I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Abend!!! My sister and I have been treated by him for over two years, and we view him as an angel in our lives. We first visited his office after I was in a serious car accident and endured intense whiplash and a traumatic brain injury, which resulted in debilitating neck and back pain as well as chronic migraines. My sister, on the other hand, had less severe symptoms, including knee pain from wearing heals to work and neck/​shoulder pain from general lifestyle including being my caretaker and using the computer. Dr. Abend was also able to successfully treat the both of us and help me to recover from my injuries.
As a PhD student studying clinical psychology, a fine-​dining host and cocktail server, a gardener, a caretaker of three dogs and two kittens, performance artist, and a jewelry maker, I am active with my body on a daily basis and cannot afford to limit my activities due to neck and back pain. I highly recommend Dr. Abend because his treatment has been effective in helping me recover to baseline functioning after a traumatic car accident, and because he has been available to treat me during the continual bumps in the road, such as during finals or restaurant week. When I have neck pain or migraines, I can always count on Dr. Abend to assess the problem and offer an excellent treatment with follow-​up posture/​exercise/​nutrition suggestions that help to realign and strengthen my body. We even discuss the proper pillow and sleep position so that I can rest comfortably and insure that I don’t add stress to my neck and back while sleeping. I always leave his office with less pain and a sense of relaxation and relief!
Dr. Abend is also a good, honest, professional guy who cares about the wellbeing of his patients. He helps to bill insurance and has even given me a student discount in the past when I was short on funds but in need of treatment. He listens to our needs, is highly educated, and also intuitively understands the body. Dr. Abend is an amazing chiropractor and a true healer!

I have been going to Dr Abend on and off for about 4 years now. I sit at a computer all day long so neck and back issues are always a struggle. I have seen other chiropractors but they were more like regular Dr. s were you sit and wait for 15 minutes just to have the Chiro come in crack your neck and then you leave. In and Out, Wham Bam.
That is NOT the experience with Dr Abend.
He really takes his time to inquire about your life style and what the root of the issue is. Then in my case, I get a 20 – 30 minute massage that is the best neck and upper back massage EVER! Then once I am completely relaxed he will proceed with a gentle but effective adjustment. There have been times where I have just been too darn stressed and tight to be adjusted but he didn’t push which I appreciated. Then he typically reminds me to do my exercises and stretches, which when I do faithfully greatly reduces my issues. For me, 4 – 6 sessions normally gets me sorted out for a while until I stop doing my exercises and resume my bad posture.
He has also helped me with other completely un-​related issues like a face massage to alleviate sinus pressure and ear discomfort. A foot adjustment to help with a achilles strain and has answered lots of general health questions.
I would recommend Dr Abend to anyone. He is truly fantastic.

Dr. Abend has played a key role in my recovery from a whiplash injury. I found that Dr. Abend skillfully combines massage and chiropractic care. During my first visit we discussed the nature of my injury and how it was affecting my daily activities. Dr. Abend then used a combination of massage and ultrasound to fully open the tight and restricted muscles in my neck and shoulder before performing the chiropractic adjustments. Dr. Abend also used modalities such as craniosacral therapy and trigger point therapy. I do not hesitate in recommending Dr. Abend.

Dr. Abend is a great chiropractor. I’ve always been a little freaked out about chiropractors/​adjustments but have had no problems at all and feel like the alignments have helped various systems in my body.
Dr. Abend is very gentle and knowledgeable about many areas of medicine.

Dr. Abend has been treating me since my first back injury 20 yrs ago, and for my additional injuries since then. He is an experienced, intuitive practitioner, extremely competent, as well as a genuinely «nice guy». It seems that he has «eyeballs in his thumbs», since he always knows just where my body needs attention. He also does his own massage, and uses other modalities himself, which I am told is not always the case with other chiropractors. He doesn’t treat you any longer than you need, no matter what your insurance coverage is. That is very rare. He is honest and compassionate, as well as extremely knowledgeable and skilled. I wouldn’t put myself in anyone else’s hands!
