Joseph W. McCarthy has been representing contractors, engineers, architects, materials suppliers, and real estate professionals throughout California since 1993. Mr. McCarthy holds many California construction licenses and a California real estate broker’s license. Mr. McCarthy had twenty-​three years of experience in construction and real estate prior to becoming an attorney.

Joseph W. McCarthy, Esq. is a licensed California attorney whose practice primarily emphasizes transactions, litigation, arbitration and mediation on behalf of companies and individuals involved in the construction and real estate industries.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. McCarthy was a general contractor in Missouri for over twenty years and a real estate broker for seventeen years. His extensive construction and real estate backgrounds are a great advantage when assessing a client’s case, and during mediation, arbitration and trial.

Mr. McCarthy holds the following California construction licenses: A — General Engineering Contractor, B — General Building Contractor, C-​8 — Concrete, C-​10 — Electrical, C-​20 — Warm Air Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning, and C-​36 — Plumbing.

Mr. McCarthy is the author of The Contractor’s Survival Guide and has taught seminars for the Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Shasta County Builder’s Exchanges.
