Reggie from GQ service department my heating and air conditioning systems today. He was thorough, professional, and personable. He also clean up afterwards and even washed my air conditioning unit which was outside. I am extremely pleased with hi s service. GQ is a very good outfit.

We had them come out to clean and check our heater. Reggie was very helpful and knowledgeable. He addressed and fixed an issue that will save energy. Yes, I did get a quote for other things I did not want, but they were not pushy and gave me a good price for the items that needed to be addressed.

Reggie came out and got our A/​C up and running. Was the second time with him and he is the best tech they’ve got. 5 stars for his service.

Got a cold call from GQ to have them do an inspection of my gas furnace for $ 49.95. They came out and after an inspection with legitimate tools, they told me that I had a cracked heat exchanger and that it was probably leaking carbon monoxide into the house. If this was true, they are legally bound to shut down the furnace until such time as it can be repaired. They did not shut it down. They gave me a quote for a new furnace installation, but I wanted to get some other inspections, so I passed on their offer.
I subsequently had another heating and air conditioning serviceman come out and after partially taking apart my furnace, he showed me that I had no crack in my heat exchanger. He also fixed a pipe that was not secured as it should be. He assured me that my furnace was fine and should last several years.
GQ tried to convince me that I needed a new furnace when I don’t. If you should get a cold call, run away from these shysters.

I’m glad we called up Guaranteed Quality because it turns out that our heater hasn’t been changed since the original installation when the house was first built around 20 years ago. The two technicians from the company advised us that dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide was coming out of our vent. That’s definitely not something we would want to overlook! We shopped around for other quotes to replace our entire heating system but Guaranteed offered reasonable prices with room to get more discounts for future services. One of the technicians worked almost a full 8 – 10 hours to make sure that we would have everything taken care of and ready to use within the same day of placing the order. We had a lot of company over at the house throughout the holiday season and thanks to the good work from the technicians, we confidently used the heater when we needed to without putting our family and guests at risk from carbon monoxide!

I received a cold call for $ 59.95 for a furnace maintenance. I am always prepared for the possibility that something needs repair especially since our furnace is 14 years old and the duct work over 50 years old. Reggie and Sam came to the house and were very professional and polite. They showed me exactly what was wrong so I had no qualms that I needed to do some repair. They took their time and made sure things were clean and done properly. Most of the charges were reasonable. The charge for adjusting the gas flow was a bit pricey though but I guess worth it so we are not breathing fumes. All in all they did a great job and I am very happy with the services performed.

We also got a cold call with an offer to come out and clean our air and heater ducts, and since we were looking to get them cleaned anyway, we listened to the pitch and decided to go ahead and schedule an appointment. Tim and Sam came out and examined our two heater and one air conditioning units. We did know due to issues we were having that we had some problems with our ducts and also rodent problems in our attic and crawl space under the house. Tim and Sam did find these issues and gave us a quote on how to handle them. It was more than we could afford or wished to spend, so they worked with us on determining what was essential to correct the problem. The work was scheduled and they came out on time to do the work. They were professional and did all of the work they said they would do. They did find and dispose of four rodents! They fixed the connections in the ducts and now, for the first time in several years, we are getting air flow into rooms that previously received none or very little. Both areas were sanitized and we have a 5 year guarantee that no rodents will get in those areas. We were very pleased with the work that was done and the manner in which it was done.

I have to tell you that my experience was very positive with this company. 2 weeks ago I received a cold call from a different company to come and check my ducts to see if cleaning was needed, with no obligation. I had been concerned that my A.C. unit needed cleaning, so I agreed thinking, «What do I have to loose?»
Those guys came and listed a bunch of things that needed to be fixed. They said that cleaning the unit alone cost about $ 400 and was not negotiable. Then they showed me pictures of the attic where the metal braces that held the ducts had cut into the ducts. I must tell you that the pictures looked suspicious to me as if someone had pinched the metal braces on purpose. They also said that part of the ducts were lying on the ground which restricted the air flow, and that debris was getting into the air intake which meant that all sorts of junk was going into the unit. According to them, all this would cost me over $ 600. Of course, I didn’t think they were sincere and did not go with them, but was now even more concerned about what needed to get done.
I received another cold call 2 weeks later, this time from Guaranteed Quality Restorations. I took a leap of faith since the guy sounded good and told them to go ahead and come. Phil and James showed up. To make the long story short, they confirmed that some of those metal braces looked as if they were purposely pinched. They fixed them for me for free. They also said that the part of the duct that was on the ground, actually was a good thing, air flow was better and that lifting it can cause more problems, so they recommended not touching them. I asked them about the debris that was getting into the unit at the air intake area, and was told that is not true and that it was sealed properly and no area for concern.
They checked the air flow from all the vents and made some adjustments to the ducts to make it better and more efficient. They showed me the number that their machine was reading, so I could see it for myself. They also saw one small tear on one of the ducts but were unable to properly restore it because of the position of the duct. They went ahead and tape it up as best they could but did not charge me at all because it was not an official and up to standard restoration.
All in all, I only paid $ 99, which is what I was quoted to begin with. They explained to me that they had had to fire some people who used to work there because of their bad work ethic, and were trying very hard to bring the company to a much higher standard. I believe they have achieved that, and would definitely go to them the next time I need something!

They cold called me to sell me an inspection of my heating and AC units for onlt $ 49. It seemend a bit too low to be legit, so I wondered what else they wanted to sell me. For $ 1000 they offered me a 5 year service plan and a new thermostat. Knowing that I needed to have my AC looked at anyways and replace my thermostat I agreed to the $ 49 service and also hired them to clean all my ducts for $ 149. The crew they sent was less qualified to inspect my AC than my 5 year old and they didn’t go into my attic to inspect my furnace. Thank god they didn’t try and collect the $ 49. The duct cleaning wasn’t what they promissed. It was simply a removal of the vents, dusting them off, vacuuming them and putting them back on, my 10 year old would have done this for fee. The reverse flow vaccuum they used was totally ineffective as they didn’t close down the system to craate a stong enough vacuum to do any good. The bottom line is they over promissed and underdelivered. On a positive note — they were very nice and courteous.

I received a cold call too, which I usually don’t go for, but I had been looking at the coupons that come in the mail for duct cleaning service and the price sounded good. The guy on the phone was very clear about what would be included, what the extra charge was for more than 8 vents, what other services would be offered, etc. I was then passed over to a scheduler who gave me a convenient time that worked with my schedule. They called to confirm the day before and called before they came to let me know when they expected to arrive.
The husband and wife team came in and got right to work. They brought plastic bumpers to protect the walls/​corners. They saw some taping on my duct work and suggested repair/​replacing it in 5 years’ time (vs immediately), which I appreciated. I passed on the upgrades and they weren’t at all pushy about it. They were polite and professional. I would certainly use them again.

I also received a «cold call» and the timing was perfect. My son has been having difficulty breathing so I have been entertaining a duct clean up. I was offered $ 70 per duct clean up (x2 since 2 furnaces) and 2 area carpet clean for $ 80.
I must admit, if I had looked at the other Unilocal reviews, I would NOT have hired this company. However, I had a decent experience. Although, I did end up paying $ 1300, I believe that the recommended work was indeed necessary. Yes, they did try to sell other services, but for me, I just wanted to have our ducts and carpets cleaned. I feel that they (Charlie and Sarah) did a good job and BOTH were very nice and respectful. I may have overpaid for the «sanitizer», but our house is large and I hope that my son will breathe easier.
For me, the most important thing was to make sure that they were thorough and performed a good job. I would make sure to request Charlie and Sarah as it appears that some of the other employees may not be as good.

Absolutely worst and unprofessional company to work with.
My ordeal: I saw craigslist ad and called them to make an appt and finalized on the rate over the phone. They show up and start inspecting the house and before starting the work they try to sell to change the whole furnace which is running perfectly fine since 10+ years and increase the negotiated price by saying call price did not include proper cleaning etc. Nevertheless, we agreed to pay $ 417 total from $ 217 which was confirmed.
They started the cleaning and what was sold by saying we do bacteria cleaning, fungus cleaning etc, they just used a blower to suck the dust in the vents and thats about it. No special things they do. They cleaned the carpet and trust me it was the worst job ever done. Stains were still visible completely. They were suppose to clean the upholstery but did not clean it. Over and above the technician that came home started shouting and abusing with *F* word and threatening my family. I had to call the company immediately to have them off our property immediately. They website has not address and no details on the company. They say they are in business since 27+ years etc but I am sure this is a SCAM company where they have various people represent themselves as senior management and call you just to say sorry and to see if they can send someone else come and clean the house once again.
I WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL BE BETTER OFF GOING WITH SOME OTHER COMPANY. I HAVE TO FILE A POLICE COMPLAINT AGAINST THESE COMPANY FOR THREATENING MY FAMILY.

I’ve seen first hand the kind of havoc this company leaves in their wake. Letting them anywhere near your property is a huge mistake. It’s baffling that they continue to get away with this type of shoddy work. Thousands of dollars of damage to air ducting for services that aren’t even necessary. Please check BBB before you choose a contractor!!!

I received a call from these guys around the time I was looking to have my vents cleaned, so I said why not. They were able to come the same day they called, and were flexible working around my schedule. They did a good job inspecting, cleaning, and vacuuming the air ducts for a reasonably good price of $ 69. They also recommended that they disinfect and clean the vents with their vacuum system and special spray treatment as well, so I had them do the extra service. Now some reviewers have criticized them for offering this or trying to up-​sell customers, but I actually like breathing clean air and not having mold, bacteria and fungus blowing through my vents and lungs. This required more work than the basic cleaning, filter replacement and vacuuming, so it was a bit more in price. All in all I was happy with their service. It was a bit quick/​rough, but they do good work.
If by chance you go with these guys and don’t want to pay for any extra service, make sure you tell them that clearly up front or during their inspection. You do not have to purchase anything you don’t wan to, but to me it’s worth the reassurance of knowing a bunch of mold/​bacteria isn’t blowing through my air ducts.

Thanks to fellow Unilocalers I was able to quickly check these shysters out as I was on the phone with the high-​pressure sleazebag cold caller.

Just today, these guys called my home number which is:
a) unlisted
b) on the national do not call registry
with a very strong sales pitch to clean ducts, etc.
Please do not support companies such as this which violate federal law.

Similar to another review. Got a cold call for cleaning the vents. $ 79 is what the quoted me. Showed up and said that it wasn’t worth their time to clean the vents if they didn’t clean the units as well. I complained that it seemed like a bait and switch, but they convinced me it was the best thing (shame on me). Total bill came to $ 300.
Very unprofessional workers. Guy just had a kid do all the work. The were supposed to clean all the vents in my home, only cleaned 4 total. I called to complain. They said they would have another person come out and do it right, and I hesitantly set up another appointment. Took the afternoon off work to wait for them and they never showed. When I called again and complained that I don’t get paid when I don’t work, and I don’t like waiting around for no one to show up, they guy said that they don’t get paid to have to redo work. That was it. I am done.
Please do not use this service to clean your ducts. Take your money and go to Home Depot and buy a really nice shop vac and clean them yourself. You will save yourself the money and time, and have a nice shop vac for other chores.

Be very careful before you deal with these people.
Got a cold call on Mar. 7. Offered a complete air duct and filter cleaning, furnace inspection and cleaning for $ 69.95, a special, usually $ 129.95. Accepted it.
Next day they showed up. The $ 69.95 was for up to eight vents and included the furnace inspection. Furnace cleaning would be another $ 130.00. I argued they’d misrepresented themselves, and I should have sent them away. I didn’t, and ended up with a $ 200 bill. Check payable to the owner, not a business name.
Their website says they do business in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, and San José. I’m in the San José area. There is no street address, either on the website or their business card.
Would I use them again? No chance.
