THEY FORGOT TO PICK UP MY CHILD FROM SCHOOL TWICE!
As a parent I believe it is important to share experiences with the community and fellow parents especially when it comes to the safety of their children. This is about Care Learning Academy/​SCV Tutors in Canyon Country on Reuther Avenue. About a year ago I was in search of an afterschool program for our son to attend that provided quality care, a safe structured atmosphere, homework help and transportation from school to the facility. We found Care Learning Academy and put a deposit to hold his spot and sent several emails with the schedule of when he would be attending and provided a calendar with the school schedule and dismissal times once school began. The first week our son was at school he was forgotten to be picked up, left out in front of the school. Not picked up! He sit outside waiting for 40 minutes not knowing if anybody was coming to get him or not. When I immediately found out, called and spoke to the director at the facility and was told she didn’t know what was going on. We had our son walk home that day. Thankfully it was close enough so he could. But more so, thank God nothing bad happened to him while he was waiting to be picked up in front of the school for 40 minutes. As any parent, I was extremely upset, very nervous about leaving our son there and kept thinking what type of facility are they operating that advertises transportation services and forgets to pick up your child? And if they forgot to pick up our child, and had I not called and questioned where his ride was, would they have forgotten or have they forgotten any other children? I was told by the director it would never happen again. She gave me the phone number of a specific person that would be responsible to pick up our son on a daily basis. With that said, now that were only five weeks into the school year, not only did they forget to pick him up AGAIN yesterday and left him standing outside in 101° heat for 45 minutes. When I called to find out again where the person was that was supposed to pick him up, since the driver was not returning our sons phone calls or text, the director showed NO sense of remorse, urgency, was not apologetic, lied to me and told me she would find out what happened once the driver got there and the driver was there the entire time. And has yet to tell me what happened. They just blatantly have no respect for our family, our child or the safety of our child. I do NOT recommend using CARE LEARNING ACADEMY/​SCV TUTORS. I have never dealt with such unprofessional, an organized, disrespectful, lack of organization with transpiration with a child care for tutoring facility in my entire life. In addition to forgetting to pick up our son on two separate occasions within a five week period. On numerous occasions nobody signed him in when they picked him up from school and brought him to the facility. Therefore, there was no record of our son ever being there. This is another huge safety issue. Also, they were using their personal vehicles to pick up the children therefore, not caring the appropriate insurance required by law. Since our son had completed his homework before getting to CARE LEARNING ACADMEY/​SCV instead of him working on other academics as they said they would do and advertise they had him watch/​care for the younger students. They told me that he was going to get community service hours for helping out. I thought this was interesting being that I was paying them to care for our son. I could go on but I think I’ve said enough just don’t use this service for your child. Thank you for reading it’s important to keep our children safe.

I’ve known Sue for a few years now and I’ve even worked at her Academy for a short time. She genuinely cares for kids that attend. She’s innovative and always looking for ways to keep them engaged. She really makes each child feel they are special.

I have had my children with CARE for almost 5 years! My children love to go there for all the friends they have made! CARE just has a great atmosphere for enriching and empowering every child that comes!

Highly recommended. I wouldn’t go anywhere else in the area!

SVC Tutors Learning Academy is fantastic because it give’s your child the advantage of having a more one-​on-​one help that is very difficult to get at a public school environment. I have had the opportunity to meet Sue Brooke and I’m very impressed with her dedication to this academy.

SCV Tutors will help your child excel at school and socially. Sue and Mr. Ryan are great and very friendly. I chose this place because I am a working parent and needed an after school care where my two children will be supervised to make sure they completed their homework when I pick them up after I get out of work. During breaks, they provide child care along with academic enhancement and fun activities. I love their Summer Bridge program as the center help prepare the child for the next grade level. I have been using SCV Tutors for my children’s after school care, winter/​spring breaks, and summer camp for many years. Great place to be.

I have been using SCV Tutors for my children’s after school care for many years. Sue and the rest of the staff have created a great environment where children can get their homework done in a timely manner, engage in meaningful play activities and make new friends.
My child use to dread going to another after school program where she was treated like just another number. It was hard for her to make friends and to receive personalized attention because there were so many kids and too few teachers. At SCV Tutors she is able to get more personalized attention and the kids are more easily able to make friends.
Sue has done a wonderful job in making this a great place for my kids to learn and grow. I highly recommend SCV tutors.

My daughter will be attending CARE Learning Academy this fall, we are looking forward to it. Being a homeschool mom I’m always interested in ways to expand my children’s learning experience. CARE has a wide variety of classes to meet everyone’s needs. From foreign language to the basics, CARE seems to have something for everyone. The registration process was easy and painless, offering fair pricing and the option for charter schools to pay for the classes as well.
