Nicholas Aire Systems

Our contractor used them for an addition we had done. We had part of our duct redone as well at the time that were old and smashed. The duct work to the new addition and what they replaced never really worked right. We tried to call them to have them come out and look at it and they wouldn’t even come see what the problem was. The owner tried to blame it on the rest of the duct work in the house, which has always worked just fine.

Had one of the AC unit fan blade break. Called Nicholas Aire, technician came promptly, replaced the blade, and the unit is now working again without problems. Count me in as a highly satisfied customer.

Very professional, prompt, and fair. After our furnace became completely unresponsive, I figured I would be in for several hundred dollars to replace a controller board. But Jeff quickly diagnosed a problem with the door switch so I ended up paying the minimum visit charge ($ 98). It’s great to work with such professionals who treat you fairly and don’t try to sell you something you don’t need. I’ll definitely use them for my future heating and A/​C repairs.

NAS… is just the best … We have used Nick for years to keep our old system running … well it was time to upgrade to a new system and at the same time save a few dollars on operating costs… On install day the staff was great with keeping our home clean … drop cloths went down and they treated my home like it was theirs… the install went smooth and all the guys are super friendly … Not just installers but true technicians they know the product line and they know how to adjust the install if anything comes up … Thanks Nick, Donna and Jeff… if they ever retire… well I guess we will just live with «Hot» air… Thanks Steve.

My house was very climate friendly… whatever temp it was outside, it was that same temp inside a half an hour later. I called in an insulation guy (Ed Devore) to give me a quote on insulating the attic. He found various ducting problems that needed fixing before he could proceed and suggested Nicholas Aire Systems do the fix. Nicholas suggested a complete system change-​out, which I could understand as the whole system was at least 30 years old and, at best, not very energy efficient. They gave me a great price on two different systems (I chose the most efficient option), had a very likeable crew, and did the job on schedule. It sounds like a small item, but they put in great thermostats that are easy and intuitive to use, allow me to schedule everything, and even communicate with my cell phone. They could have gone cheap and installed low-​end items as brand/​model of the thermostats was not specified in the contract.
The insulation guy then finished the attic insulation. This place is now super comfortable! It heats and cools quickly. This is an old single-​pane window house that wasn’t that well insulated before hand and, I can only imagine, was a heating/​cooling nightmare for the very first occupants and everyone going forward for over 30 years. We regularly get temps over 100 degrees in the summer and probably a dozen or so frost nights (plant killers) in the winter. So there was definitely a challenge to overcome. I’m most happy with the price! Having been a real estate appraiser for 27 years and having rehabbed several houses, I am aware of the costs for such things as well as what can go wrong when picking poor contractors!
Today I got a call from their office, asking to come do the free six-​month inspection. I told them how happy I was with the system and they suggested letting the world know. So there you are. And don’t forget the insulation guy… a killer team.

Our heater went out on us. They had a technician out the next day. Tim was great and had us nice and warm right away. He was knowledgable, very clean and fast. He came the next day cleaned out our heater. It was amazing how much dirt was clogging our heater. Donna in the office was so nice and called when Tim was coming. I’ll use them anytime

NAS arrived on time and fixed our heating unit as promised, Tim was great and very polite and informative!

It has been 4 months now since NAS replaced my Air Conditioner and I can’t remember a better investment. Final cost was slightly less than negotiated and absolutely NO surprises. Nicholas met Johnny and Lonnie every morning before the day’s work and shared with me exactly what that day would hold. It was a clean easy process and my energy costs have been slashed. You guys are the BEST!

My air conditioning system was failing when I called Nick. I had already had another contractor out and I didn’t trust them. Am I glad I called nick. I’m a retired building inspector and have worked with large contractors for years and understand the industry. Nick gave me options and suggested installing a radiant barrier and upgrading my ceiling insulation. He installed a 16 seer rated system and I had the insulation and radiant barrier installed. In less than a week the insulation was installed and the old system was removed and new one up and running. I highly recommend the wifi thermostat, my wife can adjust he temp on the way home from work and the house is perfect. I can’t say enough about this family run business. Also I had gotten 2 other estimates and Nick was a better value and installed a superior system for less. The insulation contractor was exceptional also. Our first electric bill appears to be about $ 150 less than last years and the electric company raised the rates during that time.

My Air conditioner is so nice and quiet now that N.A.S came and fine tuned and calibrated the pressure to meet the manufacturers standard. I can no longer hear my A/​C from inside the house. I actually have to walk over to see if it’s running. It was so loud I didn’t run it at night for fear of waking up the neighborhood. I honestly thought i was going to have to buy a new system. I’m so glad I called Nicholas Aire Systems. If you need someone you can trust and that will do the job right call N.A.S. Tim came out and did a very thorough job and I couldn’t be more pleased. If you’re looking for someone to come and help you, you can stop looking. If i need anything heating or cooling related done, in the future, i will not hesitate to call them. Thank you Tim. Saw the positive reviews here, decided to have these guys come and perform a check up on our system. They quoted me the price over the phone and scheduled the appointment.
The technician arrives, does not know why he was dispatched to our house. He tells us our system was still functional and says that he could have done some more urgent jobs. He tells us that the system is fine and wants to know what he wants up to check, I told him to do what was required. I then proceed to ask if the system needs refrigerant, and says it will be extra if he wants me to add it. I noticed the outside unit was not even cleaned, didn’t even bother to brush off the cobwebs. I have used other HVAC companies in the past, so I have an idea of what is involved in the maintenance of the system. Disappointed with this company, won’t be using them again.

Middle of summer and my AC starts blowing hot air all of a sudden. I have an 18mo old and a pregnant wife in the house and needed service asap. Found NAS Heating & Air quick and easy, great reviews, and closest to my home. Mary was very sweet and sensitive to our needs over the phone and made ‘same day service’ in August a reality! Tim the serviceman was here within a couple of hours and got right to work. Prompt, Friendly and Professional. All the qualities we were looking for. He quickly diagnosed and pinpointed the problem. Had the part on his truck and we are up and running again in no time. A consummate pro! Will definitely call again if need be and recommend to my neighbors. Thank you NAS!

Had a great experience with Nicholas Aire who expertly completed a repair on my Lennox AC system. The whole experience from beginning to end was as perfect as I could ask for. From Donna in the office who made my appointment and is a sweet and fun person to talk to, to Tim the technician who performed the repair.
Tim came out to the house (on time) and after running several tests and checking a bunch of this and thats, determined that my AC blower motor was out. He ran a few more tests to make absolutely certain the motor itself was frozen. After speaking with the office, Tim offered me a choice between two different replacement motors (OEM or aftermarket). I like that I had a choice. I was given a quote for the parts and labor, I said «go for it», and the install was completed this morning. On time, not a penny over my original quote, and installed expertly by a seasoned pro who clearly knows exactly what he is doing.
After the work, Tim was putting a sticker with Nicholas Aire’s phone number on the panel of my AC when we both laughed at all the other stickers that were stuck on it. I told him there’s a reason why there are so many stickers, and that reason is because I never had enough trust in any of the other companies to call them twice. Well this time, I asked Tim to go ahead and remove all the other stickers and leave only the NAS sticker because that is the only company that will be repairing my AC/​Heating from this point on.

We called NAS after our AC basically shut down. They gave us some free advice over the phone and said «Call us back tomorrow if that didn’t fix it.» I was very impressed. Then the AC shut down again so I called them back and they sent out a technician. Their technicial smelled like smoke and swore at his tools the entire time. Then he said we need a new evaporation unit which would cost $ 1,000 but that might not fix the problem because the whole HVAC is pretty old. He said we can get a new evaporation unit and hope it does the trick and then replace the entire thing in a year or two OR we can just replace the whole thing now. That would cost $ 8,000-$ 9,000. We called another company to get a second opinion and they sent out a technician who said «It’s just dirty.» He cleaned it for under $ 400 and it’s been working wonderfully for the last three weeks. So while my initial experience with NAS was really good and I was going to write them a favorable review for giving me free advice and saving me from paying the service charge, their diagnosis and quote missed the mark by a mile.
UPDATE: We got an email from NAS explaining that they’re in the midst of having a family emergency and the technician should have also given us a quote for cleaning the unit. I’m changing my review from 2 stars to 3 stars because they finally gave us the right diagnosis but it was only one of three options. Every experience with them has been great, except the technician’s visit/​diagnosis/​recommendation.

Tim was great. He crawled into my considerably tiny attic and got the AC up and running in about 30 minutes. He came back a week later for a permanent fix and was clean, quick and courteous. Big thanks to Donna in the office as well, very professional and gracious over the phone.
Nicholas Aire seems to have a business plan that involves professionalism and customer service, and there’s nothing wrong with that. They aren’t out to make a quick buck, they’re trying to build a business by providing great service. I can’t recommend them enough.

We lost A/​C yesterday on Father’s Day… called them this morning. Someone had cancelled this afternoon so they were at our house by 3:30.
They checked the system went outside to the compressor/​replaced 2 capacitors and the air is now pumping at 59 degrees after having a entire day of it being over 90+. They were really efficient, professional and I now have a A/​C Heating Team I will recommend to everyone. Thanks.

Well this place is awesome. I was having a small AC issue in my condo and I had no idea who to call. So I went to help and found these guys with all 5 stars. So I called them up and they came right on time. The gentleman by the name of Kevin was awesome. He was very professional and did a great job. He checked out everything and services my AC and everything is now perfect. They are very very reasonable on pricing and I would ONLY call them in the future.

I just wanna say that these folks are on the up and up, and you can trust them for great service. Starting with scheduling a service call. I had to change the date several times because of several miscalculations on my part, but they were able to accommodate me every single time until we got it right.
Also, when Jeffrey showed up he was very professional and informative. He explained everything he was doing and gave me some useful hints to help my system work better. So now I am very confident that I will be getting the most efficient use from my system.
In conclusion, I just want to say that I highly recommend them for any air system service you might need.

About a year ago, during a particularly nasty heat wave, our air conditioned died. Our home was less than 2 years old at the time, so this was NOT something we were expecting to deal with. After calling our home builder to tell them how totally furious we were, we went to Unilocal to find someone to help us.
We called Nicholas Aire after reading other Unilocal reviews and I am SO glad that we did. They were able to get someone out to see us right away, got the problem diagnosed quickly and even better, got the problem fixed right away without spending an arm and a leg.
What I appreciated the most was the amazing customer service, especially from the office. Taking care of the billing was a cinch and I loved that I found a reputable family company that I know we can depend to take care of any issues that come up in the future.
Could not recommend them more!
