We are locally owned and operated and are proud to be the longest operating RV Repair and Parts Center in Santa Cruz California Est. in 1976.

Hello and welcome to RV Service Center of Santa Cruz,

I wanted to let you know a little about my background. I started off in the industry in High School in the Detail Dept @ Dan Gamel in Scotts Valley and worked my way into the Parts Department as a shelf stalker witch is where i got to learn a lot about the products. Dan Gamel moved so I left the company until Guaranty moved into Scotts Valley where I got hired again in the Parts Dept. Then I was promoted to the Shipping/​Receiving Manager. My next adventure was being a Service Adviser for Guaranty, but my passion was still in Parts. At age 23 I became the Parts Manager. I helped Guaranty move to Gilroy and became the Parts & Warranty Manager. I worked there until 2006 when they closed all operations in CA. I Went to work for Leales Fleet & RV for 4 years and built up their Parts Department. Rena the owner of RV Service Center asked me to be the Director of Operations for her business. So here I am today enjoying what I do. Thanks Jon

Sealing the roof was sloppy and over priced, expected much more for the priced charged. Skipped easy repairs completely. lied about what was needed to up sale replacing fridge. Bad customer service, funny thing is i was planning to spend much more on fixing as much as possible. I quickly realized this place is about turn over not quality or attention to detail. Hacks

Always go out of their way to help me, even when I don’t have a service job for them. Today they spent 30 minute helping me diagnose a battery issue– wouldn’t even take my money. A shop I trust.

somewhat surprised at the string of 5 star reviews. I think owning an RV is a rich persons game and I’m making an assumption that wealthy RV owners don’t look too closely at the costs of service? Having recently purchased a vintage trailer, it’s clear this isn’t what they’re best at, maybe fixing newer RV’s is their game.
from my experience, I’d ask them very clearly what they can or can’t do before authorizing work.
What really soured me was being told that they couldn’t complete the standard inspection service as the shower faucet was broken and couldn’t be fixed without incurring enormous expense and risk of damaging old brittle bathroom plastics. I wasn’t prepared for this level of expense and declined this work. I got close to taking their advice and pulling the bathroom panels out to get at the shower faucet fixture but curiosity got the better of me and I consulted with Bay Pluming, who showed me what to do, this was literally a 10 min fix, new Moen cartridge and a clip that holds it in. That was it? At $ 120.00/hr seems like anyone fixing RV’s new or old would have a basic knowledge of plumbing. Because of the «broken» faucet, the water system, backwater system & water heater couldn’t be checked, i was still charged $ 250.00 for the PDI check.
my checkout bill was $ 1200.00 for the PDI (never completed) a new gas regulator, 7 way electrical cable installation, new water pump and caping off a gas line.
If you have money to burn, these guys will take it! This was a great lesson for the future, there are a ton of forums and free advice on the internet, just search and it’s there. I don’t like bashing people on Unilocal but this was not cool .
ps. there are some jobs that novices can’t do, I found a mobile rv service out of san jose, super positive friendly guys that were honest and charged a fair hourly rate, helped me install a modern power converter for about 50% of what the RV Center had quoted as an estimate.

Great technical knowledge and helpful in reviewing problems and possible solutions. They did a Norcol fridge check and were fast and professional. They also do solar installations and were doing two on RV’s while I was there for the fridge in mine. I would definitely trust them to do the work properly and at a fair price.

About 2 years ago, I took my (tiny) travel trailer to them to get a crack in the frame repaired. I had to rent a truck (mine had died, so the trailer had just been living in the back yard for a while) to get it there, and I showed them the crack, and then picked it up and drove it home that night. AFTER I got it home I realized that they’d repaired a spot other than the one I’d pointed to. I’d readily believe it was cracked there, too — it’s an old trailer — but not having the one I’d pointed to fixed was very upsetting. When I sorrowfully told them that the crack they’d worked on hadn’t been the one I’d asked them to repair and the difficulty in getting the trailer to them at all, they DROVE OUT THEMSELVES to pick up my trailer (so I wouldn’t have to rent a truck again) and did the additional work at a discounted hourly rate as an apology. It wasn’t their fault my trailer had multiple repairs needed (though I wish it had been noticed before I picked the trailer up). But they made absolutely sure I was happy with their work and I really appreciate it.

These guys are professional, service-​oriented, and know their stuff. I had a trailer break down towing my boat to Moss Landing. I could tell the nature of the issue and the probable bounds of needed repairs. The first recommended place I called starting talking on the phone about replacing bearings on all four wheels even though I told them that one pair of hubs were brand new. I called RV Service Center of SC, and dropped the trailer off with instructions to evaluate the problem and make the trailer roadworthy for the trip home where I could make full repairs myself. They did this in short order, at a very decent price, and without attempting to overstate the work needed. Their mechanic, who clearly has a lot of experience, also spent quite a bit of time explaining the various options for full rehabilitation of the hubs and brake system, and answering my many questions.
These guys made a good first impression, and lived up to it.

My husband and I had a horrible experience with the RV Service Center of Santa Cruz when our RV was stolen from their premises. The manager at the RV Service Center said that this has happened twice before in a short amount of time, yet the RV Service Center doesn’t have a guard, or lock a gate, or even have a surveillance camera or lock the steering wheels of the vehicles with a «Club» (at the point our RV was stolen, at least).
The shop manager called us up the morning after we’d dropped off the RV for repairs (and right before we were leaving for holiday) and asked if we had taken the RV during the night. Of course we said no, so they called the police. This is when we found out that the stolen vehicles were a rather common problem at this establishment. We were fortunate, and within the week the RV was recovered by CHP, although not in working order, and had been lived in during that time by a homeless person.
My husband and I had made real efforts to help out the RV Service Center by: coordinating with 3 police departments to get fingerprinting done (at the request of the RV Service Center), paying cash for towing services to reduce the bill, sending mattresses to cleaners and getting items steam-​cleaned instead of replacing items after the homeless person had been living in the RV; also, we did not rent an RV and charge them for the holiday we had planned, but instead dug out our old tent and bought a Coleman stove and ‘roughed it’.
Why did we do all this? I’m a small business owner myself, and I understand that unexpected events like this can rock a business. But when everything was said and done, the RV Service Center owner started chiseling us for every repair that had been done, started getting nasty on the telephone, and never, not once, did she offer an apology for the incredible hassle we’d experienced. To-​date, we are still waiting for reimbursement from the RV Service Center for towing, repairs, cleaning, and replacement of several stolen items.
