I was looking for a training who could help me get the results I wanted after I plateaued ‘gymin’ it on my own.
John does interval training which was great because it keeps your session moving quickly and he is not shy about adding on weight for your sets. He really makes me feel that during a session my goal is really his goal and if you have seen John in person you know he takes fitness very seriously.
I think one thing I really appreciate is his flexibility with scheduling. If all I have is 30 minutes for a workout I still feel I got my full workout. I walk away completely tired as if I worked out the complete hour. What is also super helpful is that John has so many different types of sets that if I am extremely uncomfortable or simply can’t get my form right, he is able to pick a different set that would target the same muscle group. And I must say he will never let you leave without stretching. Which is probably the worst part for me (since I suck at it)
He is truly an amazing trainer. I think part of what makes him so great is that he doesn’t make you feel like he’s your trainer but your friend forcing you to push harder for the results you want.

I started seeing John about a year ago. I never would’ve been able to make this kind of progress on my own. I am 35 pounds lighter this year than last. John is always friendly and has a flexible schedule. I am kind of a wuss so he pushes me that extra I would never do on my own. He puts up with my whining and complaining as I learn to embrace the burn rather than avoiding it.

My schedule is a little crazy at times and John’s flexibility is what first attracted me to training with him. After having two kids in two years, my fitness goals not only included weight loss but also to build muscle and tone up. I’m not really the athletic type and I’d never really been to a gym before (ah!) but since I started training with John, I now look forward to going to the gym and LOVE the feel of the «burn» that follows a session with him.
John is an amazing trainer! He gives great encouragement and direction; he pushes me in a constructive way to achieve results. John also has a great attitude — he may be a buff guy but he genuinely cares about fitness and well being — inside and out, mental and physical. Most sessions, I’m sleep deprived and overworked but John is incredibly positive and encourages me to go the extra mile as well as compliments me on my progress.
I highly recommend John if you actually want a serious change and are committed to results. He’s worth EVERY penny!

I switched to John’s FitFly fitness from 24hrs, and have been a happy camper for over 2 years now! John is easy to work with, makes you go that extra mile and keeps you stay on course. I’ve lost about 18 lbs, 2 inches of waistline and 6 yrs of age; which is a good thing! My old friends are usually shocked to see my changed shape and compliment on the muscles I’ve built. If you are on the cusp, and need that little extra push to decide, waste no time and contact John. He usually gives free first session, so you don’t have to worry about what-​ifs.

John is an awesome trainer. I have been working with him twice a week for about a year and a half now. I am grateful for John’s flexibility, as my job often has me working late at the last minute and needing to cancel /​reschedule appointments. John has regularly gone above and beyond the call of duty in accommodating my schedule. His attitude in all regards is great, and when I’m feeling drained his energy is contagious. His manner and style make you want to push yourself. I always feel great when I leave.

John Flannery is awesome! John trained me for about a year and half (and continues to), three times per week. John is a very knowledgeable and thoughtful trainer. He works with your strength level and helps you progress consistently to reach your fitness goals. I have a hard time getting motivated to workout (especially by myself) and John, being the thoughtful trainer he is, helps with the motivation aspect and pushes you (within your own pace) to get you to that next level. Upper body strength was what I was lacking most when I started with John and over the course of the past year, John has really helped me get past my plateaus, pushing me ever so closer to that next strength level/​goal. John is also very accommodating and flexible with my very busy schedule, which helps me meet me three days a week strength training goals!
If you are looking for a professional, down to earth, flexible trainer — to help get motivated and reach whatever fitness goals it is that you have — John is the person to call. Strength training is not easy — however, if you are ready for a change and are willing to give it your all, John will help you get there, guaranteed!

There have been three personal trainers that I’ve worked out with for an extended period of time and several others that I’ve worked with a couple of times here and there. Of them all, John has been the best. From about kindergarten to the age of 30 I was either overweight or some degree of obese. Having personal trainers helped me get from about 294 pounds down to 184 pounds. John arguably helped me with the hardest part of that which was the end of it. It took me 2 tries to get below the 200lb mark. The first time I got to 201 lbs and then rebounded to 237. A new girlfriend, job and city all at once can seriously disrupt your routine and I gained some of the weight back. It sucked. Thankfully, I started working out with John two days a week and he helped me drop well below 200lbs for a total loss of 51 pounds in about a year. You gotta also take into account that I put on a good amount of muscle in that time too. He’s got a lot of knowledge so he can figure out a plan to get you to your goals. But honestly, there are a lot trainers who can do that. What’s more important to me is that he’s easy to get a long with and very responsible. It’s hard to reach your goals if your trainer is late/​flaky all the time or unpleasant to be around. Working out with John was always easy in the ways it should be easy and hard in the ways that it needs to be to get results. If you meet him halfway, he will get you to your goals.

Jon trained me 3 times per week for about 2 years and during that time my muscle mass increased significantly. More importantly, I became stronger. Much stronger. Jon seems to have limitless patience (he trains my teenaged daughter too) and a neverending supply of enthusiasm for fitness. His rates are reasonable and he tries to be flexible on schedule. Highly recommended!

Jon trained me for about 1 year (3 –4 times per week). He was an excellent trainer and also kept me accountable to my goals. Also, he was very flexible with my hectic work schedule. ½ sessions were no problem. Jon’s got a great attitude and knows his stuff. I gained significant muscle mass and lost a very noticeable amount of fat.
