I’m always watching for the exotic or tooled boots when traveling to add to my collection. After seeing a pair of full tooled boots on Back to the Ranch web-​site, I knew this would be the pair I would wear for my son’s wedding. One month prior to the wedding I noticed a flaw in the leather at a stress point and was concerned that it would rip open. After contacting Susan she asked that I send them back for a repair that would be done in time for the wedding, and that I could temporary get by with. Along with the fact that at this time they started on the replacement pair. After the event I sent the temporary pair back and within two weeks I was shocked to receive a new pair. After excellent service like this I really needed to let others know!

The quality and designs are beyond! Can’t afford them but it’s definitely worth coming here and seeing what a perfect boot looks like. For me the experience was like being at a museum. Very contemporary but classic at the same time. The interior design of the place is stunning as well. There’s a nice detail in every corner.
I loved that I didn’t feel pressure or ignored because I wasn’t a potential client. The lady was very nice and proud of her boots. We both shared a great passion for boots.
Forget about designer boots where you only pay for a known label. This is design, material, craftsmanship and american made. Would love to own a pair of these some day.

This is the finest boot store in Santa Fe if not the world. Unique, gorgeous, finely crafted boots that fit beautifully and wear forever. They are actually WORTH what they cost. Moreover, the boots are simply a compliment to the utterly charming, knowledgable, staff. Customer service at this store is like the kind of customer service one received a century ago. They CARE about their customers! I have even returned a year later to have my boots stretched and it is done with absolute graciousness. Any tweaking of your boot is done competently and with a smile — never a feeling that you are inconveniencing them! This kind of service is rare and valued.

THE première resource in the southwest for authentic, made in America cowboy boots, pendleton wool jackets and even vintage pawn jewelry. We come here every time we make it to Santa Fe! Get ready to see Lyle Lovett or Miranda Lambert trying on boots-it’s where country western stars go to get outfitted for their big tours. Put it this way-​Ralph Lauren and his designers come HERE for inspiration.
Are things expensive? You better believe it. But you’re paying top dollar for the real deal. These boots are handmade and handcrafted-​and will last for a lifetime. I have two vintage wool Pendleton jackets purchased here and I wear them everywhere. If your budget doesn’t allow for $ 1,500 pair of handcrafted boots or a $ 1,000 jacket, it’s fun to come and browse anyway. Many of the designs here you’ll see mass produced in a year or two on the shelves of your local boot store. This is where the inspiration starts.
Clerks are friendly and not snooty at all. They aim to please. We have always been treated with respect and kindness.

Beyond beauty, the boots are EXTREMELY well made (by hand at a small factory in El Paso). Luchesse does not compare — not even close.
It is true you will pay more at BatR, but in this case you get what you pay for — quality that will last for decades.
Can’t say enough good things about this store. Already excited about the next pair I buy from them!

Yes! Yes! Yes! By all means, buy your boots from Back At the Ranch. A small and intimate store, boots line the walls by size & potential buyers are welcome to select and try on boots. You are not at the mercy of the sales lady running to the back to bring out boxes of boots. Although she’ll probably greet you at the door, ask for Susan — she was lovely and attentive without hovering. Go on! Get yourself a pair of fabulous boots!

This place is AMAZING! They custom make the most delicious boots ever! They had the largest selection of leathers and exotic skins that I have ever seen. The meticulous measuring process will no doubt ensure that my boots fit my feet perfectly. The customer service that I recieved was over the top and I ended up buying 2 pair of boots! :) I will be back on my next trip thru Santa Fe. I heard they might even open a showroom in their factory in El Paso soon, so that might be another option for me. I highly recommend them!

I got the most beautiful cowboy boots that I have ever owned at Back at the Ranch. The staff was incredibly helpful in helping me make a choice — there are so many beauties to choose from — and they are an investment for sure. Back at the Ranch should be on the list of Attractions in Santa Fe — there’s really no place like it. Go on in, sit on the red leather couch and let the fun begin! Boot after boot after boot…
