History

Established in 2013.

Sarah Allen is a board licensed and nationally certified acupuncturist. Growing up in Vermont, she developed a strong interest in and connection to Tibetan Buddhism that led her to pursue her education at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. It was here that Sarah was introduced to traditional healing methods.

Being particularly drawn to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Sarah followed her desire to become a healing practitioner. She relocated to Santa Cruz, where she received her Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University after completing over 3,200 hours of intensive training. Sarah assumed a professorship position at Five Branches University and after working in the bay area for 4 years she has relocated her practice to Santa Cruz.

Sarah has a strong general care practice that focuses primarily on restoring the body’s natural balance in order to promote health and prevent disease. Since being in practice, Sarah has deepened her general scope to emphasize addiction and mood management.

She’s adept at working with those in recovery as well as addressing psycho-emotional conditions such as anxiety, depression, insomnia and stress. She has a kind gentle spirit that her patients find comforting. This combined with a knowledge base and keen intellect inspires confidence and results with her patients. When not at the office Sarah can be found working on a pottery wheel, collecting sea glass along the coast, spending time with her family or exploring the outdoors with her pup Lola.
