History

Established in 2007.

Cypress is the result of many people dedicated to delivering a fresh approach to entertainment and dining. Our dining room is a former machine shop and ambulance depot (look out for the resident ghosts). We’re proud of our vaulted ceilings, concrete floors and exposed brick. The large patio was designed according to sacred geometry it’s said. A long history has contributed to the positive energy that flows through this unique space. We’d love to introduce ourselves and share it with you.

Meet the Manager

Chef Damon T.

Manager

Chef Damon Transue was raised in the bay area in a family who loved food. His earliest memories were dining at the Latin, Asian and soul food restaurants of San Fransisco and Oakland. His mother had him helping out with the kitchen duties by the time he could walk and talk which left him in charge of all family dinners upon her passing when Damon was 13. By this time the family had already relocated to Georgia where Damon was soaking up the flavors and cooking techniques of the area in family kitchens and back yard barbecues. After 4 years in Georgia, the family once again relocated this time moving to Austin, Texas were Damon would spend the next 10 years working in various restaurants honing his craft. After returning to the bay area in 2004 Damon spent the next few years translating his family’s cooking into a restaurant kitchen. Now, Chef has finally began to realize his vision of a modern Southern cuisine blending new and traditional flavors and techniques with local ingredients.
