BLACKGARLICSAMGYETANGGETINMYBELLYYYY! BN Chicken is known for the samgyetang and as with any specialized place the menu is limited to a few items, but all executed well. The black garlic samgyetang is my favorite(it’s the regular with pieces of black garlic served on the side), but I’ve also tried their spicy chicken and fried chicken wings and they’re also good. The spicy chicken is huge and can feed about 3 – 4 people if you’re ordering another dish. The fried chicken is plain, but sometimes simple is better! Tip — The samgyetang takes a while so call in about 20 minutes before to place your order.

BN Chicken is a restaurant a little bit difficult to find since they are undergoing construction on the outside but truly worth it! Their Samgyetang is the sole reason why I came here! They serve a quail size chicken, stuffed with sweet glutinous rice, ginseng, dates and other herbs — healthy and satisfying. My friend and I ordered the Black Garlic as well as the original Samgyetang. I must say, I enjoyed the original so much more. The broth(in Original) is so much clearer and lighter. The Black Garlic, on the other hand has a more robust garlic taste, which I am particularly not too fond of. The service was outstanding, the Korean auntie was nice enough to spoon us our chicken, and making sure it is to our liking. I would definitely be back and try more of their chicken dishes, the Katsu and wings just looks so darn good!

I heard about this dish Samgyetang from Manchi who is a very popular YouTube chef. I am a bit soup obsessed and my parents used to make ginseng chicken soup at home but ours was Chinese style so I have some familiarity with those flavours. Ginseng can be a taste to get used to. Anyhow I was definitely curious about the Korean version and BN Chicken did not disappoint. It’s a small restaurant of approx 20 seats and a tiny menu of just a few different items. I had the regular kamgyetang(18 $) which is their specialty and my husband ordered some fried chicken wings(12 $). We shared our dishes and everything was delicious. The chicken soup had rich flavours and the chicken wings were crispy and juicy. The side dishes were also delicious, we were served kimchi, kimchi radish and another light pickled gingery radish(that turned out to be my absolute fav). The service was fast and very courteous. It feels like a lovely family style restaurant. I would love to go back! By the way, go early(6pm) otherwise you might have to wait a bit on the weekend.

Came in to relax a while the wife was getting her nails done next door. Ordered a beer for me and a soda for my little one. The jerk behind the counter said” no you must order food, no drink only.” Absolutely horrible greeting from the employee he probably could of talked me into to some food. But with that rude greeting this place will never get a cent from me or anyone else I know. Honestly i felt he was discriminating me. Again the worst ive ever seen for hospality. I will never walk in there again.

Regular chicken soup was very tasty and Asian style. Loved it! Wings were not greasy but fried well. BN chicken is a really good place for people enjoying food with little salt.

Best samgyetang(chicken ginseng soup) and best friend chickens in town. This is my regular place to get these dishes. For me, the fried chicken is better than Bonchon unless for people that like Bonchon sauce on their fried chicken. Also next to my favorite comic shop Illusive comic and games.

Their samgyetang is magical and does wonders to a congested head. Walk in and immediately get greeted by a team of welcoming ladies who feel like«mom» is ready to fix you a bowl of goodness. When it comes out, the soup is boiling hot and they take a ladle to smash down the magical chicken in half. It’s amazing to see how soft the chicken is. That initial taste man. its thick, its soothing, its goooooooood. If you order the sides like the garlic or the ginseng, the staff is always willing to help and is happy to answer how to enjoy the food together. Love this place man. Even the chicken wings are good. Yes, I said it.

Came in and ordered the Regular Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup. It is my 3rd or 4th time here and definitely feel very good after the meal! The soup was very savory and the chicken was tender. It was delicious. The soup is well-enough for one or two people as there are 3 different side dishes along with your meal. Never have disappointed me. Good place to go if you have the cold and you need some good food therapy!

This is the only place to get Korean ginseng chicken soup. I’ve eaten here at least 10 times and I’ve always had great tasting food. The red ginseng chicken is my favorite. This is a very healthy restaurant and everything is always freshly made. You can see the chef making every dish right behind the counter. The service is great and the workers are always making sure I have refills of my tea and kim chi. Worth trying at least once!

I haven’t really had the chance to try samgyetang anywhere else, but this place is great! It’s lovely to see the whole chicken sitting in the bowl. This is my goto place when sick — nothing beats hot chicken soup. It does seem a bit pricey, but since I can’t get it anywhere else, they get a pass.

Service — 3.5 stars attentative korean style service — though it would have been great to have more frequent refills of the banchan Food — 4 stars Don’t come here and get the chicken stew, or the fried chicken or whatever is distracting you. You come here for the samgyetang(chicken soup). Have tried all the varieties, and honestly, they’re all great. Slow cooked, with very tasty chicken. The chicken itself tastes like they are roasted the chicken first. The soup is flavorful and the banchan is served traditional style(whole uncut radish and leaves of napa cabbage which they give you scissors to cut). Would definitely come back and it is probably the best korean chicken soup you’ll find in northern california

This was pretty good. I didn’t really try anything except the chicken, but the chicken got the job done. We ended up coming here because 99 chicken was closed on a Monday. Obviously, we were in the mood for chicken. The portion for the chicken order was a pretty good deal, you get a LOT. Comes with a nice sauce on the side and a cole slaw type side. Also loved the free picked appetizer it came with. Rice was $ 1 extra. I don’t think it’s as great as 99, but it gets the job done!

Feeling Sick? Catching a Cold? Well here comes the miracle soup! Follow this review for PRO advice. None of that n00b stuff other reviewers are posting. I’ve been here 10+ times to know how it goes down. NOWTOTHEREVIEW. PROTIP #1: — Get Kalguksu(Chicken noodle soup) [my go-to] or… — Get Samgyetang(Black garlic is the one I go with) [if you need the extra healing powers] If you took my pro tip advice, then you’ll find yourself faced with a piping hot bowl of soup that – after you’re done– will leave you sweating and your cold gone. It’s like the heat of the soup boils up the germies. The dishes are quite simple but very effective. PROTIP #2: — The kimchi here is great. Goes very well with the kalguksu. Tastes«fresher» and not overly fermented or sour. — If you’re getting the samgyetang, dip the chicken in salt/white pepper. Do it. DOEEET. If you followed pro tip #2, then your dining experience will be even better. The samgyetang is definitely flavorful enough but is also not too salty because it’s supposed to be healthy. It’s like giving kids«healthy multigrain cereal» and covering it in sugar cubes, drizzling in hydrogenated oils, and topping it with ice cream. Kindaaa defeats the point. PROTIP #3: — Don’t bother with other stuff on the menu. Some of the bad reviews here are based on the foods that this place isn’t really specialized in. Someone mentioned that it’s a fast food joint? Uh… no. It’s not. It’s piping hot food that you should be there to truly enjoy. Clay pots and hot soup — think, think! Seriously, does it look like you’re looking up from a counter ordering food? I’m blown away. almost like some people don’t even eat at these places before reviewing.

I was always bummed that I could never find a Korean restaurant with samgyetang UNTILMYFRIENDRECOMMENEDTHISPLACETOME. HALLELUJAHSWEETSTUFFEDCHICKENGOODNESS hidden away in a plaza, it’s rightful praise taken by 99 chicken(since it’s really close by), is the treasure trove of gluttonous rice, chestnuts, jjb, ginseng, and garlic shoved into the dead carcass of a tiny little chicken. I know this isn’t a very appetizing way to describe food, but i see food the way i do so… the soup is PERFECTLY seasoned, but unless you like your food on the saltier side they provide a little pot of sea salt to modify the flavor of your soup. they also provide an great portion of chopped green onions. the chicken is moist and slips right off the bones! the server I had monday was the sweetest little thing; immediately she was very attentive and asked what we would like to start off with for drinks(soft drinks, ice water or hot tea), and was always sure to ask us how we liked the food although the place was poppin. i would give them a bonus star for their kimchi alone; i rarely say i like kimchi and if i do, it’s because it reminds me of my dad’s BUTTHEIRSISBETTER??? thoroughly enjoyed eating here, would definitely come again. oh, and i know price may seem intimidating but with GR9 samgyetang, this is totally worth it.

Y’all are tripping complaining that they don’t have a variety of banchan and that their fried chicken didn’t amaze you. HELLO, this is a specialty traditional, Korean chicken soup and noodles restaurant. You don’t walk into KFC complaining that their biscuit was gross, go to a damn bakery. Jeez. Anyway, I love, love the chicken soup — the meat is tender and the soup will heal your stuffed up, sniffly face if you have a cold. Coming from an authentic Korean, this place is legit if you want a legit experience. If you want a fried chicken experience go somewhere else.

So let’s just say this was an end to our KFC(Korean Fried Chicken Fail). We started our night expecting Bön Chon Chicken… SADFACE they are closed on Tuesdays. Second choice 99 chicken… even sadder face… closed for kitchen renovations… Hey! what’s this? BN Chicken, sign reads«YUMMYKOREANFRIEDCHICKEN» Okay why not since our night was dedicated to KFC… Short menu… chicken options Chicken wings or chicken Katsu both $ 10.99. Look on Unilocal Black Garlic is good. no pictures but okay it’s a side dish for $ 5. Ordered one of each chicken katsu and chicken wings. Tried to order black garlic but apparently that’s a special or something that they didn’t have? Also ordered«noodle» The side order of noodles was a bowl of udon in oil? It was bland but I guess if we’re eating so much fried stuff. Probably would’ve been better off with a bowl of rice. Chicken Katsu was okay. The sauce was saltier than normal. I wasn’t really in the mood for katsu since that’s not really KFC. The chicken wings were okay… nothing special about them and didn’t have all the flavorings of korean style chicken both the wet and the dry ones. The wings just tasted like normal deep fried chicken wings. Both came with a side of cabbage in some sort of dressing that was good. That deserved a star, but other than that maybe our hopes were too high but I would not recommend this place for chicken. I guess the place doesn’t have central AC either… and with the heat from frying things up in the back they had a bunch of standing fans pointing right at the tables… PLUS the bathroom was clean. All in all… our night was a disappointment. I probably won’t be coming back.

Came here for a late dinner with my friends who were craving ginseng soup. We had such a hearty meal and we enjoyed it tremendously. Original samgyetang(ginseng chicken soup) — Gosh, this is so good! The broth has a very strong ginseng flavor and the chicken was soft and tender. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED! I see myself coming back again for the other flavors! Spicy Chicken Stew — this dish is for 2 people(but I think it can feed 3 – 4). It takes about 30minutes to cook, but it is well worth it! The soup is served in a large pot and they will set up an electric heater so you can keep the stew warm. It was not too spicy, and the broth was tasty. Definitely come with a couple of people so you can order this and share! I was here on a Monday night around 830pm and the restaurant was pretty empty despite being pretty small. The menu is pretty limited, but I still wish we had more people so we can try the other dishes, such as the noodles. The side dish selection was rather disappointing :(Definitely mediocre/below average. Overall, it was a yummy dinner. Enjoyed it tremendously and highly recommended! Thank you Unilocal for the wonderful recommendation.

Korean food is more than BBQ or bibimbap or something spicy. This summer, I discovered samgyetang, a rice stuffed young chicken soup. And the four stars is for BN’s samgyetang. The restaurant is small and the menu is even smaller. I think there were three dishes: variations of samgyetang, chicken noodle soup, and something like katsu. The samgyetang here is delightful, rich chicken broth flavored distinctly with ginseng and black garlic. This will be a perfect dish for a cold day or if you need something warm and comforting. The chicken noodle was fine and I’d pass on the katsu. The katsu was dry and boring. Before you go, they are on the pricey side. Also, you get only 3 side dishes, spicy red kimchi, fresh, white kimchi and radish kimchi. You don’t get all the other sides that you would normally get at typical Korean restaurants. Also, the food tends to be on the less salty side so I suggest you ask for some salt on the side to add to your broth.
