Lighthouse Windows

Following up, the owner has made personal contact with me to mitigate the situation. An apology was made. The complaint was how the scheduling was performed or in my case terribly performed by the work scheduler in the office, not the actual work performed at my home by the crew. They were professional and courteous. I have been informed there has been counseling made with this scheduler. This is what I saw as badly needed. I should mention that I have had good results with this contractor previously. I am prepared to give them another chance in the future. For now, three stars.

The owner was very nice to welcome and explained kindly at the store, but when we were scheduled for free estimate (He said he has full of schedules, so we waited over one week) and waited for him over an hour, he didn’t show up.
We called to the office and one lady answered she will contact with him and call us later back.
NO reply at all!
We’re very disappointed his behavior. How can people trust the person like him???
We decided to contact with different local window shop. They’re so honest and punctual.
After installation, we’re very satisfied with them.

Customer service does not exist. Guy was supposed to come to my house for an estimate appointment and did not show up. I called after waiting for an hour and he was tracked down by his office. He showed up soon after and took measurements. I never heard back from him. After leaving a note at his office, there has still been zero contact. He is a very nice guy but I would never do business with him due to his lack of professionalism.

I called for an estimate and Miguel was prompt and informative. The bid price AND the install date beat out the competition. The communication was good– keeping me informed and the polite gracious manner of Guy, Neal and Miguel was appreciated. Best of all, the shower glass looks terrific! ! Thanks Guys.

Guy Mitchell the owner will come out and be very nice and accommodating and give you a estimate. When the time came for installation I was rescheduled four times delaying my installation 2 weeks. When it came time for completion of the job windows were not washed garbage was left on property. There was a very large miscommunication about window jams that were untreated that needed to be treated before installation that will add unnecessary costs on me. I was told that the jams would be finished not left raw wood. Do not believe anything these people say get everything in writing and do not pay in advance.

Thank you BERNIE for showing up in less than 24 hours after one of my Milgard windows leaked indoors due to water damage of my exterior wood frame. Bernie did not do a simple fix it. He and his partner removed my entire window, redoing caulking, installing window, and replaced part of damaged wood frame.
I greatly appreciated the crew responding to my problem and resolving it so fast.

Guy and his team have done a great job for us on multiple jobs and have replaced all the windows and doors in our house.

I tried to give this company the benefit of the doubt but it took over one month to coordinate my install and the correct product. Finally we were able to install the door, but a month later the door no longer closes! Honestly the house could not have shifted that much in a month. I called the company asking for them to fix the issue and NEVER got a call back. They are horrible at keeping their appointed times, horrible customer service, all and all I will never use them again. I ended up having to purchase my own tools and do a diy project because I STILL have not heard back for them to FIX their error. Never again will I use this company.

Excellent service & superb work! Wouldn’t think of using another company. I can’t say enough about Guy Mitchell and his expert crew. We had a vision and Lighthouse helped us make it a reality. We couldn’t be happier with the end result! Thanks to Lighthouse we now have a stunning view of our backyard and Delaveaga Park!

Well done, complete job of installing tile block window & front door, even though it did not go as planned. Opening up the wall for the tile window, unexpected wiring was found. The lighthouse guys notified us of the issue, waited for us to decide the next action & resumed the job without any complaint or extra cost. Now we are very happy with the finished project. This is our 2^nd project with Lighthouse & would definitely use them again!

We had our entire home windows replaced, 7 windows and 2 sliders. The job was done quickly and well. The owner, Guy, is really professional and has great customer service. They gave me a great price and did wonderful work. There was one small problem with the slider and the next day Guy was at my home to remedy it. They are an outstanding business. I will recommend them to everyone I know in the market for windows and doors!

Very happy with the install. I had 15 windows replaced, most were old wood frame french windows and the rest were aluminum frame windows. They got it done in one day, were clean, and very detail oriented. The windows have been in for less than a month but so far I am extremely happy. Our house definitely feels «tighter» and holds heat in much more efficiently. I am excited to see how they help with our heating bill in the winter.

I shudder when I even think of these guys… what an awful experience we had with them… if there was zero rating, I would have chosen it —
Guy is knowledgeable … but he is also arrogant and VERY unprofessional, and, his crew left MUCH to be desired.
We had 10 windows and a Marvin Sliding Glass door installed by them.
The day they installed the Marvin Sliding Glass door… the crew struggled to get it to slide easily, which didn’t seem right, being that it was a very expensive door. When, the crew left, I took a look at the door… it was off the track!!! I fixed it —
They were supposed to trim the windows, on the inside with a wood frame — they assured us their guy would do it … of course their guy, started a window … and left for «an appt» one day, and didn’t come back untit the next day. When I started to go over changes we’d like (he was following a design my husband had discussed in detail) the guy blew up at me and cussed me with 4 letter words flying ! He was livid! It was very frightening, and I was a young mother home with a child… and we decided we did not feel safe with this guy working in our home.
Called Guy to let him know this was not working for us … and we wanted to opt out of them finishing the trim… He REFUSED to let out of «our contract» … Then, he met up with my husband who was walking on West Cliff with our young son and dog, and yelled at him there !!!
We had to hire an attorney to relieve ourselves of working with them …
How someone like that stays in business is beyond me… I would just warn anyone that choices to chance it, to NOT disagree with them… because they are volatile and uncompromising … so many better choices —

We shopped around before we decided because this was a big deal to us. We needed to replace all windows and sliders for the whole house. Our experience with lighthouse from start to finish far exceeded out expectations. I can’t say enough about the owner, the office staff and the installers. The install crew were way more than just installers, but craftsmen. They know their attention to detail. Just so very impressed and happy with the whole process. Thank You Lighthouse. I love my windows!

It is impossible for me to imagine how this job could have been done better. The prices were phenomenal the installation was very clean and neat they even help cleaned up the mess left behind by the painters. And my 30 years and Santa Cruz I’ve been involved with half-​dozen window companies I wish that I had discovered lighthouse soon. By the way everyone in the company is local and all of the money stays local

Do not use this company under any circumstances. They are unethical, unprofessional and undeserving of your business. I can not empasize what a miserable experience we had with the lady who answers the phone, the person that came out and did the bid and especially the owner Guy. The owner was the was the worst person we had to deal with in the entire company. I can not believe they are still in business. They are really a terrible company. Please do yourself a favor and call Sandman Glass or the Skylight Place.

I needed to replace all the windows in my house and had a couple of bids done, then decided to go with Lighthouse Windows. I had read some of the negative reviews and was a little concerned but I am sure glad that I did go with these guys! I have been doing deep remodeling on my fixer upper for the last year and have worked with tons of contractors, etc and these guys were probably the cleanest installation and efficient with their work, I was very pleased! They got the job done in one day, were on time, and I am completely serious when I say that after replacing 11 windows, there wasn’t a speck of dirt they left behind. The guys were also really polite and nice. So, I have looked at what some of the negative reviews are saying and I do agree that I had to follow up on some stuff that normally I would expect the company to do, but it was pretty minor and we live in Santa Cruz, this is a laid back beach community! I never got bothered by anything, I just followed up and they always came thru and they were always very nice. When it was all said and done, I had a fair price, beautiful and perfectly installed windows, and I am very happy! They are great, go with them and I know you will be happy!

I was very impressed that while dealing with this company, I actually talked to and got my consultation from Guy – the owner. He clearly takes pride in his business and is involved in the process.
I had them replace all the windows in my home and my glass sliding door. The workmanship that they did was awesome! They even found some rotting wood under the door while they were doing the replacement and took it upon themselves to replace the wood and seal it against further decay (free of charge!) They treated my home with respect and left the house clean and even took off the manufacturer’s sticker/​cleaned the windows. They knew what they were doing, were friendly and competent, and went above and beyond to make sure they did the job right.
I would describe them overall as a company that treats your job like it’s their own home. They saw some problems and fixed them right then and there: no short cuts to get the job done. They did finishing touches to make sure everything looked as nice as possible. They even got leftover paint from my garage and painted the frame to match my existing colors! They didn’t charge extra for these things, they just did the best job they could to make sure I was satisfied. I’m very happy and will be ordering my front door replacement through them as well.

Be very careful and put everything in writing. Everyone is pleasant– yet grossly incompetent.
In the past they were a good company– actually replaced all windows in my old home with no problem. However, I think they use deposits on jobs now to float their declining business. Please look their recent reviews on google reviews.
Do not give them a check/​cash, keep it on your credit card.
They came out three times to measure the same project. They bid the door replacement and new window install. I accepted the projects and gave a credit card deposit for nearly $ 600. On the day of installation of my window and door, they called to say they could not install the window, unless they charged more to get another evaluation of the windows impact on the wall. While I was unhappy they could not install it, I was at least appreciative they did not attempt something they did not know how to do. This is all despite seeing the project three times and creating a contract which I accepted at a contracted price. I asked about just installing the doors, they said their salesperson forgot to order them. I asked them to do so, and get it installed before Christmas.
Two times after, I took off work to get the doors installed. Each time their manufactures «forgot» the orders. They did not bother to call to let me know they did not have them to install. They just let me waste my time and vacation days. Of course, they were pleasant on the phone, but that too got old.
Finally exasperated with two months of excuses, I asked for my money back. The head office woman said, «o no, I could lose my job for that.» I asked her to get authorization from her manager and complete the refund. She claimed she could not call him, as he was driving and did not have blue tooth– perhaps why he was unable to make the door order three times.
Finally, I called again, asked for my money back, and was denied. I had to dispute it with my credit card company. Most frustrating way I have ever spent my money.

We had our first home in Felton done by the Lighthouse Windows crew, and everything was done on time and according to original estimate, so we decided to hire them a second time. Our second hone was much bigger and with the winter rain coming Lighthouse was able to remove the failing 1970’s single pane aluminum right away and keep on track of our sensitive time schedule.
We then met with Lighthouse a third time to consult on a smaller project because we did a kitchen remodel so we were able to work with them again.
This next spring we hope to do a 4^th and much larger addition so we will be contacting them again for more work, as we are happy with these guys, and would recommend them since they are true to their bid, and most importantly provided quality materials each time.
