My husband also went in to get his glasses. We waited and waited. Finally they called. The glasses didn’t feel right so we send it back. Waited again a few weeks, no news. So I called, waited for 40 min on the phone, then they told me that they just got it today… Well, no one calls us about it… For all the pain and time we wasted… Please go somewhere else…

This place is ok. I got a prescription from Kaiser for computer glasses since I spend my days on the computer at work and my vision started getting blurry by the end of the day… So i just figured I’d buy my glasses there since I would have 20% off with my insurance. I think the selection could be bigger and customer service is ok– the first time i went they were gonna close in 15 min so the person told me i should get a frame within that time or come back later. I hurried up and chose a frame within that time but he was like sorry it’s closed now come back later. So i had to come back a second time. Then I waited two weeks for my glasses to get there. No one called me to tell me that my glasses were in, I had to call myself to make sure they were there (they told me they would call). The customer service when i went to pick up my glasses was good, so i guess it just depends. I am pretty happy with my glasses but if it wasn’t for the insurance, i think i would have bought them from another place.

OMG, I wish I could give them a zero.
First of all the staff was rude beyond belief. The staff member fitting my glasses tried to hard sell me a pair of sunglasses, and said «well, they are your eyes» when I refused. There was a huge waiting line, and two staff members were sitting on their behinds doing absolutely nothing behind the desk while we were all waiting for the third person. Apparently they don’t believe in cross training or need different computers or some other lame excuse. Then the staff members with nothing to do found it necessary to continuously shout insults back and forth at the staff 40 feet away. I was stunned, and frankly, as a Kaiser employee, horrifically embarassed.
A week later I went to Lens Crafters in Saratoga to get a second pair. WITHOUT insurance, for the SAME glasses, the cost was $ 33 less, the people were nice, and I got the glasses the next day.
Then when I got my EOB, it didn’t match what I paid. Took over an hour on hold and 3 different people to sort that out.
Do NOT go here, even if you have a Kaiser vision benefit. Check Lens Crafters first, even paying all cash you may come out ahead in the end.

Service is pretty friendly here, and the selection of glasses isn’t bad. They try to keep up with the trends, which can be either good or bad depending on what you like. I had bought a pair of Candies glasses, and I really liked them — except they were a bit too big. Two years later, when buying another pair would be covered, I wanted a similar style — unfortunately, they’ve since updated to cater more to people who prefer ‘geek chic’ (their words, not mine).
I was able to find a pair that was close enough to what I had, and they fit much better this time around. The glasses were ready within a week, and I’m really happy with them.

Dont kno y there r so many bad reviews. I pay what i pay anywhere else and i do have good health insurance which covers what i need. Plus i get better options 4 frames that i like. Im picky but always find one or two i like when i go anywhere else i dnt find nything or the frames i want r over 200! Been helped evrytime but i go during their slow times of the week. First time i got helped quickly and those were my best glasses ever. the employee found them 4 me on her first try! Finally after 4 years i come bak and i prefer no one helping till i find the 2 frames i can settle with. Then i ask 4 opinions or help for my final decision. Ive never been talked or convinced to buy more expensive i just buy whats good enough scratch resistant lens glare and usually the 20 fee for insurance. This time i paid 4 th insurance cuz i might not stay with kaiser for a couple more months so at least my glasses r covered for 2 years. This time i bought good ones with the best lenses cuz its half frame glasses since im payin less than what i usually pay out of pocket i figured splurge on th lens quality. Im always happy here an or at redwood city. They have a good selection and i always find what i want. Customer service and info is better at redwood city becuz they do have more experience with customer service and have a smaller set of employees but they are quick and efficient. If redwoodcity optical wasnt so far i would go there instead. Otherwise happy with santa clara.

It makes feel so uncomfortable knowing I’m paying $$$ equivalent to an arm and a leg for glasses and getting bad service. I felt like they gipped me. In the future, I’m heading over to LensCrafters. The cost is just as much anyway, since they have buy a frame, get the lens ½ off every 6 months.
First off, their glasses selection is very limited. I came here a couple months prior before finally picking out a pair I decently liked, and walked out empty handed. It was during the holiday season and it was just a hot mess inside. Soooo crowded, long lines, and just very unwelcoming. So, I left.
They claim to not to have commission… I don’t know if that’s true or not. But the sales associates there are definitely not helpful (compared to LensCrafters, they help you pick out frames to fit your face). Here, they just kind of uncomfortably follow you around and watch you… At one point, the sales associate excused herself to go to the bathroom and came back 15 minutes later. The other time I came here, I had a very grumpy man who seemed to love his job (that’s sarcasm right there).
As a person with a rather larger face than average (lol, let’s just pretend I have a huge brain), it was hard for me to pick out frames that fit. A majority of them were too narrow and too tight. That cut even more of the small selection they have.
I’m a huge fan of the plastic Rayban glasses since they’re more affordable, geeky or preppy looking, and fashionable. My past two Raybans were from Lenscrafters. When I looked at the KP’s pamphlet, they stated they carry Raybans. When I was there, did they? Nope! The sales associate claimed to have been «back ordered.» I guess they’ve been back ordered for 3 months now…
Since I couldn’t find a frame I liked, I asked about just using my old frames and replacing the lens because my prescription went up. Sales associate said it takes 7 – 10 business days. Uh. What. So I’m going to be blind for about 1.5 weeks? At LensCrafters, it takes about 2 hours! I was so desperate to get new glasses and didn’t want to be blind for 2 weeks, I decided to get a whole new pair. I picked out a Kate Spade frame which I decently liked. So, whoopdeedoo… only $ 175 off from benefits, which ended up costing about $ 300 in total. And so the lady said it will take 7 – 10 days. Fine.
But then, I got a call today! My glasses are ready! It took them FOUR days! OMG. I could have saved so much more money and trouble if I replaced my lens for my glasses in four days! On top of that, I’d be able to keep the frames I actually love. So, I felt like I have been lied to…
Picking up my glasses wasn’t too bad. I think maybe the manager helped me because she was a lot friendlier (and she wasn’t wearing a white coat). What’s nice about this place is that they have a sink area for you to take off your contact lens to try on your glasses.
Okay, bottom line:
— if you get a new set of glasses, takes about four business days.
— limited selection (probs better off going to LensCrafters)
— sales associates are not helpful, don’t help you pick out frames that fit your face. So bring a friend to help you decide.
— CROWDED
— EXPENSIVE!
Disclaimer: Okay, I LOVE KP. I’ve had great experiences with my doctor, advice nurses late at night, the pharmacy, and getting flu shots and lab work done. but this optical center needs to step it up!

Service here is still great :) Employees here are friendly, and they try to help you as much as they can.
They used to have trunk shows and I used to hear about it. I wish they’d email us or notify clients who has been there before of this special event. I want to say that this place used to be really awesome with the product selection about 4 or 5 years ago.
Their glasses selection has diminished to the point I have been there twice in the past year and I left empty handed. They used to have much more designer selections such as Christian Dior, Burberry, etc and I don’t even see Burberry glasses anymore :(Sadly I will be heading over to another optical place for my glasses from now on.

These KP Optical guys are real scamers, they are not selling original Crizal products, but they charge higher amount in that brand name…
I ordered this product: Ray ban frame +Crizal AR coat + Photo chromatic +additional warranty for damage total costed $ 550+, when I got my glasses i noticed that they ware not original one, they are selling duplicates…
when you get Crizal make sure that they are genuine…
How to check: breath over the glass you should see the name crizal written on it… its kind of special laser engraving which only be reproduced by original crizal people…
Crizal should take action on these KP owned Optical shop…
They are spoiling the brand…
The sales guy said he will get back to me with details, but he never called back…

I wish I had read these reviews before I went to Kaiser for new lenses a couple months ago. I actually went to the optical center at the Kaiser in Mt. View and the expereince was just as bad as others are describing.
I had to send my lenses back 6 times and they still couldn’t get it right! On top of that, they ruined the finish on my favorite pair of frames. I couldn’t believe it. Worst experience ever.
Save yourself a lot of time and trouble and go somewhere else.

I bought a $ 600 georgio armani glasses with the top of the line lenses from this place. After I received it it felt too tight on my face. Even tho they did fitting earlier. The handle came apart and I went in and they sent it out to be replaced. I asked them for a better fitting glasses but they refused to make the adjust. Come on you got your $ 600 and you don’t care about your customers comfort? Will never buy from here again.

The «service technicians» are like commissioned salespeople. They try to add on a lot of extras and talk it up as though it’s needed… I felt as though I was in a used car lot! LOL
I didn’t even bother purchasing my contact lens through them.

Take it from me, get your glasses elsewhere! The service is slow and not customer oriented at all. Then to top it all off, once I got my glasses they had a defect and needed to be sent back … twice! This has never happened before at other places and I’ve been wearing glasses my whole life! If you must get your glasses/​contacts here, expect everything to take a long time, after which your glasses may or may not be use-​able.
