Amanda’s Flowers

For the second year in a row I have ordered Vday flowers for my mom through 800flowers. Amanda’s has been the local florist that 800flowers has used in both years. both times Amanda’s delivers different bouquets than what I order. last Vday is was a dozen red roses instead of the multicolored roses I ordered, and this year I ordered a dozen white roses and they delivered an enragement with 4 white roses and some lillys. something that would cost about 50% of what I paid for. seeming that this happened both times I used Amanda’s I bet they pull this scam all the time. it makes sense because most people that send flowers never see the actual flowers that are delivered.

I have been using Amanda flowers for several months. I recently walked in and saw they WON BEST OF SANTA FE 2015. They have always been on point with all of my arrangements. The deliveries have always been on time. Thier flower arrangements are always what I ask for. I am allowed to choose the colors and the flowers so I’m never dissapointed. You get what you ask for. I like that I get to choose my vases. I am always treated with respect and kind faces. The owner always assures me she is there for my needs. I truly appreciate it when I walk in last minute and she still accommodates my order. Thank You Amanda Flowers.

BEWARE!!! My sister in law ordered a flower arrangement for my wife for her birthday. They guaranteed delivery on her birthday and it never happened. My sister called the next day and expressed her displeasure and the persons response on the phone was «what do you want me to do about it.» So rude and no wonder there reviews suck! My sister in law was trying to go with a «local» company but stay away from this place as they don’t care about the customer

My children ordered flowers from FTD to be delivered on Mother’s Day. When I didn’t receive them, I called the three FTD florists in Santa Fe to see which one had received the order. The first two florists were polite and understanding and checked for me, but they did not have the order. The third (and final) call was to Amanda’s. The person I spoke with, refused to check for me and was rather rude. I certainly will not use this florist. (P.S. I never did get my flowers and my children received a refund.) I also would not recommend using FTD ever!

I am so disappointed in this shop and their displays. I recently ordered a bouquet for a dear friend and chose to support an independent business. The bouquet was quite expensive, $ 88.00 with delivery fee and looked as if it was thrown together by an amateur who went to local grocery picked up a nondescript, uninspiring bouquet. I felt so disappointed as it ruined the gift and was a complete waste of my hard earned money. I called back to report the disappointment. They did refund me $ 16.00! That felt like an insult. A reputable store would have called me back, listened and made an effort to repair the damage– none such.
NEVER USE THIS SHOP– unless you see what they are sending first.
Too bad, they really hurt themselves, their art and service, as well as quality and communication are not even worth 1 star!

This place is horrible!!! They didn’t have any items in their freezer to choose from. My order was a walk-​in one, but I have still gotten better service at other places. There were three people working and no one greeted me when I walked in. I asked for a arrangement under $ 20 for my mother in-​law. All I got was an old milk glass with three little daffodils and some other mini flowers. When she was done making my arrangement she just left it on the table and walked away and didn’t even say goodbye or anything. Very unprofessional and not worth the money I spent. For what I paid here I could have gotten a taller and fuller vase of flowers at the hospital gift shop!!! Don’t waste your time with this place. It’s a total rip off and unfriendly environment.

Unfortunately, my experience with Amanda’s Flowers & 1−800-Flowers was terrible. I ordered a Thanksgiving centerpiece from 1−800-Flowers for my in-​laws and their family’s Thanksgiving in Santa Fe, New Mexico as we do every year. Delivery was assigned to Amanda’s Flowers in Santa Fe.
When I placed the online order, 1−800-Flowers phoned me to get the recipients’ phone number. I provided their land line number. The arrangement was due to be delivered the Monday before Thanksgiving.
On Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I received a call from 1 – 800 stating that Amanda’s tried to make the delivery on Monday, but the recipients weren’t home and they couldn’t reach them, so I had my hubby call 1 – 800 back and provide the recipient’s cell phone number. He also provided his cell phone number and asked 1 – 800 to call HIM if there were any further problems.
On Saturday, 1 – 800 left a voice mail on my cell phone in broken English stating that [something-couldn’t hear what] was no longer in service and that they were refunding our money because they did not make the delivery. No one ever called my hubby to inform us of any further delivery problems, as he requested.
I spoke with the intended recipient last night explaining how 1 – 800 dropped the ball. He said that the recipients were home all day the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving. He said Amanda’s Flowers left a voice mail on Wednesday to confirm they were there before delivering. He said he returned their call Wednesday leaving a voice mail at Amanda’s informing them that they were home. The recipients never heard from Amanda’s Flowers again until the Friday AFTER Thanksgiving, telling them that the flowers would not be delivered.
We were all very aggravated and disappointed, and for my hubby and I, it was embarrassing since our recipients have come to expect them every year (I even told them to expect them this year), so they no longer make their own arrangements for a holiday centerpiece.
This is not the first time I’ve been disappointed by 1−800-Flowers not making a delivery on the contracted date. I will no longer use 1−800-Flowers. Unfortunately, I know that florists like Amanda’s are under contract with other national floral services, so even if I quit using 1−800-Flowers, there’s a good chance that Amanda’s Flowers could be the contracted florist with the company I use next year. I see in others’ posts that they are a contracted florist with Teleflora too. Guess I won’t be using Teleflora either. Way to lose customers for your contracted companies, Amanda’s.

So disappointed in Amanda’s! I live in Denver and my mom is buried in the National Cemetary in Santa Fe. On her birthday I asked them to place flowers on her grave and send me a picture-​which they did and it made me happy. For Mother’s Day I made the same request, spending a lot of money for flowers, delivery, and pic. The only thing I have is the bill on my charge card. I never received a picture. I sent an email, have called 3 times, (initially they couldn’t find invoice that order was even delivered) and all I’ve gotten is a promise that Carol will call me back – never has! I called with plenty of time, paid for the service, and don’t know if flowers were there. I will not use them again especially because Carol couldn’t even take the time to contact me after many attempts on my part!

we just had our wedding this past weekend. unfortunately, our experience was not great. We paid extra to have a specific type of rose in the bouquets. however, it was not used. The florist used white roses instead and they were completely wilted and had brown edges. The only thing I am grateful for is that we used flower petals on the tables instead of a full floral arrangement — I cannot imagine what that what have looked like. Also, I paid almost 4 times the amount of money for my bridal bouquet — however, it came out being the same size as the one for the matron of honor — with the same type of flowers… so, my bouquet was nothing special. One of the most disappointing things was that the flowers were to be delivered at a certain time, but they were late. Carol required help from my bridal party to unload the arrangements at the church and hand them out to the bridal party — she basically left everything at the alter and drove away… I am very disappointed with this florist. this was a destination wedding and I relied on reviews. Now I know…

Found Amanda’s to be extremely courteous and professional. Called them extremely late for Mothers Day: not only were they able to fill the order but the bouquet was lovely — «a gorgeous arrangement,» in mom’s words. Highest recommendation!

Unfortunately, my experience with Amanda’s was not good. Ordered a specific Teleflora arrangement that was assigned to Amanda’s. The arrangement (Bejeweled) was in a purple glass vase and showed from the front only (I imagine the back of it matched the front) 3 large pink roses, 7 smaller red roses, 7 large purple carnations, and was filled in with 6 – 9 small pink carnations and some green leaves. What came from Amanda’s was the purple vase with 5 purple carnations and some alstromeria and LOTS of green leaves! No roses! I would have appreciated a call to allow me to substitute something else instead of them delivering this low quality sham if they didn’t have a rose in the house. Classic bait and switch — do they think you won’t find out? Next they offered to resend the arrangement as pictured… really???

I had great expectations in this florist with all the good reviews they have on Unilocal.We walked into Amanda’s Flowers and was basically just handed several arrangement albums instead of any sort of assistance.
We finally ordered two floral arrangements and several boutonnières for my grandfathers funeral. When the Funeral Mass had begun we were told that only one arrangement was delivered to the funeral home. Amanda’s Flowers apparently overlooked the rest of the order and never filled the order. It was a very disappointing moment on a very important day for my family.

Ordered flowers for a funeral. I didn’t see them but heard they were beautiful. I told the florist I didn’t want them to look like funeral flowers. The person was young and a free spirit so I wanted something bright and cheerful. They did an excellent job. I will order from them again anytime I need to send flowers in Santa Fe.

I tried using Amanda’s Flowers for my wedding. It took many calls and emails on my part to get someone to communicate with me. My calls were never returned, email went unanswered and apparently my business was not wanted. Will not consider using them in the future.

I have worked with Amanda’s Flowers quite a bit over the last few years to arrange ordering flowers for other people and have always been impressed with service provided, reasonable pricing, and creative designs. So, naturally, when it was time to plan my own wedding, I thought of Amanda’s immediately. Carol was patient with my specific desires and requests and understood EXACTLY what I wanted. I have never seen more beautiful flowers in my life! As a wedding planner, Amanda’s Flowers will always be the FIRST place I will recommend. Thank you Carol! :)

Amanda’s is wonderful! I called to order a «thank you» bouquet for a dear friend. The woman who took my order was kind, sensitive and attentive to the spirit of what I wanted to send. They assured same day delivery and noted all my floral requests. Will definitely use them again. Thumbs up!

We’ve gone with them 2 years in a row now for Mothers’ Day. In ’09, we were responsible, booked in time, and momma was happy. This year, we went with somebody else (this is all via internet & phone, mind you, as we both live far away from New Mexico), and they backed out on us THE DAY BEFORE DELIVERY!!! Frantically, we tracked down our credit card records from the previous year, and discovered that it was Amanda’s we had used, so we called them again. The lady with whom I spoke scolded me for not choosing them a 2^nd year in a row off the bat, but took pity on me when I explained to her that we had reserved a flower delivery a week earlier, but the florist told us the day before that they wouldn’t be able to deliver on Mothers’ Day. Well, not only did Amanda’s get the last-​second delivery done on time, they put together an arrangement based on our mother’s prefered flower types & colors, and preserved mensch status for us for yet another year. Amanda’s helped the bros a pinch. No question who we’ll be going with in ’11. 5 stars easy.
