Wow I love this L.Y.T.E Dance studio. My daughters 1^st day and she already feels like home and everyone makes everyone feel important. From the youth to the adults. I’m so excited to see my daughters talents flourish because the instructors are on point, passionate and professional. They know their stuff…

So glad I found this gem of a dance studio for my daughter! Love the friendly staff and professional dance teachers. Highly recommended.

My daughter started dancing here a couple of months ago and she loves it. Great teachers! She has now joined their crew team and loves all her friends their. It’s so nice everyone is like family to each other. Come check it out!

OKAY, NOW FOR A REAL REVIEW:
PROS: Amazing choreography and great music. Fun. The owner is a gifted talent of a dancer and choreographer.
CONS: The owner is all about the money money money money money. This is true. The classes are over crowded and the owner has absolutely no regard for capacity. Please feel free to stop by any evening hip hop class and see for yourself. There is no limit to capacity. My child was kicked, scratched, slapped and cut in the eye (all on accident of course) due to the overcrowded class. It was ridiculous. I brought this to the owner’s attention but she could care less. Again, money is the key factor here.
Within a year, the owner cancelled quite a few classes at the last minute that she was expected to teach. SO last minute that a few kids showed up and had no clue until they checked their phones. They continued the classes without her more than once per her specific instruction, via text messages. Later, she text’d the kids (NOT the parents as she SHOULD HAVE) saying that she would make up the missed classes to them. She NEVER DID make up a single class the entire year. On top of this, she refused to credit these classes to the parents that she irresponsibly missed! Wow. I say wow because she is extremely meticulous about not missing a beat when it comes to charging parents over every single little thing.
The owner will try to encourage your child to sign up (okay, let’s call it audition) for a team aka crew. Once you sign your child up, ohhhhh get ready for ALL of the unexpected pop up competitions and their fees you had no idea lied ahead, despite the BS competition schedule they give you upon signing up. It’s overwhelming financially. SO… if you want to bring your child to this school, don’t sign them up on a crew. As a parent, I promise you that you will be sorry. You will thank this Unilocal review later.
The owner means well but has absolutely no idea how to run a business. Trust me. I have a degree in business and I have owned a very successful business for over 15 years. This is no business. It’s a joke in the office. They once had a very sweet girl that managed the office. Once she quit or was fired, it was all downhill from there and remained a mess from thereon.
Lastly, there is so much favoritism in this school by the owner herself. You will continuously see the same teacher’s pets up front and center and getting all of the attention, despite the amazingly talented dancers in the back row. I have witnessed this month after month after month. The pets never changed and such talented and gifted kids came and went. That was sad to see.
In the end, my child pleaded with me to take her out of LYTE. She felt bad because she loved to dance and loved the kids at LYTE, however she too felt the mess of the studio, it’s disorganization, favoritism… all of it. My kid is observant, sharp and knew she deserved more respect. This school was not for her, so she said. A few months later, my child and I found a real professional dance studio outside of Santa Clarita. It’s a murch further drive but so well worth it. This school is spectacular and is top notch with amazing talent. My child even earned a part in an upcoming soon to be released dance spot with LMFAO. She has improved greatly as a dancer and I credit this to both LYTE and her new amazing studio.
This review is nothing personal and there are no hard feelings. I just know that as a business woman and in all fairness, parents need to read this review so they know what they are truly up against. My child learned from this school good and bad. In the end we wouldn’t take anything back, however, we will never go back.

I am so thrilled I found this dance studio. The owners William & Tanya are wonderful and cool to say the least. I was looking for a hip-​hop dance class for my 6 year old daughter. They let me do trials on the classes before I paid and committed so my daughter could see what she liked the best. My daughter has so much fun and she is learning to dance like JLo. All the dance teachers are professional, personable and full of swag. Great vibes at this studio. This is the real deal. The coaches are in underground dance crews.

Good studio! I’ve only tried it once so far so don’t have much to go off of. Here’s my first impression (keep in mind I’m coming San Diego where we have several hip hop studios– so it’s really hard to compare to that when your used to culture shock, studio fx, and the box.)
Pros– very friendly staff, clean, class started on time and ended on time, students are friendly — atmosphere was friendly and professional, two studio rooms, a restroom in each studio room
Cons– a little hard to find at first, dark parking lot, not many options for adult only hip hop classes (but this is typical in scv)
Suggestions–
1) offer first class free as a trial instead of $ 5. Most studios give first class free
2) try and gather info from adults, possibly open up another adult class (even though I’m sure all classes are great, most adults want to take with other adults)
3) list new phone number and cross streets on Unilocal
4) if adult classes open, a class card/​lower adult drop in rate around $ 13 would attract more adults

I was looking for a professional dance studio for my daughter and stumbled upon this place (thanks for the fellow Unilocalers), so glad I did. The instructors are very nice, especially Averi. Also, I really love the way how they let you make up the missed classes due to holidays or personal reasons, never seen that anywhere. So far, my daughter has attended 4 makeup sessions without any problem, all I have to do is call ahead. My daughter is very happy because of all the positive experiences and I am very pleased with them.

My daughter has been dancing here for about 4 months now. She loves everyone there and has learned so much and is challenged to work harder. She is on a dance crew and just loves it! Looking forward to this long term relationship.

I am truly blown away by what Tawnya and her team has done with my daughter in the short amount of time they have worked with her. After 5 years of dance at other studios, 4 – 10 hour weeks… in less than a month (1 class a week at L.Y.T.E.) she was finally able to freestyle without guidance or self-​doubt.
This studio doesn’t just teach your kids to perform, they build character, honor, strength, commitment, humility and most important, they reinforce what L.Y.T.E. means (Live Your Truth Every Day). I am so happy we found this dance school. Tawnya McCoy the owner is amazing. She greets you with a hug and/​or huge smile almost always. There is NEVER any negativity, whining or complaining there. It’s sort of as if they spray or sprinkle kindness dust on you as you enter the front door. Positive reinforcement, reassurance, kindness and love goes a long way with children. Some people are just born to lift you up, Tawnya and her staff do that very well.

Ok, here’s my story. I started dancing when I was 19 (most kids start before they’re 10), and it’s been a wild ride. I would go down all the way to North Hollywood to take classes, which were all incredible. But life happens, and it wasn’t feasible for me to make the trip there on a regular basis anymore. So I stopped dancing for almost a year. When you start dancing, it is very difficult to stop. From earlier experience, I had found out that Santa Clarita has great dance studios, but very few (if any) offer classes for adults. Freestyling alone has its place, but I was looking for a class where I could jam with others!
I had almost given up hope that I would be able to find a studio, and then on a whim, I decided to look up «hip hop classes for adults» in Santa Clarita here on Unilocal.That search led me here to LYTE.
Long story short, I am one lucky girl because this place is just… wonderful. There’s a place for everyone and anyone who wants to dance. Bring your A-​game because that is what’s expected — nothing less. Thank you Tawnya and Averi and everyone who makes LYTE possible!

Probably the best dance studio in SCV, everybody’s so nice, the choreographers know what their doing. The owner knows exactly how to run a business and be a choreographer as well. LYTE opens so many opportunities for all types of dancing and exposes you to the dancing industry mentally and physically. I highly suggest that you try LYTE for any type of dance, it’s amazing.

I took my kids to this studio for the first time today and I must say we were pleasantly surprised. We have been looking for a dance studio for a while that offered a strict, friendly staff but also a great non watered down raw type of dance. This appears to be the place. I realize we just did the trial today but watching the other kids coming in to the studio they ALL seemed very happy and motivated. I also ran into some parents offering positive things to say about the studio and the instructor. It seemed like many kids were looking to be in show business but my kids just want to have fun and learn some moves I learned many many years ago on the streets and then some! If your looking for a great little hidden gem you will find it here. The prices are great to. As soon as I can afford it we will be back!

Where else can you learn professional-​grade hip hop in a positive, nurturing environment? Nowhere! LYTE Dance Studio is the place to be… whether you’re 6 or 86, boy or girl, man or woman! And the dance moms are pretty cool too — come join us!

I think L.Y.T.E dance is one of the best experience I have ever had in a dance studio, Its so fun it’s good for all ages. Everytime i go to dance i fill welcomed there as if i was family. Tawnya the choreographer is amazing, She is friendly and always helping us learn new dances, to help advance our skills. I love it ther cause it has both genders who share the same intrest in dancing.

L.Y.T.E. is dance… L.Y.T.E. is love… My daughter LOOOOOOVES going to her Hip-​Hop classes with Tawnya. She is such a wonderful teacher… great dancer… and a beautiful person inside and out… I enjoy the words of encouragement and advice she gives to her students. Her classes are so much fun… they even make me want to stand up and dance with them! Give her a try… just ONE time… I assure you that you WILL comeback!
