Ms. Hamlin’s teaching philosophy includes learning through positive reinforcement and support of the whole person. Positive reinforcement is important because it connects a good feeling with the completion of a task. Ms. Hamlin respects her students and appreciates the work that they do. Each student has his or her own unique personality which can be expressed through music. Justine coaches her students to explore musical possibilities by forming mental images, creating stories for themselves, and listening to a recommended listening list.
