I am so thankful to have George represent me in my misdemeanor and infraction cases.
First, George is a great communicator. When I called him, he would either answer his phone or call me back very quickly especially if it was urgent. Normally, I would anxiously wait for a return call from an attorney. Instead, I felt so confident in having him represent me, that I was able to live my life calmly while the case stretched over 4 months. I would have been a basket case if it wasn’t for him. I didn’t have to worry since I knew I was in good hands!
Second, George listens extremely well. A few times, I told him something which he repeated to the judge in a way that was beautifully stated without sounding so obvious. This happened a few times in which I was surprised. He truly listens and I felt respected by George.
Third, George is very honest and forthcoming. If he isn’t aware of some of the Santa Cruz politics, he will tell you and is willing to learn. Each step of the way, he would tell me all of my options and what he believes the chances are in each path I may take.
Fourth, he was a joy to be around. He is very professional, represented my best interests and even has a great sense of humor. His calming demeanor helped me feel assured.
In the end, I was not willing to plea bargain and he respected my wish. He never tried to talk me out of it. This, of course, was my situation. Each person will have a completely different case with different evidence. He was able to get all my cases dismissed.
If I were ever to get in trouble again, since I do quite a bit of civil disobedience in Santa Cruz, I would call George again. I highly recommend him!

I hired George after he got a «not guilty» verdict for a friend of mine. The friend’s case was a misdemeanor but mine was a felony drug charge. Terrible public defender. I was up on a single grand theft charge, he refused to file a motion to suppress a co-​defendants inadmissible «hearsay» statements. He said «it would make you look guilty to file that motion.»
Didn’t show up to court for ANY of my appearances, including the verdict.
Didn’t bother to call me about my court dates.
Convicted. Served 90 days at the Watsonville Work Farm.
