«Specializing in the needs of the body and soul» –Years of education and practice have helped me to cultivate a deeply intuitive understanding of the body and the human psyche, and how they interact with one another. That, in a nutshell, is my practice. I’m here to help you feel better, and I tailor each treatment to fit YOU in the best possible way.

I practice deep tissue integrative energy massage, which is a combination of techniques learned through the years to balance and align the body, empowering it to facilitate health and wellness. I also specialize in pregnancy and fertility enhancing treatments.

As a life coach, I have the skills to help you define who you are in this world, and what you are intended to do while living this human existence. From relationships to jobs, I have the tools to help you achieve clarity and balance.

Hynotherapy and NLP are excellent tools for weight reduction, past-​life regression, self-​worth issues, and interpersonal relationships.

I came to see Melanie early this year and she has been helping me through the hardest time in my life. I started doing MER and hypnotherapy and it took a huge chunk of my problem away surprisingly fast. I want to say that I am a very skeptical person and I do not believe in past lives etc. but MER works in a way that it doesnt matter at all what your beliefs are. The learnings come from within, and I was very surprised to find helpful answers that came from my own self.
She isnt like a typical therapist, she gives you real advice that pertains to your situation. Its not textbook advice that they give the same to everyone. I also like that you get to know her as well, so that you feel like you’re talking to a real person. Often times therapists come across as perfect robot people who have no problems themselves.
She also is not an enabler! Very important!!! She will not let you whine and complain endlessly, you will actually work on your issues here so they get better. She also doesnt make you feel like you’ll be in therapy forever, she believes in you to get better. And she’s helped me so much, Ive made so much progress that at the beginning seemed so impossible.
If you have a problem, even the worst most auful thing, Melanie is the best person to see. Come here if you want to be happy again!

If I could afford it, I would go to Melanie for a weekly tune-​up. I am a long distance swimmer and I first went to Melanie when my back was in spasm and she worked some magic in order to get me back in the water quickly. She is a very professional, knowledgeable and skilled massage therapist. I highly recommend her for sports massage and therapeutic body work.

My neck and shoulder was having sharp pains and I put off doing anything about it for weeks hoping it would just go away…
Finally I broke down in pain and searched Unilocal.
Long story short, after 1 hour I’m 90% better! Excellent service, and fit me right in real quick too.
Best money I spent on myself in years–
I set up another one next week.

STAY AWAY. I’d like to reply to the owner’s comments by saying that she is wrong. I am 100% positive who I went to for my massages. I have proof that she cancels via text and cancels last minute, and even that her massages themselves do not last long or are what is expected. I am very disappointed that she couldn’t at least take some constructive criticism and learn from bad experience and move on. I wish her and her clients luck and sincerely hope that she develops better business styles.

OMG! Melanie is the best massage therapist I have ever used. I have been getting massages for over 20 years, never have I felt so good. The moment you walk up the stairway and open the door… relaxation starts. Melanie makes her own massage oil, it smells and feels amazing. She is kind, intuitive, and can almost read your mind.
I like firm massages, she can do either. I am tickled pink to have found my gem of a therapist in Santa Cruz. Thank you Melanie for sharing your gift of touch.

I HIGHLY recommend massages with Melanie! She is a great listener (with her ears & her hands) & matches the massage to what you & your body need.
I always feel like I’ve given myself & body the ultimate self care when I go see Melanie. She is so very warm, friendly, compassionate & professional. So after a massage, I feel like I’ve gotten a huge dose of supportive, positive energy in addition to the amazing after effect of an expert body treatment. Getting a massage from her is a perfect way to slow down a bit and give my body & myself the attention & nurturing I need. Whenever I feel a bit more stress in my body or just feel like I need to give myself an extra dose of care, I schedule a massage with Melanie. It ALWAYS does the trick!

The best deep massage I have ever gotten, hands down. I have been going to massage therapists for a few years and have recently moved to Santa Cruz and have not been able to find someone who I felt was really able to dig in and help loosen me up, until now.
Melanie has great rapport building and communication skills and is a deft technician. The body work was awesome, at one point I am pretty sure I was drooling! She was very good at listening and asking questions as to my comfort level with the pressure she was putting on sensitive and really tight areas.
Very nice and clean facility with relaxing atmosphere.
I highly recommend going to Melanie for one of the best massages you will ever get.
I am anxious about going back as soon as I can to get more work done!

I went to Melanie for a hypnotherapy session about a week ago after seeing her special on Living Social and her great reviews on Unilocal.I’ll admit I was little apprehensive, since I’ve never tried any kind of hypnosis before, and none of her reviews mentioned the hypnotherapy, but I decided I’d give it a shot. Well, I was NOT disappointed. Not only is Melanie warm & understanding, but the results from our session have been amazing. It’s kind of creepy! Who knew the brain could be that powerfully transformed in an hour and a half? My roommate, who is getting her phD in Psychology, said, «Well, it’s probably just the placebo effect.» I said, «WHO CARES? It’s WORKING!» If I’m organized, waking up on time & happy early in the morning, cooking healthy food for myself and not craving sugar, and working out — I don’t care if it’s because it «really worked» or because I just «believed it would work.» It’s the results that matter — and they are undeniable. I will most definitely be back! Five stars! :-)

Like Jacob G., I too have received many Massages around the world from Thailand to N.Y. But Melanie is simply good. If you read my other reviews you will see that I’m certainly NOT afraid to speak on a business when they SUCK. Melanie has good bedside manner and she is very skilled at really FIXING my broken down body. I am a very Large man and I require someone who has a lot of strength and know how. She is ALL OF THAT. When I first threw my back out I was in TREMENDOUS PAIN so I called my normal masseuse as well as most all others on Unilocal.Melanie was the only masseuse to return my call. My normal masseuse did return my call but she was 2 hours too late. She even rearranged her schedule to accommodate me and she didn’t even know me. Needless to say, I no longer see my old masseuse. I often come to her very busted up and in A LOT of PAIN. when I leave her I feel like a MILLION BUCKS. She is incredible and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her Massage Therapy to any and everyone.

She is so responsive to what I need, always inquiring even though we are now quite familiar. I came to Melanie Sargent when my body was completely beaten up from an intense workout; I needed a sports massage to move the lactic acid around. Melanie’s touch was perfect; deep and thorough and as intense as I needed it to be. Within a few hours after the massage, the pain had decreased and my muscles, particularly my arms and shoulders, felt longer and far more relaxed. I’ve had many many massages and I can honestly say that Melanie is the best practitioner I have been to. What an amazing peaceful, calming session. I’ve found my new masseuse/​life coach. While waiting for my massage I read the glossy brochure. Skeptical me had to figure out what this life coach stuff was about. Through several sessions, Melanie, brought me to places in me I didn’t know existed. I was able to look inward and see and feel things in a new way. I can now look outward and feel confident and peaceful in life. There are tools that I developed that I will use for the rest of my life. I think that for most of us, a piece of our lives is missing and Melanie will help you find it inside of yourself.
