I wanted to end my business trip with something epic so I made the drive to Santa Cruz and booked a last minute ride with Dave at the Ride Guides. He was more than happy to accommodate me with a choice of different mountain bikes and trails that would match my ability.
I am by no means an expert and manage to ride a few times per year on local single track so he provided a good mix of flat, scenic coastline trails with some medium technical trails through the redwoods! The views were completely epic that photos cannot hope to contain it all!
Dave was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history and ecosystem of the Santa Cruz area which made the ride a learning experience both physically and mentally.
He provided a full suspension bike, helmet, extra water bottles, magic electrolyte beans, granola bars if needed which was great.
I had such a great time and will be back there hopefully soon to ride the new trails they are building!

Dave did an awesome job guiding our crew on our first day in Santa Cruz. Helped us string together a bunch of trails in/​near Wilder to give us just what we were looking for, helped us fix a mechanical and hooked us up with an epic ride plan in Nisene/​Demo for the following day. …and the guy has serious bike skills. Wouldn’t hesitate to use/​refer Ride Guides.
