Established in 2015.

Thomas Castillo, CPA and Cristian Gonzalez, CPA purchased the existing practice of Seghetti & Waxler, CPAs to create the firm Seghetti, Waxler, Castillo & Gonzalez.

Thomas and Cristian are happy to build upon the legacy created by Roy Seghetti & Douglas Waxler, the original owners.

Business Owner

Thomas Castillo, CPA (Tom) serves as the President and co-​owner of Seghetti, Waxler, Castillo & Gonzalez.

Tom began his career «over the hill» at a national accounting firm that provides a broad range of services to investment funds and high net worth individuals. He worked with these types of business and high net worth individuals until he returned to his home town of Santa Cruz to go into practice with Cristian Gonzalez, CPA.

Tom has deep roots in Santa Cruz. His Grandfather, Tom Elward, attended Santa Cruz High in the 1950’s before starting his own biotech services business in Soquel, and his Great Uncle, Kenneth Elward, was a certified public accountant in Santa Cruz long before Tom was ever thought of. Tom was born and raised in Soquel, California. He graduated Cum Laude from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (accounting). He is a member of the AICPA and CalCPA. He lives in Soquel with his wife, Lori and daughter, Penelope.
