Was referred to this place by an apple rep. When I called I was immediately told that they could not help me as they «do not work on older computers». I had not even told the guy what the problem was yet! He had no recommendations and/​or no number to give me to any place within the area that could potentially help me. He was just very short with me and not helpful. I would be okay if he couldn’t help but referred me to another place.

These guys are awesome. Friendly, knowledgable, and super excited about hunting down the problem. I was pretty sure my MacBookPro was toast when I brought it in (it is almost five years old so I wouldn’t be too surprised), but they Jason and Kyle found life in the old gal yet! And they cleaned her up so she even looks shiny new. What service! Wish they weren’t moving to Santa Clara.

The location may fool you but this is a great place to bring your equipment for factory repairs. I needed to get a recall done for my iPhone 5, the on/​off button didn’t work. I logged into apple care so I could go to a genius bar somewhere close by. The earliest appointment I could get was literally for 1 week later. Luckily there are also authorized apple repair centers and this place happens to be one of them.
What you need to do to help speed up the process is fill out thier form online so they have all your information entered. I’m guessing they could do it there but I’m sure it makes it faster if you do some of the legwork.
After filling out the form I take my phone down to this location and the take it and set me up for repair. What happens is they check it out to make sure it will fall under the replacement plan/​warranty etc and then ship it off to a apple repair center. Why did I like it, they took my phone in the same day. I walked into the apple store and saw if I could be seen sooner. I could not. Looked up this place and boom. Phone repaired in under a week. No charge since it was covered under the recall plan. They gave me a call to pick it up and it works as good as new.
Speaking with the desk folks there they also do authorized repair for major computer companies etc. I didn’t have any problem with them and like I said, they helped me right away. They even offered a loaner phone like apple would have but I didn’t need it at the time.
I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to get an authorized repair from apple etc. as these guys are local, get the repairs done and take care of the company paperwork for you to submit it for repairs.
I would come back if I had another issue with my tech.

A great place all-​around. I went there to take care of a hardware problem with my 2011 MacBook Pro (a known manufacturing defect of the graphic card, recently covered under Apple Repair Extension Program). I first send an inquiry by email and got an answer within minutes explaining the process, their free diagnostic policy and that most repairs would take 3 – 5 days. I opened a ticket and dropped off the laptop the next day. A few hours later, I received a confirmation that the diagnostics were complete, along with an estimate for other possible repairs (which I declined). The repairs were done in 4 days, upon which I was notified and picked up the machine. It’s been working fine since, so I am satisfied with the repairs. And generally with the prompt service. The staff was courteous and explained everything very clearly.

This review is long overdue — this happened about a year ago. Really nice receptionist, Melissa, sent me updates even when nothing had happened. Experience was downhill from there. Took them a month to figure out my hard drive needed to be replaced. Then they installed windows 7 instead of 8 and argued with me when I pointed it out. Ever since, I’ve gotten a pop-​up every 20 minutes saying my copy of windows isn’t genuine.
Ok in a pinch, but I’d try somewhere else first.

Have had nothing but problems with this company. Delivery to incorrect address, missing bottom plate covers on the RAM laptop cover. And the last straw was a $ 300.00 charge to replace a 60GB Hard drive. When I asked about the inflated price I was cut off before finishing my sentence with, «we only use apple products.» Apple doesn’t make hard drives and when I questioned this, got the same response. Not working with this company anymore or giving my business to them. Top tier management is rude and incompetent.

I’ve been using ComputerCare for 7 years and for the most part they’ve been pretty good. Back in the day I believe the owner would come into my SOMA office every case and that was pure awesome. If I needed something not warranty repairable they would ask tons of questions to make sure the correct item was ordered thus preventing any F-​ups.
Two years later I moved to a new company and at first the new driver came into the office followed by me having to wait out in the curb for the driver to do a drive by pickup. Lil shady I thought but whatever I didn’t want to commute the mile to the Apple store. I asked the sales team about this and got a whatev response about how difficult it is to park.
Three years after this at a new company (where there is an Apple store literally two blocks away) one of my machines had a dent on the case where the keyboard is. I asked for a bottom case repair, paid $ 250+ for it ONLY TO FIND OUT THEY REPLACED THE BOTTOM LID AND NOT THE CASE. They then wouldn’t reimburse me, fix the actual dent or even credit what was wrong. It was totally obvious where the true damage was and their response was OH WELL SOME PEOPLE HAVE SCRATCHES ON THE BOTTOM SO WE THOUGHT YOU WANTED THAT REPAIRED.
I immediately said cancel my account.
Done, I’ll walk to the far Apple store.

I’m very thankful for this company as it saved me the headache of visiting an overcrowded Apple Store at Valley Fair.
I came here because of my iphone5. My phone wouldn’t turn on anymore. The diagnostic test i had run on it 3 months ago at Apple in Hong Kong (I moved temporarily to HK) said my battery was done. But, I wanted a second opinion in the USA.
So Computer care did the diagnostic test and said that the «mother board» of the phone needed replacement. And the battery was fine. They would send it to Apple to get it fixed on my behalf. This would take about 3 – 5 days.
Anyway.the cost would be $ 278 to do this.
A battery replacement would have been $ 85.
But after all that, I decided not to fix the phone… If I would be Paying $ 300 to fix it, I might as well get a iPhone6+!

These guys were great. Had issues with my out of warranty Toshiba laptop with overheating. I dropped off, and they completed diagnostics and repair for $ 65 in less than 24 hours. Fixed the problem — almost like having a new laptop now! Good communications and service, reasonable pricing, and no surprises.

I had a great experience. 24 hr turnaround, low fee, and they got it right. When you primary machine breaks, its pretty crippling so finding someone local to deal with it was great.

ComputerCare always does a great job and has excellent customer service. I have had many good experiences working with them and highly recommend this company.

I needed a warranty battery replacement done on my iPhone and had no desire to deal with the Genius Bar, especially given that I had to schedule an appointment 3 at least days in advance. So I called up ComputerCare, who gave me clear instructions for backing up and resetting my phone in advance and told me I could walk in at any time. Not only did I walk in without warning, but I walked out 20 minutes later with a brand new battery having done little more than sign my name. I will never go near the Genius Bar again!

I’ve come here twice to get warranty service on my laptop. The first time, the pin holding the DVD drive in place broke, requiring the base to be replaced (since the pin was supposed to be attached to the base). They diagnosed the problem and ordered the part, telling me they would send me an email in a few days when it arrived. This is much more convenient than shipping off your laptop for warranty service, since you don’t have to pay shipping, only have to wait the shipping time one-​way, and most importantly, can use the laptop during the waiting time. I returned and they replaced the base in less than 10 minutes. Returning home, I discovered that the wifi was not working. I went back with my laptop, and the technician found their mistake (not securing the antennae properly after opening the back) and promptly fixed it.
The second time, my laptop completely died and would not turn on. I left it with them on Wednesday, and it was completely ready for pickup on Friday. They told me the motherboard had died and they replaced it.
They provide a very helpful service for local Thinkpad owners (as well as Apple, Toshiba, and HP). My rating for them would be 5 stars if not for the wifi slip-​up.

I had a recurring issue with my Lenovo laptop that they were able to troubleshoot, by discovering a hardware issue where I thought I had a software issue. Two previous service providers had not been able to determine the issue. Part of this was covered by maintenance and the non maintenance stuff was very reasonable. They are service oriented and I appreciated the electronic link to my particular case.

Wasn’t able to use this company due to holiday scheduling, however they took a look at my computer which is under warranty to see if it was a quick fix. Very professional and I would use them for my warranty repairs in the future.

My Lenovo laptop died while abroad, so I looked around for what I could do (it was still under warranty).
I opened up a work order with ComputerCare, the closest warranty service that Lenovo sponsors near me, on what was ~Friday noon in California and ~Saturday where I was. My service request was approved in an hour, and I was also quoted the cost if the warranty was void due to liquid damage (not my case).
I took it in on the next Monday morning, a day after I got back, at around 11am. It’s a very nice place, the receptionist explained how the process would work and that she expected the repair to be done in 3 – 5 business days, for free. One thing I was concerned about was my hard drive; unfortunately, since the keyboard/​power panel was the likely problem, I didn’t want to pull up my mSATA drive and perhaps disrupt the repair process.
ComputerCare emailed me back in 2 hours (!!) saying that the tech had finished repairs! The only thing I found trouble with was that they had booted the computer and tried to log into a guest account; I don’t think that was necessary to fix the problem. But five stars for amazing turnaround and great service.

Although they weren’t very clear about the terms of the repair, they were pretty fast…
Original Review: Pretty annoyed… They changed the terms of the repair mid-​way: they needed a credit card on file to proceed with the repair. I wasn’t informed of that in the beginning. If I didn’t want to give them my credit card, I had to pay a $ 65 fee to cancel the repair!!!

A couple of years ago we brought in one of our Mac’s for a hard drive replacement and data transfer. Not only were they very professional and prompt, my Mac worked even better than before when I got it back. I would highly recommend them. On another note, I wondered about the dearth of easily readable reviews and the 3, 1-​stars. It was only when I looked at the filtered reviews that I saw Unilocal’s blackmail team is hot on it again. Every *filtered* review was either 4 or 5 stars, with the majority being 5. Based on my own experience with Unilocal’s «salespeople», I’m guessing ComputerCare isn’t willing to pay to have their best review’s on the front page. Do yourself a favor and actually look at the filtered reviews.

In recent months, I had various defects on my Lenovo Thinkpad repaired here. It appears that Thinkpads nowadays aren’t as reliable anymore, and thus I was glad that I had purchased a 3-​year warranty. Thus I didn’t have to pay anything – otherwise the repairs would have been very costly I am sure: inter alia, the display and the system board needed to be replaced.
Computer Care executed all repairs well and promptly. No data was lost, no additional problems occurred. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and they kept me updated on the status of the repair by phone. I couldn’t have asked for more.

ComputerCare fixed everything that was acting up with my computer, even something that I had previously been told (all right, by them) would be unfixable, unless I wanted to pay an exorbitant fee.
This experience completely restored my optimism in ComputerCare’s services! Thanks, Tuan!
