Dr. Kantor is dual fellowship trained in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and completed a year fellowship in joint replacement surgery in San Diego. He then went on to a sports medicine fellowship at Stanford University, spending one year with the San Francisco 49ers and San Francisco Giants.

Dr. Kantor has been established here for over 8 years, enjoys being a part of the community and continues to provide unparalleled care to his patients. His practice covers general orthopedic surgery — sprains, strains, fractures, sports injuries, work-​related injuries, personal injury cases, arthroscopy, knee replacements and arthritis care.

Dr Kantor saw my husband after he fell off a ladder. He worked us in for a same day appointment he did a thorough exam, re X-​rayed and found a second break. He was not rushed and offered alternatives to surgery! He is kind, thorough and very competent!

As another person stated Dr. Kantor is a waste of money and time. He gave us things and said it was covered under insurance and low and behold we get a bill showing that everything he gave us was not covered. Now we are constantly being harassed in regards to this sky high bill which we don’t plan on paying since we were lied to! Never returning to this office!

Dr. Kantor was really friendly when we were there in his office. However, his main focus was just on giving my wife injections to help her with the pain, which was fine… BUT be sure to clarify with them what your insurance covers. Dr. Kantor reassured us that our insurance covered the injections & other services. When I came in to his office to have my knee checked out, he reassured me that the «spider knee brace» was covered under my insurance. To our surprise we get a bill in the mail 6 MONTHS after our visit with a bill for $ 900. I contested the bill, but after a minimum attempt to rectify the bill I was told there was nothing that can be done & somehow without us knowing about it, these are all expenses that we have to pay out of pocket. If my wife & I had known that we would have been charged for these serves, we would not have went to Dr. Kantor’s office. We were mislead & lied to about what was covered under our insurance plan, but no one at Dr. Kantor’s office will accept responsibility.
All I can recommend to other people is to make sure you know what you are covered for, don’t just trust what they tell you.

I have been extremely pleased with Dr. Kantor. He takes the time to explain everything and answered all my questions. My shoulder surgery was a success. I’m very pleased with the outcome. The entire «Staff Team» are amazing.

Dr Kantor was the first orthopedic surgeon that was able to help me with my chronic hip and leg pain. I had been to 7 different doctors over four years, and did not get as much help as he gave me. He determined the root cause of my problems. I highly recommend him to anyone who is having orthopedic paint.

So far so good with Dr. Kantor. I just wish my Primary Care Physician and insurance co. would have referred me to him sooner. I spent a lot of time and co-​pay money going to physical therapy first when it probably would have been more beneficial to see Dr. Kantor for his expert opinion first and a cortisone injection earlier on. It looks like I’m heading for surgery, so I’ll have more experience with Kantor Orthopedics then, but through cortisone injection and MRI he has been easy going and helpful.

As a medical doctor, I have had much experience with the medical profession. I am happy to be able to make an appointment with Dr. Kantor when I have a physical problem. Recently, I suffered a fall from my bicycle resulting in a large seroma on my left hip. After consulting with two other physicians whose advice was not very helpful, I called Dr. Kantor’s office and was seen the same day. After a necessary x-​ray, the problem on my hip was taken care of properly and efficiently.
The office staff is friendly and helpful along with the medical assistants.
Hopefully I do not have any more physical problems, but if they occur I will call Dr. Kantor first.

I was seen by Dr. Kantor and was very happy with my choice of doctors. Their entire staff was extremely nice and helpful. I didn’t feel rushed but did feel like my time was valuable.
I went for shoulder pain and the Dr looked at my MRI, X-​Rays, and then the reports. He brought in a model of a shoulder and a diagram. He explained my exact issue and showed me in each scan what he found.
I needed a cortisone shot to reduce my inflammation before he felt it was appropriate to make a full diagnosis on proceeding. I was scared instantly of the shot. While he went to get someone I searched the Internet about the shot, which made it worse. Everything I read said theses shots are extremely painful. He came in and I instantly tightened up. When he gave me the shot I asked when is the real shot and if that was something just to numb me. He said I was done and that was it for now.
WOW, I didn’t hardly feel a thing and my shoulder felt better instantly.
I am continuing to see him for treatment and would highly recommend him for anyone. I would guess the person that didn’t like him probably has an overdue bill. Everyone I saw leaving had smiles on their faces and were very happy with their visit… including me!

I have never written a review on Unilocal before, but I just have to let everyone know about my experience with Dr. Kantor and the staff. My 4 year old daughter fractured her arm and it’s heart breaking to see her in pain and in tears. I didn’t know any Orthopedics in our area so I had to make a decision and took a chance on a doctor who had a great Unilocal review, Dr. Kantor. When I took my daughter in, she was in tears in the room as we waited for Dr. Kantor to see her. The magic happened when Dr. Kantor came into the room, he was great talking to her and calming her down. He took time with her and gave us great advice on what we need to do. She stopped crying right away and she was comfortable with him and so was I. It really shows how much he cares and it’s no wonder that he has a great Unilocal rating. For the past month, we had couple of follow up appointments and I also have to say how great the whole staff is on taking a true interest in getting my daughter better.
Thank you Dr. Kantor and staff for making our visits very pleasant and taking care of my daughter !!!

Had a knee go out and refused to go to a «practice» that you are a number, not a person. Found Dr. K online through patient ratings. He is very personable and explains in laymans terms what is wrong. I needed rapid relief from the pain and discomfort, after xrays and a mri, I found out my meniscus was torn. I opted for the shot and had relief in a week. He informed me that it’s maximun effective relief range was 4 to 6 weeks before the pain would start again. When it goes next time I will probably do the arthroscopic surgery. Dr. K is fantastic, and his staff dead on in getting you in on time. I highly recommend his practice.

I started off 2015 with breaking my finger while on vacation. I had just changed insurance companies and hadn’t picked a primary care physician yet. I knew I had to see an Orthopedist so I researched them in my network. I read up on Dr. Kantor and chose a doctor who could refer me to him. He got me in right away. The office is conveniently located on Lyons Ave. with plenty of parking and a great pharmacy two doors down. The office was very clean and I can’t say enough about the staff. They are so nice and so very accommodating and efficient. They are equipped to take x-​rays right there in the office so you don’t have to leave and come back. I really liked Dr. Kantor and loved the fact that he didn’t just try to do surgery. My husband sprained his ankle at the gym last week and we are back visiting Dr. Kantor’s office once again. My husband feels the same way I do about Dr. Kantor and his staff. He feels he is getting the best treatment possible. We have had nothing but positive experiences here and would recommend Dr. Kantor to anyone.

My wife has suffered a lot of knee pain but Doctor Kantor, orthopedic surgeon who performed surgery on her knee has brought her relief from this constant pain she goes through. What I see is a great Doctor who has a great bedside manner. Kudos for this person.

Best around. He was a mechanical engineer designing devices. Then went back to Med School. I’ve been there for both shoulders and my knee. He gave me options for my knee instead of running to get it replaced. Two years later pain free. I have NEVER waited more than 10 minutes of the appt time. I went to one near Bridgeport and after 45 minutes I was still in the lobby. I’m a patient not a number.

Hack.
I got referred to him because of hip pain. He ordered an MRI for me, and when I came back to get the results, he didn’t even look at the scans. He just read the technician’s report. I could have done that from home.
He then told me that he didn’t even know how to do the surgery I needed and I had to go see somebody else. After wasting weeks of my time at his office, he then refers me to a specialist that is out of my insurance’s network. The process of getting his referral denied and then getting an appointment at an approved doctor took so long that my surgery got pushed into the New Year where my deductible reset and it’s now going to cost me much more money.
Even though he did nothing but waste my time and money during my visits to his office, I later get a bill and they’re charging me even more money. If you asked me what I am paying for, I honestly couldn’t give you an answer.

Dr. Kantor’s office is wonderful. They took great care of me when I was in severe pain in the neck. Manny’s a pleasure to work with. He makes everything easier which is what you need when you’re in pain. I recommend them highly.

Definitely 5 Stars! The entire office staff as well as the ability of Dr Kantor are beyond par. He is super attentive and always patiently answers questions (even my stupid ones). He is super skilled at orthopedics, and my surgery was performed flawlessly.
He handled all of my aftercare and directed everyone involved in my course of treatment.

I was referred to Dr. Kantor due to a knee and wrist problem. The office staff got me an appointment quickly and were very professional and kind.
Doctor Kantor is very knowledgable and worked with me to deal with my wrist until it was healed and my knee for several months. I can’t say enough about his great work. Honesty and Knowledge. He saw me through my treatment and my medical hassles with insurance. His services were reasonable and his follow up care excellent. I would recommend him to anyone with orthopedic issues.
I look forward to working with him as I take the next steps with my knee and feel confident that I am getting the best care. He is excellent.
