I never expected to be impressed with a hospital personnel enough to be inspired to write a review for them, but this person certainly deserves it and more! Karlene Whitehill is a 5 Star surgical nurse who’s experience, caring presence and delightful sense of humor gave me a sense of ease and confidence in the whole procedure. My thanks to this lovely, seasoned professional!

good as can be expected for surgery

Excellent service by all staff there. Front office got referral and insurance info quickly and accurately, in less than a few hours from referral office – amazing! RN’s (several)and Dr. Herold were great. Felt super well taken care of, like family, really. Great team effort and had no discomfort and never felt rushed whatsoever. Very happy with this crew.

I was a patient at Santa Cruz Surgery Center in mid-​December. Their billing staff handled everything with my doctor and my insurance provider in advance, so the morning of my surgery, all I needed to do was show up with my portion of the cost. Simple enough. The pre-​op staff was very kind and genuinely concerned about my well-​being. I had one nurse who was concerned with my ability to have surgery, and while I was pushing for us to go ahead, I appreciate that she was being cautious for my own good. I was particularly happy with my anesthesiologist. He called me a few evenings before the procedure and went over absolutely every detail with me for over15 minutes. We talked again before my surgery and I felt very comfortable with him. With him and my ENT, I knew I’d be in excellent hands. My recollection of my post-​op time is a little fuzzy, but I know that I felt pretty dizzy and just wanted to rest for a little while and this is exactly what they let me do, so I am grateful. My recovery has gone well and it’s due in no small part to the excellent care I received here.

I had a knee procedure done at this center a few days ago and was impressed with the friendliness of the staff. and their efforts in ensuring my husband understood my post surgery care. While I was concerned that this was just a drive thru surgery center and that I would just be a number in the process, I was pleasantly surprised.
