This place is an absolute hidden gem!!! I have lived in San Jose most of my life and I know the culture well. In many ways it is deprived of art. It seems that many artists move out to SF, la, and other cities to make it. But some how this studio feels like a gathering in an art community! You feel like you are in another region when you arrive! It’s absolutely refreshing! I’ve had great conversations with the owner Phill. He is a purveyor of oddities and an incredible artist and visionary. It’s so much more than a great coffee shop– so much more than a art studio! It’s a refreshment for the artist’s soul.

Studio B is this awesome little niche for the arts in Santa Clara. While the city has two other art venues (SCU’s deSaisset and the Triton Museum), Studio B stands alone. With art that borders (and occasionally crosses into) the bizarre and interesting finds like homemade candles and soap, handcrafted jewelry and other items, and books signed by authors who have held book signing events at the studio, Studio B is an eclectic space with an awesome, laid-​back vibe. Grab a cup of coffee, enjoy one of the events (the studio has recently started showcasing stripped down, acoustic punk bands among other musical acts) and check out the art on the walls. It’s not a place you stop by, quickly check out and leave. It’s a place where you want to hang out, relax and join in on one of the lively conversations that are bound to happen. It’s what Santa Clara has been missing and a must see for those seeking the unique.

This place is an oasis of art and enchantment! I got such a wave of solace and goodness when I walked through the door. Great staff, great vibe. One of the best kept secrets in the South Bay.

A close friend of mine has some art work here & I finally got a chance to stop by to check out the studio myself. It was a neat, welcoming space clearly put together by someone who is an artist himself.
There’s an espresso machine to get your caffeine on while you’re browsing (tea also, which I had as I was coffeed out that day). Everything from jewelry to wall art to clothing to sculpture to pottery & ceramics are featured– all by local artists or vintage pieces, hand selected by Phil Bongiorno. If your tastes run to slightly weird & wacky, you’ll love pretty much everything. There are 1960’s lava lamps & posters; handmade cards featuring photos, drawings; hats and purses embellished with bone & beads; antique furniture; glass sculpture; an assortment of pottery; wall art featuring stilettos, the green man, & b/​w photography; wall mounts of the buddha, rings and necklaces made from shotgun shells… And that’s just what I remember seeing! If I’m making it sound like one of those dusty antique stores that make you need a Claritin after you leave, it’s not. Everything is artfully presented in a clean, vibrant space with no dust and no sales pressure.
I ended up buying a bitchin’ vintage silver cuff stamped with a neat floral pattern and a strong BoHo vibe for $ 18. YES, $ 18! Not everything there is that inexpensively priced, but nothing seems to be unreasonable either. I had to stop myself from purchasing even more stuff (not much disposable income right now).
The Studio has an outdoor space to hang out in during events. It seems like a cement garden to me– potted plants & a fountain break up the suburban slab and provide a serene, cool atmosphere to hang out in for a bit. If I lived near this place, they’d probably have to kick me out all of the time!

I’ve been going to Studio-​Bongiorno since its inception. It has grown from a dream, to and idea, to a reality. Now it is ever changing. Flowing with audio and visual effects to make the visitors sense new feelings.
Art is life. Life is art.
Moods, Colors, Tragedies, Comedy, Imaginations, Visions, Love, Lust and so on…
If that’s too much for you, take a break in one of courtyards. Sip a coffee, have a smoke.

Think art gallery meets Oddities (the Tv show). There really is nothing like this place. The owner is fun to talk to and some of the artists pop in and out. Great coffee and conversation. Truly a must see.

This is such a cute cute store. Cant wait to come back when I actually have money. I spotted a few items that would be great Christmas gifts.

Studio-​Bongiorno is a breath of fresh air. Very welcoming from the moment you walk in the door. It’s obvious that Phil Bongiorno has thrown himself fully into his work and that he really loves what he does. There’s a very cool little gift shop/​café and a very well decorated and inviting/​peaceful courtyard. I will definitely be coming back for future shows and suggest everyone check this amazing new place out.

On a recent trip to California, I had the pleasure of visiting a new art gallery. What a surprising delight Studio Bongiorno is! The moment I stepped over the threshold I was mesmerized by all I saw — interesting, fun and unique art everywhere I looked. I felt like a kid at a toy store, my head telling me, «Ooh, look at THAT!» over and over again. The atmosphere welcomes you, invites you to sit a while, and the owner/​artist Phil Bongiorno just reinforces that feeling by openly sharing his love for art, whether it’s his own incredible work, or a fabulous piece he’s showcasing from another artist. He even made me a gourmet coffee to enjoy while I was there. I can’t imagine anyone walking in and being disappointed or unable to find some art that resonates with their spirit. Go. Check it out, you’ll be happy you did.

THIS place Rocks! Amazing art and constantly changing… and in Santa Clara (of all places) across from an old cemetery! This is NOT your ordinary quietly-​walking-​thru-​dentist-​office-​paintings kinda place… OH NO! this place throbs with life and energy and the most amazing art! Found pieces and stunning paintings & sculptures! From Phils own pieces to Bobs beautiful hearts to taxidermy lizards in baby prams… and constantly changing… it is NEVER the same place twice. I adore this place. It isn’t an uptight gallery or museum, but more of a quirky, fun artsy destination. The gallery has a super laid-​back vibe and is the perfect place to hang out, grab a cup of coffee and chit chat about everything from music to life. Phil, the owner, is a great guy and has such an interesting style of creating. Many of the works for sale are his, but he also has some great pieces by other local artists and friends. The best part is that anything on the walls could be in your home by the end of the day.
Every month the gallery holds a new «salon,» where the artwork of a group of artists is showcased and recently he held a book signing with Robert Altman (photographer for Rolling Stone Magazine). In talking to Phil, he has said that he wants the gallery to be a hub of all arts and I really can’t wait to see what cool events he has in the upcoming months.

Not sure I should share this little secret gem of a hideaway, but Phil, Shannon, Rich, Bob, and the rest of the gang are such nice folks I really must share. Studio Bongiorno is a little place to get a cuppa, a little art gallery, a little hangout for the neighborhood, a little place to check out some great art and to buy something hand-​made for yourself or a friend. Gallery openings, special talks, or just a break from an evening of wandering the cemetery to take photos, I have to stop by and say hi and chat. You should, too!

Studio-​Bongiorno is not just a place to hang, but a destination. Stroll the gallery while sipping a white mocha listening to great tunes and chatting with like minded souls. The vibe is so inviting and comforting as well as stimulating to all your senses. The amazing group of artists share a piece of themselves in everything there. You have to come check it out for yourself, because word can’t do the studio justice.

Wandering in Santa Clara, we came across this cool little gallery — a little SF, a little Brooklyn with some Big Sur thrown in. Right in the middle of Santa Clara. Who knew?
I loved everything about this place — a cool old building with a cool owner and amazing art (paintings, photography, some mixed media stuff), coffee, news of upcoming shows. Most of the art is by the owner with several other artists works on display. Want something to go along with your new art purchase (but perhaps a bit less pricey)? Postcards (of the artists photography) and a slew of other gifts make this a perfect destination for big and little purchases to support the arts and the artists.
