Coast Counties Towing

My daughter broke down at night in Moss landing on a dark stretch of highway 1. We called our roadside assistance and they sent out coast. It took them a little while to get out but they assured me they were on it. Mike arrived and made my daughter feel safe and secure immediately. They were fair to us on the rate for the beyond miles to our home in Santa Cruz and when they got here Mike was very helpful and patient. Thanks Mike and Coast counties.

Today I called 21^st century, my auto insurance, because I accidentally locked myself out of the car while at the beach, and a super sweet guy, Jake, came to the rescue like a half hour before the ETA! I mean, the ocean was like the best place to be locked out of your car, but today is Thanksgiving and Jake was on call, and came with a sweet attitude and a quick solution. Lovely customer service, efficient and good work! 10 stars!

Well, I don’t know what to say about the several, angry «one star» reviews for this company. What I know is that we were broken down yesterday, in the rain, in Scott’s Valley, and Geico sent us a guy from Coast Counties. He arrived exactly when he said he would, and, instead of just towing us to the mechanic we’d chosen, he started troubleshooting. He banged on things, popped the hood and poked around and discovered the problem– which turned out to be something we could take care of, ourselves. The guy’s name is «Matt», and he was kindness, itself, seeming to want to tow the car only as a last resort. We drove home to Oakland last night, and I’m writing this review to thank Matt, for taking the time to help us, a lot more than we expected. If he represents the quality of Coast Counties, they’re pretty damned good. Thanks, Matt.

I will not use this towing company again. My insurance company (21^st century) sent them over to come get me and I regret using their services.
$ 127 to bring me 6 miles to the nearest mechanic. Non-​transparent billing/​fees makes it feel as if they are taking advantage of you. I called to simply make sure I was charged correctly and the flustered receptionist (Melissa) was borderline incompetent and in need of a serious nap and/​or hug.

excellent service– fast and extremely punctual. Had a vehicle towed from Santa cruz to San leandro and everything went perfect. Will definitely recommend for that area.

My work truck broke down in front of my office today. The Ford Road-​Side assistance called Coast Counties Towing to bring my truck to the dealership. THREE HOURS LATER I find out from Ford that the driver said that he showed up and that somebody denied the tow. TOTAL SACK OF LIES!!! I am the only one here and have been watching my truck from my desk all afternoon. Now a new tow truck company is on its way and HOPEFULLY can get me to the Ford Dealership before it closes so that i can get a loaner vehicle.

I really do believe that 1 star is too many! I was in a motorcycle accident that put me in the hospital for a few days. My motorcycle was towed by this company. Long story short, they charged me $ 510 for towing and storage for 3 days, then they tried to charge me an illegal lien fee of $ 70 on top of that. When the owner realized his mistake he tried to pass it off as if he was doing me a favor by not charging me the fee. I am going to be reporting them to the CHP as to what they tried to do. A thorough investigation will probably cost them their contract with them.
