Smog Master

Great place. Great customer service but a little pricey 53 bucks for smog test! Other place charge only 30. And another place would be 49. I was hustled! But my car still pass. The only 3 stars because it 53 and other places cost less

I don’t know what I was thinking coming here alone… I didn’t know the place was just a garage with no waiting area. I waited outside for the smog test to be over. The guy did his job & I paid $ 53. Not bad at all but I think next time, i’ll opt for another place or have my husband take care of the smog tests.

They have moved! Just wanted to put this at the top. The new location is about half a mile west on El Camino (towards Lawrence Expwy), 3100 El Camino Rd.
Been here twice now to get my car tested. Both times it was fast and reasonably priced. I don’t remember how much I paid the first time but this time it was $ 48 out the door, and I didn’t even have to mention the coupon since he gathered from our conversation that I had been there before.

Called for a quote and was asked if I had any coupons.
I told him No, but he gave me coupon price and charged me $ 45.00 out the door.

I have 3 cars that require smog within 2 months of each other. This is the third time I have taken all my cars here, and its great. Yes, its a smog test place, so what do you want from them? Quick service, Yes. Fair service, Yes. Latte with extra foam? No.
I typically go in the morning. There is never a wait. The service is quick. About 20 minutes per car. Pricing can be a bit varied. I have paid between $ 45 to $ 70 with the coupon.
And one final thought. If your car fails the smog test, its not their fault, but it might make you feel better to blame them.

This place ROCKS! The man that helped us out was the only one working and was getting the job done fast and was still friendly to all the customers. I will definitely be going back here for our second cars smog test.

So far, I’ve landed back here once again. Have used this place for years for smog tests which I BARELY pass. Was going to try another place for smog test down El Camino, however that place ignored me, but was being helpful to other customers. Not sure what offended them about me, age, race, fatness, attidude??? Dunno… so I drove back here again. A young guy came right up to me and is now testing my car’s smog while I write this. Nervous if I fail. Okay, I passed! Barely but hey still made it! He only charged me $ 58. This place actually wants your business doesn’t ignore you, hot dang. An anxious, elderly, Asian lady came in demanding to know «can he fix her car if she fails?» the answer is“no” and he was kind and courteous to her. I’ll be back in 2 years if I still own this car then.

This place is OK… I called ahead to check the price for a smog check, and the guy quoted me $ 53 out the door. I specifically asked if this includes the certificate. He told me yes! I’m making a point of this because I found a $ 20 off coupon on line, and figured I’d call ahead and get the price, then take $ 20 off that, right? Read on…
I thought, sounds fair, so I drove down. The place was empty. I walked in and he got started on my car right away. Only took him 15 minutes to do the test…
I noticed something weird when he gave me the estimate… It was for a total of $ 48. I thought to myself, cool, I can use the $ 20 off coupon off the $ 48 price! Wrong.
So the test is done, and I’m going to pay… The bill comes out to $ 48 with the coupon… I was like aren’t you going to take $ 20 off that price? He explained to me that there were all these other things he charged me for that equaled out to $ 15 and he took $ 20 off from that price and the 53 I was originally quoted… I didn’t really push the issue because more smog check places want around $ 65 so I figured I got about $ 20 less then them…
So I would recommend this place for the SMOG check, just make sure you get the «out the door» price in writing before he starts. This really bothers me, so that’s why I’m taking away stars… The waiting room is OK. They have a computer you can use in the waiting room. Kind of cool! I didn’t use the bathroom, so I can’t report on that. He did the test in the same amount of time as the other guys. So yeah…
