Blinky’s Can’t Say

When I went to Blinky’s I walked in and started waking to the bar when a creepy looking guy said «come here» with a cigarette in hand sitting at the bar. We sat down and gave our IDs to the bartender and the man walked up and said «next time I ask you to come here you come to me cause you made me me look bad» I honestly though he was a drug dealer based on the way he came up to us in a oversized red jacket and baggy pants looking high on something. He then said «you better never come back» as he walked away. I asked the bartender who he was and it turns out he was their security. He never presented himself as such, never asked for ID, all he ever said was «come here» then threatened me and my boyfriend. Needless to say I’ll never be back to this place even though the bartender made me a great drink. I’ve never been so scared and creeped out at the same time!

This review is in response to another users recent review. The ABC (alcohol beverage control) rules on passports gives the establishments owner the right to accept a passport or not. In this case our boss does not accept them. Basically because there is no height, weight, hair color or eye color info on a passport for us to go off of. Sorry but that’s the way it is.
So after her friend left because she only had a passport this chick comes up orders a drink and no she DIDN“T get carded because she looked over 30! She then proceeded to make a stink to the second bartender about the passport again. Shortly after this she went to our DJ and started complaining that she hasn’t been called to sing a song. The DJ showed her the slips of people waiting to sing and this chick hasn’t even filled out a slip LOL. So I went over to the stage and told her to stop disrespecting our DJ. She threw the microphone at my face in which I caught and I told her to get out. She then took her pint of beer and smashed it on our dance floor. Real classy huh?
Funny how some stuff was omitted from the story. If you want to go to a bar where drama isn’t tolerated then come to Blinky’s because we obviously don’t allow that.

Everyone was fine except for one bartender.
Imagine a socially challenged woman who is a racist trailer trash and is a cat lady because everyone hates her and she can’t figure out why and only cats are left to show her any affection.
That’s the bartender. Creepy, inappropriate, lacks a filter over her foul mouth. They need to fire this woman and hire better. It’s her creepiness that’s bringing down the place and everyone prefers Broncos.
Avoid the crazy blond woman. Do yourself a favour and just hang out at Broncos. Way friendlier and they have a good sense of decency.
But if she’s off for the night, then sure, stay and give this business some love.
Can’t believe she told me to go back to China. Seriously?

Good hole in a wall to hang. Local place for me and I definitely agree with the other reviews — if u want a good, strong, decent priced drink, come to Blinky’s.

Nice place to hang out with family and friends. But needs to change the new karaōke guy. Never has the song we like to sing. Always says don’t have it. Not to be mean but we need the blonde guy back. The lady’s behind the bar r so sweet.

Bartenders are sweet, people are chill and the price is just right. They have karaōke every Friday and Saturday night if you like drinking and singing.

Fuck this place, came in on a Sunday. All the old regulars gave me and my friend the eye like we dont belong. Owner and bartender checked my DMV issued Ca ID… deemed it was a fake… wtf??? Went to Broncos next door no issues. Never had any issues with my ID till this place, they just wanted to hate even though they checked my id under a blacklight. I am 33, ytf would I need a fake ID?

Got surprised by the fact they wont accept passports as IDs anymore. They claim to need information on body type and height. Now, come on. I can enter your country but not a simple bar with this document? Lamest excuse ever. Should have stayed at Da Silva’s which is located right beside it.

Too damn loud. The bass is obnoxious.

Decent place, pretty good size and decently priced drinks. Beer could be colder and the bartenders could be a little more generous with their pours. Definitely An older crowd but ain’t nothing wrong with that. The bartender was nice but paid too much attention to her regulars. I just moved in the area and definitely could be a regular but I don’t want to have to earn good service

Heather served me a sidecar that was delicious and for a slightly off the beaten path bar she is really sweet and makes a non regular feel at home.

You’re gonna love this place! Great dive bar with TVs and a bartending staff that knows what they’re doing and will make any drink you’d like. AND THEY ARE OPEN AT 8 WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT IN LIFE

Great karaōke place, lots of locals. Good music selection and a great place for small groups. Don’t come on a Thursday night, packed with Santa Clara university students.

If you are looking for a friendly bar with strong and well priced drinks, then this is the place. There is a pool table, dart boards, pinball and a small dance floor which gets used on DJ nights.
The place blows up on Thursday nights with a lot of the SCU crowd in the late hours. Fridays and Saturday nights are a lot of fun as well. They have been putting on a 7:30pm Sunday pool tournament recently and I had fun the few times I have joined them for it.

Thursday night. Place was dead. They have pool tables and a jukebox, but man, this crowd looked dejected, and it was quiet as hell in here. And by «crowd», I mean 5 people at the bar. Maybe I’ll come back another time, but I just grabbed a drink and left. Nothing doing here.

This is our go to. It never gets crazy packed, they have pool and darts, and the karaōke is a blast. All the bartenders are great, and the drinks are cheap. Tall boys of PBR are my go to!

i mean i go almost every week, but its only because I am following the crowd. ON thursdays it is so crowded with SCU kids that i literally leave within a half hour and go next door. ON fridays there’s karaōke which is fun but there are a lot of strange old people so get a big group if you want to go.

This little suburban dive bar gets sooo jammed packed with scantily clad young tender SCU college girls on the weekend nights, that you kinda cant help but to cop a feel as one moves through the bar from one side to another, but then again why would I want to?

I think I would prefer Blinky’s over The Hut because it is wayy more spacious, and there is actually some room to dance. On busy nights, the crowd consists of mostly SCU students. This isn’t a place for oldies, unless you want to creep. It gets busy around 1130 to midnightish.
In terms of drinks, I had two drinks last night… The first drink was an Irish car bomb. $ 7, and let me tell you… DO NOT ORDER THIS HERE. The bartender pretty much poured Guinness directly into the mix, rather than letting us drop it in like a bomb. It tasted really funky, and curdled, so I tried to drink it super fast to keep myself from gagging. Second drink I had was a shot of tequila, and it tasted pretty horrible, but did the job.
Another annoying thing was that, there were 3 bartenders that night, and all three of them were serving the the right side of the bar, and leaving the left side unattended. I think I was waiting for like an entire hour before getting a drink (fail, I know). Lame things aside, if you come with a positive and ready to have fun attitude, a fun night will always result :)

What to do when drinks run out at a college houseparty? cab over to Blinky’s.
And that’s exactly what we did, on my boyfriend’s birthday.
Thursday night… around late 10-​ish. the place was dead. My boyfriend says it’s pretty unusual as this place gets packed… but nah. it was pretty dead on dead.
We ordered jäger bombs, and i was surpised the shots were served on mini plastic cups. I mean… c’mon. How am i gonna bomb my jäger when it’ll just float in a bigger plastic cup, now? Might as well just use those gargle cups they use in airplanes. More shot-​glass looking with dainty looking designs. right? So im guessing… maybe it can be pretty rowdy here… therefore plastics come to the rescue.
So…hmm. quick night for us… boyfriend and i just left.
