He is the best dentist I have had. Wonderful bedside manner and tremendous follow up. Helped fix my neglected dental issues and worked with me regarding my schedule. A great man. I highly recommend.

Carol is THE BEST, I don’t know how my teeth survived all this time without her. When I floss (every night, that’s right!), I floss for her so that she isn’t disappointed when I see her again. Her easy and funny demeanor make getting your teeth cleaned as positive an experience as it can possibly be. I have had very minimal interaction with Dr Peabody, but when I did meet him he was very nice and did a great job explaining everything. Office staff is always friendly and their overly-​eager appointment reminder system which calls, texts, emails and sends carrier pigeon makes it impossible to forget your appointment.

The best ever! I had the need for extensive dental work. The dr and staff always make me deal welcome which calms my nerves. If you have been afraid to go to dentist– don’t be. See dr Peabody. And btw they have finance options.

Thank god for my mom finding mr Peabody. I have honestly been through some of The worst dentist nightmares when I came to his welcoming office already felt that is after my first appointment I couldn’t believe how great of the word how great of quality his work was and how painless it was. He called that evening to check on me and made me feel like family. His work without a doubt is worth every penny. He has the top of the line equipment and his service is impeccable. I have paid less for work that ruined my life with plenty of dentists in this town that accept insurance and push work on you that shouldn’t be done like removing my good molar at 18 so my teeth space out. now mr Peabody has helped me get past my nightmares and back to being confident about my smile. After my last two crowns here I will never go to another dentist. I highly recommend letting this family take care of you.

Best Dentist in Santa Cruz hands down! I am never in pain after and I love that they work very well with nervous patients like myself! The office staff is very helpful and polite. I also like the fact that he does root canals and general dentistry in the same office. Thank you for making my dentistry experience so relaxing.

Dr. Peabody is a really good dentist.
When we first moved to Santa Cruz I decided to check around (meaning ask around), review Unilocal,etc., etc. before contacting a practice for my dental services..
A few of the reviews weren’t positive, YET most were so I believed the practice was probably pretty darn good. I was right.
Look, if a business’s Unilocal (or other social media) reviews are only positive, I am suspicious because you can’t make every person happy — it’s impossible. There’s just a few people no matter what a person or business does can make happy. It’s either the person is normally negative or is having some personal issue (s) that is making his/​her life miserable & it starts bleeding into other parts of their lives — they can’t recognize it only blaming others not realizing it’s coming from within. I’m a realist.
I also know how medicine works — it’s expensive, it just is. My brother is a cosmetic dentist, husband is in regular medicine (both combined have over 45 years of experience), providing superior work is not like going to McDonald’s for a value meal – paying as little as possible for XYZ.
Great, cosmetic dental work (or plastic surgery) is a specialty. If a patient has complicated dental issues like I do (and some other patients do too) then you have to spend money over and above your dental insurance on an annual basis to have a set of intact teeth or you end up looking like a Halloween character (with missing or discolored teeth).
Dr. Peabody and his staff have been great. Always checking up on you after ANY services have been rendered and if you happen to have complications like an infection, severe pain etc., etc. they will immediately contact a pharmacy of your choice to prescribe Rxs to get underlining problem under control so you aren’t suffering. Then, check up on you again to make sure Rxs are working as prescribed and confirm follow-​up appointment (s) as needed.
Finally, Dr. Peabody is pleasant, extremely knowledgable, beyond experienced, and does great work. Dental hygienist, assistants and receptionists are friendly, accommodating and lovely so your dental experience is as painfree as possible.

This is a rating for Carol at Dr. Peabody’s office who cleaned my teeth. I will most likely leave a full review of my visits with Dr. Peabody after my crown work has been completed; I will say at this juncture though that Dr. Guy Peabody and his staff have provided what I believe to be excellent care. What I found noteworthy was that they (Carol and Dr. Peabody) are great teachers taking the time to provide me with information that other dental offices have not. Great job Dr. Peabody and Carol for this, I like knowing what is going on.
I’m going to make this very simple and easy. The cleaning that I received from Carol at Dr. Guy Peabody’s dental office was the best cleaning I’ve had. Carol, thank you, we appreciate your smile and positivity too. Great job!,…keep up the good work!

Just finished my teeth cleaning with amazing Faye and a consultation with Chelsea for future preventative care. Very happy with my new dentist. They explained everything in detail and made my appointment painless and successful! My bright beautiful smile will be brighter now!

I dislike writing negative reviews. I thought a long time about whether or not to write a negative review, but having been a patient at this office for several years I felt I did have a balanced perspective. Several years ago, when Anne and Jet were the office staff, I would have written a different review. The fees were still EXORBITANT relative to other dentists, but at least the office staff was friendly and helpful and HONEST. My last go round at Dr. Peabody’s office was extremely off-​putting. The current financial staff person was not forthcoming, RUDE and very uptight when I dared to question my bill.
Here is the scenario. I needed a complex filling done, I asked what my insurance would cover (i’ve had the same insurance for 10 years and they HAVE my insurance data on their computer.) She cheerfully said ‘Your insurance covers 60%.” I booked the appointment, knowing I could cover 40% of the bill; it was a stretch but I could do it. The day of the appointment, they have me pay, up front and the amount I have to pay is WAY over 40% of the quoted fee. I asked about this, got the run-​around and grudgingly PAID the amount, feeling pretty angry about it. But I was there, finally at the appointment date and so went ahead. I needed the filling. Later on I phoned the office to get further clarification and when I asked about the quote of «your insurance pays 60%» she finally became so exasperated with me she blurted out the truth: «LOOK! YOUR insurance pays 60% of THEIR fee schedule, not OUR fee schedule! Their fee schedule says this filling should cost $ 187. We charge $ 347! So YOUR insurances pays only 60% of $ 187!» She was really irritated when she told me that. When I said that seemed exorbitant on Dr. Peabody’s end she snapped at me «Dr. Peabody is a PREMIUM dentist! His work is excellent! He charges premium fees!»
Wow. So I left this «premium» dentist and visited a wonderful highly recommended dentist closer to my work and lo and behold, I do NOT have the cavity I had still to be filled acoording to Dr. Peabody, I also did NOT need root planing as they had told me at Peabody’s office. Additionally, Dr. Peabody was going to make a custom mouth splint for me for TMJ and was going to charge $ 900, where my new dentist will make the identical splint for $ 500. My new dentist is every bit as gentle (even more so actually) as Dr. Peabody and also have 3 months to make a co-​pay for more expensive procedures. Dr. Peabody’s office merely tells the patients to take out a Care Credit card and demands all payment up front. Bye bye Dr. P!

I have hated going to the dentist ever since I was a little kid and had awful experiences. I always had terrible pain with procedures and would honestly have preferred to lose all my teeth than to ever try again.
A friend recommended Dr. Peabody very highly and I have been glad ever since that I went. I was treated with kindness and respect. My issues with pain were addressed. I was as comfortable as I could be during long procedures. Dr. Peabody is excellent at explaining what treatments I needed and was exceedingly patient with my many questions. When I had a dental emergency, he called me right away and made sure I got the medications I needed and saw me the next day.
Everyone in the office is always so friendly and caring and just love my dental hygienist.

I went to Dr. Peabody after an abyssmal experience with Dr. Tod Anderson in Aptos. They have restored my faith in dentistry.
The staff — incredible, kind, sweet and sensitive. Great with follow up and care.

Dr. Peabody– Wow! I can’t say enough. I was rather scarred by my last run-​in with a dentist. He was understanding, truly interested in what had happened, kind, professional, level headed. He listens. He is detailed and meticulous — his checkup was the most detailed workup I have ever had (and I have had my share of dental work). The guy knows his stuff and has corrected very poor work that was one in my mouth — which he showed me with digital camera shots and xrays.
I had five hours of reconstructive dentistry with Dr. Peabody and they really took good care of me, offering a light sedative to help me through the work. We’re getting things fixed and I’d recommend them to anyone.
What’s best is that, while their office is rather kitschy… I love it because it has personality. Every single person I have met in this practice HONESTLY CARES about people — and I’d take that over a dental massage chair any day! I think they actually love what they do and they’re good at it. You won’t wait a ton of time before your visit. You will never feel as if they are trying to crank through billable appointments. Two thumbs, WAY UP!

I love Dr. Peabodys office. Everyone there is super nice all the time! They are very high tech. They have all the latest and greatest stuff. You will always feel very comfortable with all the staff there. I came here in the beginning with some pretty bad cavities and I needed a lot of work and they always made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend them! My husband and 10 year old son have been coming here for the last 4 – 5 years!
