The coffee was great but the staff was not polite making the experience rough. Person taking my order was rude and short with answers about my coffee order. The employee making my drink called out the wrong name so I asked what was waiting at the bar he told me with attitude and repeated the wrong name looked at the cup and realized he said the wrong name and shoved it toward me.

Stopped in here for a quick bite and caffeine hit before hitting the trails at UC. The café mocha was good, as was the sandwich. Will be back!

My experience is always hit or miss here. The boss lady, whose name I should remember by now, is always nice and strikes up a conversation. If I could give her 5 stars separately, I would. And the place is always clean, so 5 stars there. Pretty good food and smoothies too. Sometimes there are new, younger employees who put on their best smile and try hard to show some customer service, but the guys that have been there for a while just seem… miserable. Like they’re there against their will. There’s a tall guy with glasses and a septum piercing(shocker for a coffee shop, I know) who said some flippant remark to my girlfriend and walked away from us the first time I brought her in. Next time I saw him, he was jovial and joking with customers. It’s taken me 25 minutes to get a bagel with cream cheese before, and other times they’ll hear me order it and have it ready before my coffee is done. I always feel like I’m inconveniencing the baristas by ordering a drink. They have a sticker on their pastry case that says«Resist Corporate Coffee» My inner hippie agrees with that sentiment, but if you want to stay open in a world of Starbucks, you have to deliver something they can’t so people will come to you. The quality of the coffee is inconsistent and some of the staff’s attitudes are bad. I can go to a corporate coffee joint and get a coffee that tastes the same every time made by an employee who won’t give me the stink eye. But I will continue to come back to Java Junction because it’s close to my work and when they get everything right, it’s a really great experience.

The cashier admitted that he had never done register right before taking our order. I got a soy chia and a bagel with hummus. The chia was alright but it tasted too watery. The hummus they have is terrible. I liked the atmosphere

Usually love java junction, but today the employees were standing around chatting about their work schedules and Thanksgiving plans, and the girl helping make sandwiches was absent mindedly touching her mouth without washing her hands afterwards. What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger?

Had some errands nearby, really needed coffee and Java Junction was located in the shopping center I was in. The menu looked good, the food and coffee smelled great and the staff were friendly. Ordered a 2% milk latte, and was really disappointed… I could not taste the coffee, only the milk. This is not why I ordered a coffee beverage instead of a sweetened coffee drink. Won’t be back… unless it’s to try the food.

Good sandwiches and friendly service. Glad we had a coupon, otherwise I might consider it a bit pricey

I have been coming here for 4 years now when it’s convenient. I love their whipped cream and espresso is great great quality! Only reason why it’s not five stars is because it’s never consistent on how good the drinks come out. 7⁄10 are great but always get a crappy one. No hard feeling though!!! I love you guys.

Worst chai I’ve ever had. Ordered an almond milk chai that tasted like water. I’m lactose intolerant, and I’ve been a barista before so I know it’s not that hard to make chai. Would not recommend to a friend. I also ordered a breakfast bagel without cheese that was ok, not great.

I love love love this place! Many mornings I would come here before work and grab a smoothie(tropical storm: D)and a ham & cheese, or spinach & feta croissant. They warm it up for you if you want and the people here are always friendly and quick with orders. A lot of people go here for their morning coffee which I assume is also good but I’m not a big coffee fan. They have an array of teas as well in which I’ve tried there ginger peach tea yum! If you want their fresh baked goods(which they bring every morning from a local bakery) you gotta get there in the morning or all the good stuff is gone! If you’re feeling frisky, they usually have chocolate filled croissants as well!!!

I would say Java Junction is solidly average. The employees are usually helpful and the coffee is coffee, but nothing is notably above average. I have eaten here a few times and never once thought or audibly said«mmmm thats good». Their salad and half sandwich is a pretty good deal because the salad is a full sized grilled chicken salad, but it’s all on par with what you would make at home in a hurry. Coffee wise they have a few different options, but it doesn’t seem the beans are anything special or the people who work here are barista’s per se. They are also always about a person short. For example on a holiday weekend they had one person on the register and one poor girl making all the food and coffee orders, I can see how it would be easy for her to mess something up without meaning to.

I love this place! They give discounts to people who work in the surrounding area, and the staff is always so warm and friendly! They always have smiles on their faces, no matter how busy they get.

The espresso machine died just as I was ordering. Their staff was great and made everything okay for customers whose drinks were already in progress. Breakfast bagel was good, the shop was nice, and the staff was helpful.

My mom ordered a créme brûlée latte with breve and I got a cherry and almond steamer and I have to say I love how smooth they both tasted! Dare I say, it’s better than Starbucks! I love how the coffee here doesn’t have that burnt roast taste to it! If only I didn’t live 25 miles away… totally worth the drive!

I’m surprised by all the negative reviews for Java Junction on River. I guess I can see why people feel the customer service is bad. The baristas don’t really talk to you or thank you when they hand off the drinks — but they also were not rude(during my visit at least) The woman who took my order was actually very nice. ORDERTHEMONKEYBUSINESS! It was so good. It’s peanut butter, soy, bananas, and yogurt blender with ice. Perfect for a warm day! I also got a bagel(which I think are from the Bagelry) and it was perfect too! I really like the«No cellphones when you’re ordering» sign above the counter. It’s cool that they can do that because even as a customer, I find it very rude when you’re trying to order and talk on the phone at the same time. You go, Java Junction!

I went in for a macha frappé and the lady working there did not know what it was even though it was in front of her face. Asked for soy and my frappé tasted more like yogurt than macha. On top of that she was extemely rude and practically threw my drink at me. I’m never going back.

I will never frequent this establishment again. I had an hour to burn, I needed to be in that parking lot so why not a coffee right? Wrong! In the hour that I sat there, at least 15 if not more vagrants came in, made messes in the bathroom that pissed off employees, the dirty mop then gets carried dripping through the dining area, appetizing right? They pulled all their stuff out of their bags setting up their tables like tiny condos and claiming their turf and the whole vibe was horrible. Let me also add that instead of having a milk carafe out, they hand their milk over the counter for people to handle and pour then take it back over the counter when customers are done so they can use it to make drinks. Not a good feeling about their cleanliness. Gross!!! Top that off with the cashier saying«hhhhheeeyyy» and«oooohhh yeah» loudly every damn two minutes and I questioned if I had driven to the shelter in my caffeine deprived stupor. I hate to sound insensitive to the homeless but I am so tired of feeling like I am second class citizen when they take over the parks, sidewalks, biking trails, and now this coffee shop. Two stars because my mocha was decent but I couldn’t drink it after the smell, the dirty dripping mop, and the milk contamination.
