We hired Marc and Phoebe after three of our cousins had used them for their weddings. We were impressed with the high quality of photos they received from the engagement photos and wedding photos. It was a no brainer to book Marc and Phoebe for our wedding.
We met with Marc in his studio and he showed us wedding photo albums. All three of our cousins weddings photos were featured. The quality photo albums were impressive to say to say the least. We booked him on the spot.
Our engagement session was shot at two locations, Napa and San Francisco. Marc was very open for the travel and offered insight on some of his favorite locations. We probably spent close to 6 hours of shooting. Toward the end of the day, we were really tired but we were lucky Marc kept shooting.
Come wedding day, we put our complete trust in Marc and Phoebe, as we had so many other things to worry about. Marc and Phoebe knew exactly what they were doing and stuck to a plan and timeline. Like previous times before, they extended their shooting time past the time we had agreed on. They also provided us with more photos than expected.
We got our wedding photos about a month and half after the wedding. Marc and Phoebe went above and beyond our expectations in capturing one the most important times in our lives. Their perfessionalism, creativity and eye for a good shot go unmatched.
Now comes the hard part and choosing which photos (out of the thousands we recieved) we want for the album. We thank you Marc and Phoebe!

We had a studio session shoot done for our 3 dogs. Scheduling the session was very easy and I was able to do everything online. Marc was very good at confirming the session and communicating details for the shoot. There were a few adjustments to the appointment time, but Marc kept in communication with me (which is super important to me).
Our dogs are a little skittish in new environments so they were nervous, but Marc was able to get some really great shots of them and their personalities.
The only two things that bump this down to 4 stars were that the studio was really warm. REALLY warm. It’s a small space, so it was stuffy. Once we finished and opened the door into the hallway, I was so much cooler. The other thing is that he didn’t explain the process, so my roommate was a little confused on how things were supposed to work. We figured it out quickly and there wasn’t any pressure, so not a big deal.
I’d definitely use Marc again.

Marc Aviles is a wizard with the camera. We took our two year old daughter to his studio for her birthday photos last Sunday. Frankly, I was not looking forward to it because we have never had a positive experience having her photos taken. That all changed the day we met Marc. He had her dancing and laughing and the photos he took make me weep with joy they are so good! I highly recommend this studio and, in particular, Marc!

We had a couple of session with Marc, he shoots whole a lot photos but since we can only choose 6 of them, even we told him that’s good enough. (He’s kind of forcing people to buy more prints from him)
We left our son’s hat at his studio when we had the second session, and I had email him many time regarding it. He said he will be at the studio 2month later, and will call me around that time. I was happy that we might have a chance to find it back. But he NEVER contacted me after even I told him that’s a present from grandpa who already past away…

We had an enjoyable photo session with lots of great options for different backgrounds and poses! Our children are all in college, and our family portraits turned out beautifully! Highly Recommended!

My sister gave us a Groupon for my birthday to have our yearly family pictures taken here. It was such a great place! Marc was very good– he worked quickly which was super for the kids. It is not easy getting good pictures of four young children, but Marc did a great job and we had hundreds of good pictures to pick from. We got the proofs very quickly and were able to get our Christmas cards out on time despite my doing everything super late. Thank you, thank you for being on top of everything and making sure we got everything so fast! Great pictures, a great photographer, more than we could ask for! My sister went and had her family pictures taken shortly after and they turned out fabulously, too! What a great find! We will all definitely be back!

I scheduled a session for myself, my husband and our infant daughter. Marc was quite pleasant and efficient with our session. Even though we had to break to feed the baby, he made sure that we had multiple background shots as a family as well as great solo shots of the baby. I wish I would have brought a change of clothes for her as he suggested. If you have an idea for poses or backgrounds be sure to communicate this to him as he is very receptive to input.

Alright folks, you can have one great session and feel good about it and write a good review. In the case of Marc and Phoebe, ThisisItPhotogrpahy, and ThisisitBabies, it’s been 6 photo sessions, over 4 years, and they’ve been all nothing short of fantastic.
Marc is patient, creative, thorough and exceeded every one of our expectations every time we were there. We’ve been back for our first child, our second, and sessions for my wife and I separately, and of course together for our pre-​wedding and wedding ceremony as well as a fun costume shoot. Marc loves to bring out the smile, and he is so unobtrusive, you almost forget he’s there…
Marc, thanks again for the wonderful memories. We hope we’ll make some more with you soon!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed This Is It Photography yet! This is way overdue, Marc is great!
Having your pictures taken is a pretty intimate process, the photographer needs to understand your personality and shoot you in the best light. I wasn’t sure what to expect walking in to my photo shoot with Marc at This Is It Photography, but I’m very happy with the service and photographs I received.
Marc is a sweet sweet man, he made me laugh and comfortable and was really flexible throughout the photo shoot. I had a couple outfit changes and he just kept snapping away, catching my face in different lights, different poses, and really just let me move however I wanted. When he felt like a specific pose would look good, he wouldn’t hesitate to suggest it, and we’d play with some of the props in his studio. Sometimes the use of certain props just didn’t work in my shoot, but I appreciated that he acknowledged when a certain look wasn’t working and moved on instead of wasting time and pictures trying to make it work.
I felt like both Marc and I were having fun in my shoot, he has a great energy as a photographer that I just kept posing and he kept snapping. About a week following my shoot, Marc sent me a link to my pictures in a photo gallery. He got so many great shots, my skin was glowing and the light was on me just right — and these were untouched photos! Looking through them was so much fun because the pictures reflected the fun and energy from the photo shoot.
Some people only take pictures when there is an occasion, I was just taking them for fun and Marc definitely made it that. I will reach out to him if I want to take more pictures for fun or for a specific event. I’ve recommended him to my friends and if you’re considering it, you should definitely give him a chance and see what he can do for you.

I have never used this company. But I DID just receive spam email from them advertising their services in my personal Yahoo! inbox. It seems
felt it was appropriate to give my personal e-​mail information to this company and in turn the photographers feel its acceptable to send spam to someone they don’t know. I now have to unsubscribe.
I understand that you want people to know your business exists. I appreciate not getting one more piece of junk mail that simultaneously kills trees. BUT never, ever do I find it appropriate to send impersonal ads to someone’s email. HINT ~ If you’re a strong company: word-​of-​mouth! It’s not like your services can be sold over a website. Have your happy clients tell their friends, boost your facebook page, etc. It’s rude and unprofessional to send email of this kind.

This is now my 2^nd time using Marc and Thisisit Photography. We used Marc for our 5 year anniversary photos earliier this year in January. We were so pleased at the amazing quality and creativity of his photos that we decided to use him again for the photoshoot of our newborn identical twin girls. Each time we used him he was not only professional, but he went above and beyond our expectations. We did not realize how much time went into doing a newborn photoshoot, let alone the amount of time and patience that it took to shoot twins. He took more time than was scheduled to get all of the shots that we needed. Needless to say, the photos were once again AMAZING!!!
In response to some of the other reviewers… in the two times that I have used him, I have never had a problem with scheduling. In fact he was completely prepared before we arrived. Additionally, another reviewer had a problem with the «diagonal poses.» This person is probably a boring person who likes very symmetrical, old fashioned poses (straight lines, boring angles, etc). If you want outstanding photos that really have that «wow» factor, use Marc and Thisisit Photography. You WILL NOT regret it.

Marc and Phoebe are by far the best photographers in the bay area!!! They are extremely professional and super easy to work with!!! They make you feel comfortable, which helps capture those fabulous candid shots. I am extremely happy with my Save the Date, Engagement and Wedding picture sessions! We already set our date for Post wedding pictures (and i know those will be amazing too). Not only did they take pictures at my wedding, they also took video and Oh my goodness… The video is wonderful!!! They captured my wedding PERFECTLY!!! I will definitely hire THIS IS IT again!!!

I was surprised to see some of the negative comments here. I made an appt. with Marc after purchasing a Groupon. He was at the studio waiting when I arrived early, and he even set aside his lunch to start our session, even though I offered to wait until the actual appointment time.
Marc was very gracious, calm and patient, allowing for a few wardrobe changes. He also showed me photos digitally at many intervals throughout the session to ensure that I liked what he was shooting.
I have to say, the photos are fabulous! Marc sent the images very soon after the shoot. I was thrilled with the proofs and had a hard time limiting my choices. (It took a couple weeks to finally pare down the selection!) I have a background in photography myself, though I am not a studio photographer. Marc has a strong command of lighting and composition. I was thoroughly impressed by his work and would HIGHLY recommend This is iT to anyone looking for a studio portrait session at a great price.
While I agree that Marc’s personality is calm and quite, not a «Work it, Work it!» enthusiastic fashion photographer type, I have to ask: Is that what you’re paying for? Not really — it’s the final product, and THAT is worth the five stars.

Did I mention they forgot about our appointment?
Or how about Marc was not even in the room most of the time when they finally did show up to the appointment. The fact that they forgot about us should have sent up a major red flag. If it didn’t, its because we were new to the whole hiring a vendor idea.
No, I did not reply back to emails because there was no point. Like I said, we already hired another photographer. Oh and that whole Napa thing was your wife’s idea. I had no clue those castles existed until she mentioned them. FYI: I wanted to go to the Botanical Gardens in San Francisco and you would have known that had you read your emails (which is our conversation in writing). Please do not bother trying to contact me as your email has been sent to the spam folder.

Marc is nothing if not professional and patient. We did two sessions with him; one with me & my hubby and one with us & our 3-​year old. Marc not only spent extra time with us but we got some AMAZING shots. My friends can’t stop gushing about them! He’s was edgy with us and tender and kind with our little girl. Everyone with a toddler knows it’s not an easy task to coerce them to give some results! On top of all this, Marc offered this great service even when our sessions were discounted Groupon shoots.
Marc is patient, creative, talented and a great find.

Our wedding coordinator Arlene Marcos referred us to Marc and Phoebe and we are soooo happy that we met with them. They have this style of photography that just caught my eye. Marc and Phoebe are a sweet couple and we felt so comfortable with them.
We LOVE how our engagement pictures came out and can’t wait to see what they capture on our wedding day. Marc was awesome the day we took the pictures. He was easy going and made it fun. And he captured ALOT of great shots.

My husband and I just had a baby a month ago and wanted to get some family shots taken with our new baby, our near-​two year old, and of course us parents, too. As you can imagine, it’s no small task to get 4 people looking at the camera and smiling all at the same time — especially when 2 of those 4 people are a either a toddler and a newborn! Marc and Phoebe were so patient with us and helpful. They really took their time and our pictures turned out FANTASTIC! The color contrasts and lighting, not to mention the poses — all of it was terrific.
I only give 4 stars instead of 5 because we didn’t get to try their advanced digital touch up services. I would have really liked to try it, but it wasn’t in our budget, unfortunately. But from what I’ve seen of other work they’ve done, it looks top-​notch.

Marc and Phoebe’s use of colors is amazing. He is professional, easy to work with, and was very patient with my honey and I during our engagement/​civil ceremony picture session. He worked with us as we tried to describe what we were looking for in the pictures and how it could work with their artistic creativity. The pictures turned out great, and our friends and family have nothing but high praises for their work product.
Why four stars? I’m saving the final star for an updated review of how our banquet/​tea ceremony pics turn out. I’m sure they will be excellent.
