Growing up in Aptos, California, Dr. Zeip was very interested in art and the complexities of science. That, along with his caring and compassionate nature, made dentistry a perfect career choice for Dr. Phillip Zeip.

After graduating from UC Santa Cruz, Dr. Zeip continued his education at The University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Dr. Zeip then attended UC San Francisco receiving his Advanced Education in Dentistry. Upon completion of Dr. Zeip’s post graduate residency training at UCSF he entered into private practice in Santa Cruz, California.

Dr. Zeip has 15 years of experience in general and cosmetic dentistry. Even with his extensive education, Dr. Zeip continues to increase his knowledge and skills by attending continuing education courses to keep current in state of the art procedures and techniques.

Dr. Phillip Zeip firmly believes in providing the comprehensive dental care services his patients need.

First I have to say I do not like going to the dentist or the way most dental offices smell, it gives me a headache just walking in. I needed my teeth cleaned and was stressing out wanting to find a dentist I liked, my old dentist Dr. Bock retired and since then I had seen 4 different dentists I really did not like for different reasons. Was looking on Groupon one morning and found Dr. Zeip, thought I would give him a try because I needed my teeth cleaned. First impression was fabulous, his office was very nice, not smelly and staff was very professional and super friendly. But I was still skeptical, loved my teeth cleaning and saw Dr. Zeip after. He was very friendly spent a lot of time with me going over my x-​rays and answering all my questions. I needed a cracked filling replaced, so I thought I would give him a try. I get super white knuckled nervous and Dr. Zeip handled it perfectly. Since then I have had three cleanings and a couple crowns and I still love him and his office staff. I am very happy and relieved to have found such a great dentist and staff. Thank you Thank you Thank you…

I have been seeing Dr. Zeip since I moved back to Santa Cruz 3 years ago. He is excellent as is his staff Trish and Melinda. I feel he truly listens to my issues and concerns. He doesn’t prescribe unnecessary treatments and lets me know what I should prioritize for the future. I have needed root canals and crowns in the past so this priority list is great for me. My sister and her family all go to Dr. Zeip. It was on her recommendation that I went to see him initially. I am glad I did. My husband also see’s him and highly recommends him.

From Melinda who answered my phone call to Kat the dental hygienist, to Dr. Zeip, this office was nothing less than incredible. This is the experience that I was hoping for at a beautiful private practice in Santa Cruz. Clean, efficient, and so friendly. Each member of the team went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and help me understand my dental health.
I could not give a stronger recommendation.

I have been a patient of Dr. Zeip for a number of years. He has always provided excellent care for me and my wife. My latest visit, for a crown replacement, went very smoothly. His staff, both the hygienists and the support staff, are knowledgeable and flexible, making every effort to accommodate my needs. His office manager is especially capable. Dr. Zeip has built a top notch practice.

My insurance is confusing but Melinda was on the case she answered all my questions and was professional and friendly, if there was any question it did not go unanswered prior to services, the Hygienists Lorrie is sweet and professional at all times. I would recommend going here.

Warning: unfair billing practices.
I was told before AND after my only visit by Dr. Zeip’s office that I would not be charged at all because my insurance would pay for it 100%. Here I am talking about a 20 minute exam and x-​Rays. No cleaning.
Well, a month later I received a $ 21 bill in the mail. I advised Dr. Zeip in detail that they had made a mistake and explained my reasons. In response, I was told by Dr. Zeip’s office that «insurance is complicated» and they sent me the insurance billing with Insurance codes that an average person would not understand in an attempt to justify the bill.
I did not pay the bill because I didn’t owe Dr. Zeip the money. Now I have received a letter stating that he is taking me to collections.
It’s too bad that there is not a negative star on Unilocal for terrible customer service. You have been warned.

We moved to Santa Cruz almost three years ago from the East Coast. We were recommended to go to Dr. Zeip when my son’s veneer came off of his front tooth. Dr. Zeip was able to get him in to the office that day.
Since then, we all go (2 adults and three teens) for all of our dental care. The hygenists are all awesome. Tricia is amazing and Melinda is the front desk… she is so sweet. I have had a few crowns that were needed and Christy who works with Dr. Zeip is the most gentle and nicest person. Dr. Zeip is thorough, personable and is just an all-​around great man and dentist. He tells you what is necessary versus what you can sort of wait for. My husband had an emergency with his two front teeth on a Friday afternoon. Dr. Zeip actually met us in the office on a Friday night (around 530pm) and basically gave my husband new front teeth until he could see him on Monday and recommend an endodontist. He even called on Saturday to see how my husband was doing.
Amazing customer service. This office is so nice and personable! I would recommend anyone go to Dr. Zeip’s!
