I’ve been here a couple times. It’s OK, and I can’t say explicitly why I can’t give them four stars other than it is not at all exceptional for me. The hot dogs are just hot dogs. The burgers are not as great as nearby Kenny’s(or even Five Guys). It’s local to my work and Santa Clara U. It is friendly and relatively quick. Others seem to enjoy it, but it just tastes so average to me. I even went for their gyros to see if that would be different enough, but they are not as good as nearby«Wrap This» and it’s more expensive here. Tastes vary — you may like this place. I like more flavor and spice. I’ve given it three swings — and can now say«I’m outta there!»

The food is good, however the service is terrible. Not worth giving this establishment your business.

This spot is close to my house so I’ve been here a few times. It’s average in every way but that doesn’t really make it bad. If you’re looking for a burger and fries give it a try! It’s worth a try for sure.

The bread is yummy. Got a cheesesteak. Came here because it’s close to my significant other university and it was close to my doctor appointment. Dirty venue, but hey the food is fab!

Just had a pastrami on french bread. What a great sandwhich! I would put this up against any of the deli sandwhichs I’ve had in the area. Little place, no wait, great sandwhichs… what else can you ask for?

Great service, great food! Good ol’ reliable, no frills diner fare. BLT is right on and the fries are good too, crisp not greasy and limp. Perfect for an indulgent treat!

This place has gone downhill !! I paid $ 5.95 for a linguica sausage and all I got was sausage cut in half grill and served on toasted roll. Nothing inside and no frys !! Don’t waist your time here. Before You got a lot for Your Buck ! They don’t even give you ice for your water. It’s served room temp !! Stay away from here !!!

Service: Terrible. The woman behind the counter, NEVER smiles, talks with a mumble and is very abrupt with her answers. And they close kind of early for a restaurant behind a university. Food: Meh. Not worth any special consideration. Same as if I were to go to a free cook out at a church on a budget. Drinks: No more beer??? What is the point of this place anymore? I can’t wait for someone new to come in and revitalize the place. I miss watching games with buddies here.

I’ve been coming here for years and sadly it keeps going down hill. The service has dropped, orders are not processed in the order taken, and after three failed visits in a row I unfortunately have to give it few stars. I will be looking for another venue to spend my money at. A $ 14 sandwich doesn’t take 30+ minutes to make. Don’t serve people out of order. Be polite at the counter not cold and uninterested.

Only downhill has this spot gone. Used to be great, but not so much anymore. Board specials are not that special. Portions are great, but most of the time disintegrate in your paws. I’ll just throw it out there now. The French Fries kinda suck. The family that runs the joint is nice, most of the time. They can also be fun to watch argue from across counter. Tons of rear building parking, but gets busy and slow around lunch. Understandably. Lots of other lunch options in vicinity, and The Hound used to be among the best. Beers are still cheap for SCU crowd, but food has just sank.

I only allow myself to come here at most once a year. It’s a nice, hearty, greasy diner meal that you just need to have once in a while. I love the onion rings and burgers!

Chili fries, sandwiches(all of them) hamburgers, salads name it, everything is so so good. Very convenient for us who do laundry next door.

Been to place a couple of times now and the food is good. Nice portions, I usually end up getting a special. It’s a nice hole in the wall next to the University. But I think the employees come off a bit cold, no hellos or good byes. And if you order your food together don’t expect them to come out together, whether it’s busy or not. And if you want some sort of dipping sauce, like BBQ sauce expect to pay .75 for a 2 oz container… get out of here with that charge…

I love their Greek salad. Good in portion, delicious and reasonably priced. I haven’t try other things yet. But in general I had a good first time experience here and would recommend it to my friends.

I live close to this place and have been by here hundreds of times. Decided to have lunch here today. I ordered a Patty Melt and fries. Fries do not come with the burgers/sandwiches and must be ordered separately. The melt was just ok. It was on sourdough and I was hoping it would be served on the traditional rye. I was hungry and short on time so I just ate it. While the woman that took my order was nice and I received my order fairly quick, I won’t be going back. My stomach was not too pleased with it.

Got off of work early and decided to ask my friend to take me to lunch. Yes, you read that correctly, I asked someone to take me to lunch. Why? Bc I didn’t wanna spend my own money for me to eat. Valid excuse, I think. I can careless what you think, this is my review and my life so poo on you. Anyways, I’ve passed by this place millions of times and decided to have my friend buy me lunch. She got the patty melt and I got the chicken teriyaki. She said that the patty melt was… eh. Imma have to take her word, bc I didn’t have a bite of her sandwich. So if she says that it’s…eh, then I guess it’s…eh. What am I gunna do, call her a liar? I ordered the chicken teriyaki sandwich. I already said that, huh? My bad. Please forgive. It is Monday and I’m only on ¼ brain power. So I was just informed that fries DONOT come with the meals, you have to order fries separately. BOOOOO… It’s 12:02 and I still haven’t received my food. My friend has, but not me. Hmmm… OHMAN! So get this, the Niners lost another Running Back due to injury. First Kendall Hunter tore his ACL and is out for the season and now LaMichael James is out for about a month or so bc he injured his elbow. STOPTHEPRESSES!!! My sandwich is here. It smells good. And it taste pretty good. Yup… I think we have a semi winner. Semi bc, it would have been cool to get our food together. And if the Teriyaki juice didn’t squirt all over the place and get on my Giants shirt. Three out of five Trans-Fats

I loved the gyro I ordered today… Since it’s an American food type of restaurant and not a Greek place, I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely try a burger or hot dog soon. The prices are good, portions are large, and the service was great as well :)

We’ve been by this place a few times… one of which was a Saturday evening at 6pm and they were closed, which was disappointing. Why close at dinner time on a Saturday? The other times we’ve come by and have actually thought the food was decent. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here… its nothing to write home about… but it is a cool, quick burger place(they have lots of other stuff too) to drop in to if you are hungry and in the neighborhood. The order of fries is huge… you can definitely share it with the other people you are dining with.

College campus-adjacent restaurants like this are the reason the Freshman Fifteen exist. On my way home, I decided to explore and somehow found myself by the college and needed to grab some takeout– but when you walk in, you can practically feel the grease seeping into your pores. The menu is surprisingly diverse– a ton of hamburgers, various meats(ribeye, chicken teriyaki), falafel and gyros, hot and cold sandwiches, and a bunch of snack-type foods like chili fries and«fresh made» cookies. A lot of the reviews here reference the«friendly service», but I walked in the rear entrance then stood in front of the register for a solid five minutes before anyone came out– and even then, the lady made several trips back and forth from the kitchen to the counter bringing out a party’s plates before acknowledging me, and she never made eye contact. This is admittedly one of the worst places I could have stopped intending to make healthy choices, but rather than get sucked into the bad decisions the stench of grease in the air actually turned me off– I went for the greek salad with chicken. Somehow it’s an entrée size salad that doesn’t include meat. The price went from $ 7 to $ 12 for the addition of a couple of chicken tenders. Not exactly college-wallet friendly, again– no wonder students gain weight. Ultimately the salad was large but apparently the kitchen staff doesn’t know how to chop vegetables– I probably had an entire green bell pepper in my take out box, cut into five giant pieces. On the upside, I also probably had three whole ounces of feta cheese. If you want to clog your arteries, head here. Not sure why the service was so off when I visited. Wouldn’t mind returning for a greasy burger, but I’m further turned off by how the kitchen is walled-in instead of open per the original restaurant design– makes me wonder how clean the grill is.
