Specialties
Luxury loose leaf tea.
We offer over 75 kinds of tea, including black, green, oolong, white, pu-erh, rooibos, mate and herbal teas. Many of our teas are blended by hand right in our shop. About 40% of the teas we sell are certified organic.
We also carry a nice selection of quality tea ware and accessories to help you make the best tea possible. Our staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and can help educate customers who are new to tea as well as talk easily with tea lovers who already make it a part of their life.
We have freshly brewed samples of tea each day for you to taste while you shop. We welcome visitors and locals alike to come in and try some tea whenever you find yourself in our neighborhood.
History
Established in 2007.
ArtfulTea began primarily as an online tea shop, started by Karen Gardiner, to offer a select collection of luxury loose leaf teas at reasonable prices. Over the years, ArtfulTea’s selection of teas from around the world grew, and Karen also began adding some of her own tea blends. In 2012, ArtfulTea was invited to open a shop at the Santa Fe Farmers Market. And in the Spring of 2015, we opened our first full-time storefront near the historic Santa Fe Plaza.
Meet the Business Owner
Karen G.
Business Owner
I’m Karen Gardiner, owner of ArtfulTea. My passion for tea inspired me to open a tea shop called «Kindred Spirit» in Key West, Florida, back in 2000. I attended the first World Tea Expo in 2002, and now attend annually, to source tea from growers around the world, keep up-to-date on tea’s health benefits, and - of course — taste hundreds of teas.
In 2006, that lovely little Key West tea shop could endure no more hurricanes, and I found myself moving to beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico. Before I was fully settled here, former Kindred Spirit customers asked how they could order the tea they’d grown to love, so I launched ArtfulTea in 2007, primarily as an online business.
A few years later ArtfulTea was invited to be part of the Santa Fe Farmers Market Shops. Today we also have a full-time location near the historic Santa Fe Plaza, where we offer over 75 different loose leaf teas, all of which are selected by me, and many of which I hand blend myself.
