I looked unsuccessfully for a piano tuner for a few days. Finally, the friendly people at Gelb Music referred me to Ron Tomasello. After many scheduling difficulties, he came and tuned my piano within two weeks (I was in no hurry). He travelled from Santa Clara in traffic to tune my piano at 7pm which was very nice for us since we work weekdays all day.
He seemed to be very thorough and identified a couple of strings to be replaced but did not pressure we do it now (we’ll get them replaced at the time of our next tune). He charged $ 150 which at first seemed high to me, but appears to be what piano tuning costs these days.
We will be calling him back for our next tune.
