My practice is limited to endodontics (root canal procedures). We routinely perform conventional root canal treatment, surgical root canal treatment, and root canal retreatment. We are experts in alleviating pain. We handle dental emergencies quickly and efficiently. Everything about my endodontic practice is set up to deliver quality, efficient endodontic treatment in a friendly, comfortable environment. We are proud to work closely with the best dentists in the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas. History

Established in 1985.

John T. Evans, D.D.S., Practice Limited to Endodontics, has been practicing endodontics full time in Santa Clarita since 1985. Thousands upon thousands of Santa Claritans have received root canal treatment by me over the years. I appreciate the opportunity to provide my skills and service to my friends and neighbors, the dentists and people of the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas.

Dr. Evans, and his office, is the best!
From the moment we called to book the appointment we were treated with kindness and understanding. We had an emergency situation and needed to get in right away, we were able to book of the very next day.
I was so worried about my son, having to have a root canal so young, but Dr. Evans took the time to explain the procedure fully to both of us. Dr. Evans was so kind and patient with my son. His office is very relaxing and quiet. I mentioned this and the dental hygienist told me they only work on one patient at a time.
Now that we have found Dr. Evans, I wouldn’t let any other dentist treat anyone in our family for a root canal.

Unfortunately I’ve had lots of dental work through the decades, so have had many dentists. I just had a root canal retreated by Dr. Evans. He did a fantastic job by ensuring I was comfortable the entire time in the chair. But what I really appreciated was his detailed explanation of everything. Other dentists seem to rush through that part.

I had a very nice experience at Dr. Evans office. Was super nervous about getting a root canal done but he assured me that it wouldn’t be as bad as I thought. And that it was. dr. Evans was super gentle and was by far the easiest most unpainful numbing shot I have ever received. Would definitely return!

Hes a great endodontist! Reviews are very important especially for people who dont want to blow all their saving on a terrible endodontist! This review is doing YOU a favor. Root canals are not painful as they portray in movies and cartoons. If you feel any pain at all just tell him and he will give you more anesthetics to numb you and you wont feel a thing! No not anesthesia! You dont need to be put down for a mere 25 minutes! Like he said its only going to hurt if you let it. In other words dont let it get to your head. Its been almost a year now and my crown is on tight! Hes the best and worth the drive from Sherman Oaks! Take my word for it!

Dr. Evans did a great job on my root canal. He was able to see me very quickly after my dentist told me I needed a root canal. When he gave me the shot, I didn’t even feel it. He was able to finish the root canal within an hour. It was a very pleasant experience, and I couldn’t recommend Dr. Evans enough.

Dr Evans is an experienced competent root canal specialist. He has treated thousands of patients over the years and does an excellent job of keeping them comfortable. Most people are very nervous of having a root canal done and he does a great job of putting people at ease while at the same time doing excellent treatment. He generally completes the procedure in one visit, saving time for his patients. When you need a root canal, you can’t go wrong in choosing Dr. Evans.

I needed an emergency root canal after an accident in a basketball game, and I could not have been better taken care of at Dr. Evans’ office. My front tooth was so loose that I was sure I was going to lose it, but Dr. Evans and his staff made me feel very comfortable and took away any concerns I had before the procedure.
Dr. Evans saved my tooth and every dentist I’ve had has commented on how well the root canal was done when they see my x-​rays. I hope I don’t have to get another root canal, but if I do I will certainly be going back to Dr. Evan’s office.

I have had three root canals with Dr. Evans. Every appointment has gone very smoothly without any pain. The recovery all three times went well. I only experienced some soreness from having my mouth open for so long. I followed the instructions provided by Dr. Evans, and I did not experience any tooth discomfort.

I was referred to Dr. Evans by my dentist. I had the procedure done a little over 3 weeks ago. This was my first root canal and I didn’t know what to expect. Dr. Evans and his staff were friendly and professional and he did an amazing job! I did not experience any pain, only very minimal soreness the first two days after the procedure, but nothing a little ibuprofen couldn’t cure. I also had the internal bleaching done, which is the way to go! My tooth looks like new again! I would absolutely recommend Dr. Evans to my family and friends!

I was referred to Dr Evans at S.C. Valley Endodontics by my dentist when an old root canal went bad. I am one of those people that HATE any dental work to begin with, let alone dealing with strangers who I have no trust of any where near me. I was given an appointment within 24 hours of contacting the office. Dr Evans had such a calming personality and discussed things with me so that I felt comfortable. He performed a re-​do on the root canal that same day I went to him for a consult. That’s customer service! I will be going back to him soon to finish some work that needs to be done on the same tooth and would refer him to anyone in need of endodontic treatment.

Ended up with an infected root canal and a staff that didn’t care. I asked for antibiotics which he refused to give to me. Ended up that I didn’t even need the root canal done — I had to go to a REAL dentist to have the tooth extracted after the mess he caused…

I highly highly recommend Dr. Evans. I brought my pre-​teen daughter to him when she had an accident and required a root canal several years ago — he was fabulous, and very calming for a scared girl and her equally scared mom (me). And recently, I brought my 76 year old mother to him for some complicated root canal surgery, and my mother has early dementia issues. He was calming, gentle, and patiently explained the procedure over and over again to her because of her impaired memory. He is an excellent and skilled specialist, a kind and caring man for kids and the elderly (and those in between) and his office staff is top-​notch.
