to come in for a closing time of 9:00. I guess I was wrong according the BODY staff. I was stopped at the door by a woman who seemed confused by our entrance. She asked if we would be getting take out or wanted the dining room. I said, «The dining room — is that ok?» and she said yes — but I sensed her intentional hesitation. Then, we were greeted by Justin, who stated the kitchen would be closing at 8:30 and they started closing down at 9:00.
Right.
We ordered right off the bat. When the green chili quinoa burger came, my girlfriend took one bite and it fell apart. It was wet and not cooked. The veggie burgers have a tendency to fall apart, but this one was a joke. She couldn’t eat it since it was a pile a raw goo. She told Justin who said he would comp our to go ganache. He didn’t offer to comp the burger. Weird. I didn’t push the issue, deciding to take the difference out of his tip instead — seemed fair.
We got the feeling the staff and kitchen were angry that we decided to dine with them at 8:12 when they close at 9:00 — and couldn’t be bothered with finishing the cooking part.
This was not the first bad experience we’ve had there, but it’s the last. I’ve shopped there, gotten massages there — all for the last time. OH! and there was a big finger print on the top of my ganache. The finger was free though! YAY! Such a deal.

Their eggs Benedict tasted like bile and was (instead of eggs Benedict) eggs on tomatoes with spinach (no English muffin) and instead of hollandaiase sauce it was red chili. I like all of those things APART and it is not eggs Benedict !!! Bile !
I haven’t had spa service so I can’t comment on that but I hear it’s excellent.

My friend and I went to Body for my birthday today. The scrub that I received was wonderful and my therapist was profession and talented. I also enjoyed lunch. The food was fresh and clean. I like the variety of vegan options.
I was disappointed in the atmosphere. The front desk took us into a quiet room and we were told to wait there for our therapists. There is a large sign on the wall that says whisper. The lighting is low and there is a nice fountain. Unfortunately, the staff came in and out of that room numerous times. Each time, they slammed the sliding door. At one point, one of the therapists ran into a client as she was leaving the quiet room and the client was coming in. The therapist left the door open and engaged in a very loud conversation with the client. At another point, a worker marched through the quiet room, sighed quite loudly (like he was not happy to be at work) and went into another room, slamming the door. Another time, two therapists walked through the quiet room, talking to one another.
I would have liked some real peace and quiet. It seemed that the staff did not respect the purpose of this room or the clients waiting there. I also would have liked a robe and slippers to change into (other spas have provided this in the past). While I was disappointed in not having this particular amenity, I think the worst part was all of the noise before my treatment began.
If you are wanting a full «spa experience» this is not the place to go. If you want a good service but do not care about anything else, this place is perfect.

I can only speak about the café. my experience here was really good. I enjoyed a great meal and they were accommodating to little ones. It is quiet, low lit, and I got positive vibes from it.
I ordered the coconut lemon grass curry. Was a bit too watery, I wanted it to have a bit more base. The veggies broccoli, zucchini were fresh and I passed my plate around.
The staff was good, our waiter was nice and situated just fine. The place was a bit empty, just a few tables had people but I’m willing to come again just to see different things they may add.

Had an hr massage. It was relaxing. The lady (can’t remember) really helped my tension headache.
Also came here with my family for dinner the other night. I had the lemongrass curry with chicken it was pretty good. My boyfriend had the lamb burger it had good flavor just was built wrong and fell apart after the first bite. It was kind of confusing how they said their would be a gratuity for over 6 people (they didn’t even have enough tables for that nor come take your order). I think this is more of a place to grab a light lunch or a juice

Really enjoyed my visit to the café. My waiter, Daniel, was super sweet and helpful. He made several suggestions which were totally on target. The Coconut Lemongrass Curry with tempeh was hot and comforting and just the ticket for a very cold night. The raw chocolate ganache torte was excellent but almost too rich for me to finish. Got one of their gluten-​free peanut butter cookies to try later and it was excellent!
I will definitely be back to try some more dishes and the Super Hero smoothie, which Daniel also recommended.

I think Body looks great and has lots of wonderful things in it, but … if I want to stand and look around, I don’t want to be treated like a freak by the cashier because I happened to be standing by the cash register without realizing it and didn’t have something in my hands to purchase or a question to ask. So even if I find something I want to buy, since I don’t want to deal with that kind of nastiness I’d rather either get it elsewhere or not get it at all. This place is snob-​er-​ific.
I’m sure with a change in staff, a lot of the reviews could skyrocket, which I’d like to see happen. Not that they care what I think, but I’d like to see this place reach more of its potential!

I am an out-​of-​town ashtangi always looking to enjoy a new city’s yoga culture. I showed up to Body with an open mind and heart. The 7 $ for 7 days of classes didn’t hurt either. Today, I walked out of the shop for the THIRD time and thought I might share my experience.
Yoga: Completely unpredictable. If you are new, the names of the classes are unrelated to the level of difficulty. I tried six classes. The «hatha’ varied in difficulty (ok by me as ‘hatha’ does include a range) and the teachers were good. A beginner would not have been able to follow ²⁄₃ hatha classes. Next, the popular vinyasa class… simply irresponsible to have 75 people and no assistants (saw 1 once) doing adjustments/​checking alignment. Having people jump in and out of bakasana (crow pose) when the posture hasn’t been taught is just asking for trouble. I saw so much bad alignment in this class as people pushed themselves to do very advanced postures they simply weren’t ready for.
Café: After my yoga pass was up I didn’t write off Body. I returned to the café one morning after my practice elsewhere in search of a fresh pressed juice. There is no menu posted, so I waited in line behind one person who, after ten minutes still had not finished the counter chit chat. I had to get to work, so no juice for me.
Boutique: This is the WORST part of Body, and not because the clothes are ugly (I happen to be pretty in to overpriced hippy stuff and am willing to shell out $$ for it)… the issue is how RUDE and unavailable the staff are. I ran in to buy a yoga towel and after 15 minutes with it in my hand and standing at the desk with a big crowd one person working and three people chatting behind the counter, I had to walk out.
Today, I had some things to try on and nobody asked to help me for quite some time, then when I was offered I asked a question about size availability the woman was shockingly curt. Shockingly. They must treat staff poorly and this gets downloaded to customers. I can’t think of why else you would be so gruff with someone willing to buy ridiculous 50 $ panties. I walked out AGAIN.
