Diwakar Taxes

Worst choice, seems they are only interested in taking money. Filed taxes through them this year. Paid consultation fees early this year, whatever he suggested initially to save taxes, turned out to be not applicable while filing actual taxes. I think everything was told just to impress and ensure we file through them. Got letter from tax department that calculation was wrong and we owe extra money. Diwakar taxes was not really helpful on emailing them. You had to really remind them to read their inbox emails. He said call the tax department and say that calculation was correct, tax department purposely send such letters to take more money. We called tax department but it’s really not a helpline. We finally paid the extra taxes, plus high amount to Diwakar for filing it. I will suggest file using Turbo taxes, don’t waste your money.

Simply professional. From the moment I took the appointment and filed my taxes, they were in constant touch and ensured everything went fine. Mr. Amit helped me save quite a lot during his filing and is very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend them to my friends.

This was our 3^rd time filing with their help. Last 2 times were directional and informative. Helpful. This year was horrible, such a disappointment!
1. Billing: No consistent billing policy. Our friends were provided returning discounts, however nothing was offered to us. On top, our agent charged us $ 160, with no such billing card ever explained to us or mentioned anywhere on their site or ever heard of in past 2 years!
2. Quality: Even on being asked questions or expressed interest in how the additional tax is deducted, etc. etc. agent gave us no explanation or appropriate answers. She simply did a robotic read of sections and read out sections like c=a-b. Seriously!
3. Offering: No advise or help on how could we get some tax relief or benefits
4. Service: Never shared the final doc with us for review before it could be submitted. Just a plain old simple section read out.
I am just plain disappointed by this year’s. Our last 2 years of filing with them were fruitful. We worked towards goals set during tax filing. This year’s experience has encouraged us to do filing on own — if it’s just auto fils, populate from w2, «tax doc is doing its own thing and calculation», etc. why are we paying for it. Won’t be returning next time.

I blindly rely on Diwakar Taxes, its quick, easy, no hidden costs, I am continuing since last 4 years, good part is that they ask a lot of questions which we are not aware of, so that helps in understanding and maximizing tax returns.

Diwakarji Sir and Amit has been helping me file my taxes for past 5 years. Everytime, I come back satisfied with their service. They have the right knowledge about all forms etc. and it gives me great piece of mind, realizing that the taxes have been done right and I am getting all deductions and benefits possible. Diwakar Sir is always smiling even in times of huge work load and still takes time to explain each point and questions I ask. They are also very honest with the price and do no over-​charge unnecessary as others. I am a customer for life!

Highly unprofessional. Made typos in our application last year and did not take responsibility for it — blamed it on us saying we should have checked before submitting. Agreed, but that’s not what you would expect from someone you trust with you tax filing. Made us wait for more than an hour despite having an appointment, and then cancelled our appointment this year because we expressed concern regarding the same. Honestly, there are way better and more professional options available.

Went here because we recently moved to the bay area and I was filing taxes for 3 states which I could not have done myself. We got an appointment about 2 months in advance because they get booked pretty quick (read earlier reviews). We made sure to get the appointment with Mr Diwakar. We were in an out in about an hour/​ish. Here is the good part– they are good at what they do, they are very polite and courteous, and here is the best: their price is unbeatable. I have found no one cheaper than these guys even if I look at my grad school days during which I thought doing taxes were cheapest. Anyways long story short: highly recommend these for taxes. Make sure to book appointment in advance and you will be in good shape.

Wow, these guys must be REALLY good. I called for an appointment and was told that they were not accepting «New» customers anymore and were completely booked till April.
I wish I were the lucky ones to get an appointment here! Maybe next year, or the year after!

So happy I went here for my taxes! I had done research and it seemed like this would be my best bet and it sure was! Super affordable and they take their time to make sure everything is correct and that you’re getting the most of your money. I’m so glad I found them and will definitely be going again next year!

My taxes became fairly complicated this year due to daycare, relocation, having 4 w2’s, selling house etc… Mr Diwakar took me on… I came prepared with all the cost breakdowns and papers and Mr Diwakar finished my taxes with ease. He explained every step and also gave me pointers on what to do for the next time… Great service… friendly staff… The price is also good.

This was my first Tax filling in USA. I was attended by Mr. Amit. In spite of very tight schedule, he answered all my questions very patiently. I am not much aware of US tax laws, and as per my experience with Amit, I think He has quite good knowledge of US taxes. He clearly told me what declarations will have what effect on your return in present and in future. The fee they charge is also very reasonable. I think I will stick with them for future years too and I will certainly recommend Diwakar Taxes if you are looking for CPA services in Bay Area.

I have worked with shashank, amit and diwakar ji himself. I was amazed how everyone remembered me on my second and subsequent visits, which tells a lot about the customer service.
First time filing, follow up cases, anything else, this is my goto place.
Adequately priced, not rigid on prices, they provide discounts where it doesn’t make sense to charge you.

Prashant was polite and very detailed in helping us prepare our taxes. Upon request, he also took some time to investigate getting us some extra credits. I was refunded a part of my fee when he ultimately realized I did not need to file a specific form. I’ll definitely use them again.

Awesome service by Diwakar sir. Extremely fast, accurate, easy, reliable, and very patient. He explained the entire process and gave a bunch of tax advices as well. Very very nice and kind man. He worked late night till 9:40 to get our taxes done. The prices are extremely reasonable. We’ll get out taxes done with Diwakar sir as long as we stay in California. Thank you being so patient sir.

Did my taxes for 2013 and 2014. These people know US taxes in and out.
My taxes were not trivial. I am a Non Resident for tax purposes who transitioned from F1 to H1 and had 2 employers in different states with stock options etc. These guys nailed it in an hour. They got me additional tax rebate due to my relocation. Plus, they also saved me from paying additional taxes in the case of buy/​sell of company stocks which was a huge win. Also, their charges are reasonable.
I had a similar complicated scenario last time when I sold some shares of a company whose stocks I had received couple of years ago when I was outside US. Overall, they really try to help their client get the benefits that they are entitled to.
The only problem with them is during the tax months, getting an appointment is almost impossible!

These guys are well organized and amazing. They will answer all your queries and the service is totally worth money. I am F1 student and my tax was complicated as it involved multiple states and various stocks transactions from multiple brokers. It was handled by one their consultant and was really quick and without errors. They advice various ways where we can save taxes.
Definitely will recommend and always file taxes with them.

Have been getting my Taxes done at Diwakars’ since my F1 days in 2013 and now. 3 years here, and Amit Kumar has been doing a pretty decent job, be it OPT or amendments or ITINs. These guys really do care about getting as much tax returns as possible in a lawful way of course. They charge very reasonable too.
No qualms, no issues, recommended!
