We love Ernie’s! Best prices around. Right across from Wholefoods, always friendly and competitive prices.

Ernie’s owner is as friendly as friendly gets, always calling me «Boss» as I enter the store. He is helpful at making recommendations, even going so far as to invite me to join him to walk into his gigantic beer cooler so he could display his vast array of dozens of craft brews and chilling wines — like a proud papa! On a hot day I once joked that we would come to his store simply to stand in his beer cooler, and he said(with all believable sincerity): «Sure, Boss — anytime you like!» There are always any number of specials like premium gins, vodkas, scotch whiskeys and other higher-end bottles which the owner is quick to point out either meet or beat prices around town — he even meets or beats Costco prices on several better bottles. That says a lot for a small local shop, and it is clear Ernie’s works hard to earn your repeat business. He wants to know what your favorites are so he can price them as low as possible so you keep coming back. That combination of getting to know customers and great prices is seldom found at other stores. We keep returning to Ernie’s(right across the street from Whole Foods). While the store is a little crowded and you have to be careful walking around, and sure, a few bottles are dusty, Ernie’s aggressive low prices(on some items), very helpful service and excellent selection means we have found a comfortable, friendly local liquor store.

Based on beer alone, I’d say it’s average. Good selection(beats the hell out of Rite Aid across the street, which barely has anything in a six pack), but I’d say the prices are a tad on the high side. Good, friendly customer service.

Great selection– 4 Stars Great prices– 4 Stars Crappy service– 1 Star– and what this review is based on Dear Dude, Your customers are the lifeblood of your store. It would behoove you to keep that in mind prior to speaking to us so condescendingly. Clearly not everyone who walks into a liquor store is experienced in knowing the differences in wine, which is why I asked for your help in selecting a bottle for my 6th wedding anniversary. Acting impatient while I stared at your shelf in confusion did not help either. Instead of barking«there are no such things as a good sparkling wine» you should have said«I’m not really a fan of that type of thing» and made a more appropriate suggestion. Any suggestion would have been nice rather than the cold snappy statement you made. Yes folks– he left me there staring at the shelf without so much as another word! I am a big supporter of buying from the«mom and pop» type stores but after my experience here, I will not be back.

Only downside is that he doesnt carry singles or delicious high alcohol fruity ass drinks that I sometimes like I get when I am feeling like having a Carol Channing kinda evening. But there always very good vodka bottle specials and the owner fellow(Ernie, perhaps?) is very friendly and cool. Good people make coming to any establishment a no-brainer.

I have only been to Ernie’s a couple of times but every time he makes you feel like you’re a regular. Always sharing his knowledge and opinion of what he offers. His prices are really good for some, not all varieties. He loses a star because he doesn’t carry mini bottles, pints or .375ml. Sorry, but part of the reason I go to a liquor store is because I I’m looking for what the grocery stores don’t offer.

I prefer Lloyd’s liquors up the street but when in doubt and I forgot something and needed it for my jungle juice recipe. these guys came through. the store is kinda dirty… like the musty dirty to the extent where you can see dust on the bottles. maybe that is the«vintage» section

Booze booze booze. Over the years our consistent and unquenchable taste for beer and whiskey has in most part been provided to us from none other than dear sweet Ernie. Good sales. Great Microbrew kegs. Thx man. We owe ya one.
