Westfield Valley Fair

Actually the best mall I have ever visited. I miss the days when I could shop here every weekend!
They’ve recently finished the renovations to this mall, and it couldn’t have ended more perfectly. Even from the outside, you can tell that this place is high-​end. Inside, even nicer. There’s so many comfortable lounging areas and benches to rest on. Perfect for the dads and brothers who are dragged to the mall.
However, the best part is the food court. Everything looks modern and sleek, with a gray and green aesthetic. There are plenty of places to sit, but it doesn’t feel like a boring cafeteria because the tables and chairs are separated by different designs. Plus outdoor seating, which pretty much looks out to the parking lot. But it’s nicely shaded and decorated with plants!
Caution: It gets super busy here on the weekends, so I would recommend coming on a weekday if you are in a crunch for time to buy something!

We usually stop at Valley Fair when in the San Jose area. Parking can be tough, but you appreciate getting a spot in the parking structure as to avoid a flaming car when you leave. It seems the entire population of San Jose ends up at Valley Fair when it is hot outside chichis often, but you can do people watching for fun. Plenty of stores and some places to eat, but I usually stop by GNC to pick up a protein bar (on sale) and some kind of energy drink to wash it down until we decide where to eat. We usually don’t eat at the mall because of so many options in San jose, but we have eaten in the Nordstrom café which is not bad.

Well what can I say. This mall is the best here in the South Bay! Crazy parking, great stores, lots of food and Santana Row close by! AND GREAT STORES!

Awesome mall! I used to go here when I lived up in the Bay Area!:) This mall is the main big one in the Silicon Valley south of S.F. Its a pretty good sized mall! Lots fashion choices to choose from! I remember going to their Lids hat store too:) To make this mall complete to go above and beyond they should add a Target store! Since most malls here in LA have Targets attached which is a huge plus to have lots of customers shop here! So you don’t have to find parking at even Target close by you can do all in one grocery clothing hall:) Possibly a Costco would be good if not Target:) lol Maybe they already have added these stores in their mall expansion:) Plus Kylie Jenner did a promotional make up launch here a couple of years back:)

Valley Fair is right on the cusp of a huge expansion, so there are some noticeable vacancies. It seems like the Macy’s Men’s wing of the mall is in flux right now, since the expansion and new movie theater will dramatically change that section. Outside of that, the mall really feels healthy as ever with new stores ranging from spendy to affordable. Nordstrom is continuously evolving, and they have a fancy new Tom Ford counter with indulgently-​overpriced fragrances and shockingly friendly customer service. If only Macy’s would pick up the renovation ball, their store is feeling pretty grungy nowadays.
Also of note: the new garage next to Macy’s has helped parking a bit, but I noticed infrastructure for paid parking… that’s an interesting can of worms. Here’s hoping Westfield knows better.

I’m the type of person who literally avoids malls. So for me to write a review for a mall it either has to be really good or really bad. I initially came here because I was looking for a small shop that carried cute little asian plush toys. There is your usual selection of generic stores but in between there are some great gems. The Nordstrom here is superior to plenty others I’ve seen. The other bonus is the few upscale retailers such as LV, Dior, Balenciaga etc. Great mix of high and low end shops.

Love this mall! Great variety of foods and clothing stores. The only thing that sucks is finding parking. Luckily their new garage is now open and fits more cars! I like coming out here, but it’s a bit of a drive. Will come here again when I have more time to shop

Westfield Valley Fair is my favorite shopping center in the area. It is the typical two-​level galleria-​style mall which is so common to the major cities in North America. Large anchor department stores at each end and along the sides. a food court on the second floor. public restrooms down long service corridors. Even if you haven’t been to Westfield Valley Fair you already know how to navigate the mall.
Parking is not plentiful. They were recently rebuilding one of the parking structures which made matters worse for awhile but now the new parking garage is open and should provide some relief. The Safeway store and adjacent neighborhoods tow mall patrons, you have been warned! When weather is good I park at Santana Row and walk down the row before going to Valley Fair.
I like how the mall is mostly organized into functional areas: the luxury brands are on the first floor in one wing. The kid focused stores are grouped together. A lot of the shoe stores and makeup stores are in the same areas. Piercing, tattoos, Hot Topic, Vans are all in one area as well which keeps birds of a feather flocking together.
The food court has a fair amount of seating, having been recently rennovated. There is some outside seating as well. The food vendors offer a good range of choices, with many of the mainstay mall vendors like Panda Express, Noodles&Co, Chipotle, Boudin, and McDonalds joining some more unique and high-​end offerings like Old Port Lobster Shack and Super Duper Burger.
I shop here almost weekly. Definitely a favorite.

I wish I liked this mall more than I do.
It’s confusing… the parking, inside, everything. Especially with the ongoing construction, it’s hard to figure this place out (without being a regular).
That said, the variety of stores is great, but I also haven’t been entirely satisfied with their quality. Some stores are great, others (like Macy’s) are a sore disappointment.
It’s one of the biggest malls in the Bay Area which makes it an obvious choice, but my experiences there make me think of it as a necessary evil when I want to go shopping rather than a place I *want* to go to.

I’ve been coming here every weekend as my primary shopping mall, along with Santana Row, and this mall is one of the best in the Bay Area and also Silicon Valley! With the newly added Macy’s Parking Garage, it makes traffic a little bit faster. Valley Fair is also conveniently located across the street from Santana Row, and near I-​880, and the mall also stretches between Santa Clara and San Jose. This mall offers a variety of dining options from Fast Food Places such as Wetzels Pretzels and Chipotle, to a bit more casual restaurants such as Arigato Sushi and California Pizza Kitchen. This mall has luxury stores, technology stores, entertainment stores, and even more stores! I believe in the near future, this mall will get better and better.

Valley Fair is one of my favorite malls to go to! The department stores are huge and clean, and plenty of other shops in the mall. Generally very clean and very organized which is good! Great Mall was a mess back then but I noticed they are getting better.
I also love VF because you can even walk across the street to an outdoor mall, Santana Row! It’s. A more upscale mall and it’s super cute! So many stores, great steals but so little time.

I love Westfield. It took us maybe 3 or 4 visits before we actually got to go inside since parking can be overwhelming most times.
I personally believe that the best place to park is in the Monroe St. parking structure. There are like 4 floors of parking there, and the top floor is the best.
Pros:
— Super large mall; you could easily get lost, or miss stores
— Stores that you don’t see often in other places (i.e. The North Face, Ivivva, Lego Store, etc.)
— Lots of food to choose from in the food court (Our favorite; Super Duper Burger)
Cons:
— Parking is hard to find, especially on the weekends
— Bathrooms in food court are rather small, can’t even fit a stroller in there
If it’s your first time visiting this mall, then I’d suggest doing so on a weekday, even around the time everyone is getting home from work is doable. This place is large and so you’re definitely going to want to give yourself a sufficient amount of time to walk the entire place before closing.

It’s the local mall that has Nordstrom.
As well as all the mid to high end stores that come along with it.
The equivalent to San Diego’s Fashion Valley Mall.

Updated food court.
Conveniently across the street from Santana Row, basically an outside mall has several eateries and high end shops.

I like this mall, it has a good mixture of fancy and inexpensive stores.
The food court here is nice, clean and stocked with a good variety of foods. Only thing I don’t really like is that every time you walk through the food truck, you have a whole line of people hawking at you to try their samples.
Parking sucks here and you have to do quite a bit of circling around but sometimes I just leave my car parked at the Santana Row parking and cross the street to the mall.

This was my getaway back when my boy was a toddler and I needed a break. Okay well maybe I spent the whole day wearing out his energy. There are several places for nursing mothers to lounge, even Nordstrom provides a nice little break area. But the mall play area and the changing rooms are wonderful. The kids have their own lounge to hang out in. On a good day, he’d flop into his stroller from play overdose and I get to shop as he snored away. Good times. Great place.

It’s probably the nicest mall in the Bay Area. It has all of your staple stores you’d expect at a decent mall. More than adequate food court… ahem, dining terrace.
Parking can often suck, but I’ve adopted the «go at opening time» strategy so it’s not so bad then.
This is where I’ll typically go when I must go to a mall, though that’s not often. But it’s hard to beat the selection here.

This review is specifically for the Noodles & Company that recently opened in the food court. I was shopping on a Saturday (highly advise against that) and my sister and I decided to get some lunch. Every food vendor had a long line (except Chipotle for obvious reasons) so we went with the shortest line: Noodles & Co.
I’ve been to Noodles & Co. many times at the Cupertino location and I have no complaints. I’m not expecting 5 star quality food. I just want to carb up on a decent noodle dish. I am a creature of habit so I always order the Bangkok Curry with Shrimp. This time I decided to go with the Beef Stroganoff because it was a cold Winter day. It took about 25 minutes to get our food.
Man oh man was I disappointed. The noodles stuck together and I was only able to pull them apart where the sauce was. The biggest «turnoff» was probably me discovering that I had 3 TYPES of noodles in my stroganoff. (Hence, the photo) Like I said before, I’m not expecting a 5 star meal but please make the dishes correctly.
Final judgement: won’t be returning

I am a fan of this Westfield. It is conveniently located near Cupertino, West San Jose, Campbell, Saratoga, and Santa Clara. So expect lots of traffic at this mall from residents of these areas. The parking is always a challenge as the garages and outside parking always tend to be full even during expected light hours. There is a good reason for this as this mall houses all of the shops that people want whether it is technology stores like Apple, Microsoft or luxury stores like Montblanc, Prada, and Armani. There is also a huge food court inside the mall with fairly good food, so people often come just to have a quick bite. No matter what stores or items you are looking for, you may just find it at this mall so come check it out!

Valley Fair is the mall I go to the most in San Jose. Their stores tend to be more higher-​end than Great Mall, but not as expensive as Santana Row across the street. Parking on weekends can be a real hassle, I tend to get there early around 10, before the crowds and get my Starbucks before waiting for the stores to open.
They have a huge variety of stores, and seem to be really revamping the layout of the mall. Over the past recent years, they opened the new dining terrace which gives a real chique vibe to the entire place! The food court looks really modern, rather than old like before.
A new parking structure just opened too. Thank goodness we need it, especially with the new Din Tai Fung coming soon.

Review from my wife: this is the best mall in the South Bay! I actually agree… every store here is classy and elegant. And the people that come over here reflect that atmosphere. That is why the wife loves it… well she loves shopping period!

It’s definitely the nicest mall in the South Bay. There’s plenty of high end stores, and decently priced stores. There’s something for everyone here. They just remodeled so everything is nice and new. With that, comes the crowds.

Congratulations Valley Fair Management for missing the whole idea of Christmas. We just cruised around the mall and were amazed to see that Parents can’t take their own pictures of Santa Claus. Commercial photography only. Santa used to be an attraction to bring parents to the mall to spend money. It’s become a long standing tradition and one of the few things left that is a perk of coming to a crowded mall. Now, no picture without payment. I get it. Christmas for you is all about the money. I can afford to pay, but I genuinely feel bad for those parents who just want a family photo with Father Christmas.

2 hours wait to get out of the new parking garage! My pregnant wife wanted to kill someone! Avoid the mall at all costs unless you have patience of Jobe or the bladder of a whale! Why do I blame Westfield? Because they were the ones who engineered, constructed and then opened too early the worst parking garage ever designed in history… that or it was not ready to be opened in which case why do so and make people suffer? Basically, someone should be fired for this disaster.

My update is regarding the family space.
I get it, a lot of moms and nannies have children with different age gaps, which is hard to keep the older ones away from the area. As long as they are supervised it’s fine.
I just wish there was more supervision with older bigger children other than the parents dropping them off to go shopping, this kids push and hurt younger smaller children again, I know things happen kids will be kids but if there was supervision from the parents it shouldn’t happen. Or at least eight there would be more control of the situation.
I’m talking about 10+ children. Today I saw a few moms and caregivers upset with and older kid who was running and jumping and pushing others, mom? Nowhere to be found. 15 min later she appeared with a big shopping bag. THIS IS NOT DROP OFF DAYCARE.

i used to frequent this mall when i lived closer to san jose, but always found it to be a bit of a cluster**** since it’s always packed on the weekends, and in the days leading up to christmas. getting here from my previous home didn’t take long, but finding parking almost doubled that time! and if i didn’t write down or take a picture of where i parked, i’d spend another 15−20min just looking for my car after i finished shopping! did i mention that sometimes the exit for stevens creek off 880 is nearly a mile long b/​c folks are trying to get to the mall? cuh-​raaaazy!
parking gripes aside, there’s a great selection of stores here, from casual to high end fashion, from children to adults, jewelry to gadgets, and more. the common flagship department stores are also here: macy’s and nordstrom. there’s several cafes sprinkled throughout the mall as well as a rather large dining terrace and a few specialty food kiosks that sell items like cupcakes and macarons. new stores are constantly popping up, so it is definitely an incentive to drop by every so often to see the latest and greatest.
love the shops here, not so much getting here or finding parking.

I’ve never been a fan of the Stanford shopping center and Westfield in San Francisco is both too far and too overrun by tourists for my liking. This mall was a great blend of more upscale and more reasonably priced stores with some great food court options. I will definitely be back!

It’s been quite a while since I stopped by Valley Fair. Since it’s the furthest mall from me, I rarely visit unless nearby. In this case, we stopped by for Express. They did recently change the freeway exit to help with the flow of traffic. I’m not sure if it’s improved it but I can see how it could help a bit. There’s a bunch of parking lot renovation right now. We did walk around the mall today as we had 35 minutes to waste before opening. There are a lot of stores here where they’re much larger in size than other malls. Banana Republic looked huge. There’s also a set of high end brands as well for those who care about named brands. The food court is also large and have a lot of great eats. Soon there’s going to be a Din Tai Fung which will make going to this mall a cluster… so I’ll avoid this mall like the plague when that time comes.
Otherwise, a great mall with a nice walkable area and large stores.

This mall is crazy huge with so many shops and vendors! I explored here for 3 hours and I don’t think I even finished!
Food court here has a good selection, and they are opening a Noodles and Company (November 2015), AND the famous Din Tai Feng too (winter 2015)!
Parking here is quite a struggle though, even if I came on a weekday. They are also constructing another parking structure so let’s hope that clears things up!
Overall, I can’t wait to come here again! Amazing place and definitely family friendly since it has brands ranging from Old Navy and Build a Bear for the kids, to F21 and Zara for stylish men and women, and luxury items like Prada and miumiu if you’re into that.

This is my favorite mall in the area especially since I live only about 10 minutes here. I love how most of the shops I go to are in this mall. The mall is pretty big and you can find everything in here from the Apple store, Starbucks, and Zara.
I got to warn you though that parking here is hard to find. It usually takes me about 5 – 10 minutes to find parking. I suggest finding parking somewhere near Santa Row. Yes, parking is free.
They also have a great food court with awesome selections. The downside is that sometimes it can be packed and it’s hard to find a place to sit down and you may find the available seating not cleaned.
I also love how they’re pet friendly (not the food court area for sanitation reasons)! So if you have a pet, feel free to bring them and just make sure to clean up after them.
Would I come back here? YAAAS. Would I recommend it to friends? YAAAS.

My favorite mall in the South Bay. Period. Almost all my favorite independent stores are here. I can shop here all day and will never get bored about choices.
Go to store: Apple Store. Nordstrom oh yeah! Macy’s for its awesome sale! Louis Vuitton. Henri Bendell. The pimp in me gets pampered at Chapel store (that’s where I get my hats). Banana Republic. Ohhhh… Mrs Fields. Burberry, Banana Republic etc.
The food court. I am a big fan of Sarku from the beginning and probably will be. This no matter what I always go back to. New restaurants will come and go Sarku will be my go to.
Apple Store. Of course. This is my favorite store of them all. The Genius Bar here is aptly named so. They know their stuff.
You can walk in this mall looking all ratty and come out looking like your best! Use one of their personal shoppers. Have a sit let them do their magic and presto! You’re one hot Silicon Valley resident!
