Shalhoob Meat Co

My family has been buying meat from the Shalhoobs for years for the house for our big party’s or Christmas dinners. It wasn’t up until recently that I was doing a private event for my business that I discovered they do catering too. They delivered/​catered 3 items for party and were a huge hit. I got the fig jam wrapped in prosciutto/​and the others we’re a puff pastry goat cheese with micro arugula & more. Not one crumb was left over! Need catering? Call the Meat Co. Because they’re more than just butchers. Eat, drink and be merry ;)

I wanted to try Shalhoob for the burger because I’ve tried a lot of burgers around Santa Barbara. I expect a lot from a place that sells meat as its primary business.
The Bacon Jam Burger is unique, because it has notes of bacon. It’s almost like eating breakfast, that bacon jam leaves you craving more. The patty itself was cooked medium rare as I requested and it was good. I could taste high quality beef.
The bun wasn’t special, nor was the white cheddar. But combined the burger was very good. I ate it very quickly because I was hungry.
I would place the burger here in the top five for Santa Barbara. It’s quite good, not necessarily the best but at the very least you can expect a unique taste. You won’t eat the burger and think «oh this reminds me of the burger at (insert other place here)».
The fries are very good. Very good. Probably the best fries I’ve had in Santa Barbara.

Bomb describes it i had the jam burger it was cooked perfect i had it medium and it was a great delight to my tastebuds the fries where lightly seasoned great taste would definitely recommmend. The service was awesome everyone was really friend there staff was very attentive and one of the folks told me that they would cook any of the steaks that they had at fridge. I think ill try that next time Great job! If u r craving a great burger go here!!!

I grew up eating tritip and I have never been able to find anyone that can compare to my Dads bbq! This is the spot! Juicy, tender, and sooooo delicious!
I will be going back alot! Look forward to more of a variety of side dishes like beans, garlic bread & potato salad

Super delicious bacon cheeseburger with French friesthat are also super delicious. I love the ketchup and ranch mixed… I love this place. I love how Leandra provides the best customer service. We had a little mix up but everything was still beyond my expectations. The Shalhoob’s should be very proud of Leandra and this particular establishment. Will definitely be returning and bringing others with me

As a local, I’ve known about Shalhoob for daaaays. meat company yada yada. but I was surprised to see a burger tagged with their name on instagram (thanks to the jerky incentive).not only a burger but a good looking burger, did some searching and realized that they had opened up a «patio» restaurant. of course I had to go. and the results were good.
What makes this place so cool is the location, Yo where can I get good ass food? Oh you know, gray ave. SAID NO ONE EVER. Until now.
Pork Back Ribs: The meat is on another level with these. fall off the bone, no struggle whatsoever. Quality, quality, quality which is what you’d expect coming from Shalhoob. ⁴⁄₅
Bourbon Sauce: This is where the overall rib experience took a hit for me. The sauce tasted too condensed to me. the taste of it was decent but it doesn’t take you deep enough to wrap around with the flavor of the meat. ²⁄₅
Bacon Jam Cheeseburger: I chuckle every time someone says the best burger in SB is at The Habit or In n Out (maybe in the fast food category).yellow belly? That leads to a LMAO. pace food + drink? Nah that bun needs a heavy reworking. anyways come here to try the closest thing to a good burger that you will find in SB. Reminded me of The Black Sheep burger in LA A LITTLE. the cheese is melted in perfect form. that black pepper aoli. the BACON JAM. perfect combination. The brioche bun could be revamped and they could work on making sure a medium cooked patty is medium (closer to medium well) but overall you can’t deny that it is good. best thing to happen to Santa Barbara since the Debbie Davison era ended. ⁴⁄₅ (a very solid 4 though)
Tri-​Tip Sandwich: Not a bad choice if you’re not into burgers or ribs. Satisfied, very satisfied with the amount of tri-​tip found in the sandwich compared to other places. Had some hard pulling bites but not many to ruin the sandwich but enough to take away from it a bit. It doesn’t come too saucy but that’s obviously something that you can adjust by just asking for more sauce. 3.5÷5
French Fries: Very good texture, don’t get soggy fast, a tad bit salty but good overall. No special seasoning on them or anything, which could make them next level. 3.5÷5
Onion Rings: Very good as well. Fried right, not under or over. Good quantity in the order, can’t go wrong if you choose these over fries. ⁴⁄₅
Customer service is very cool. Friendly people all around. Atmosphere is nice. relaxing patio seating. very low key, don’t want to be seen by the paparazzi low key (if you’re a celebrity reading this), love it.
You have to really come here, the burger itself is the only reason you need. it’s the best burger that I have had in Santa Barbara (24 years, sorry Be Bop), I’m not into driving 100 miles for a burger all the time, so I am very glad that this place has come to fruition.

great place to get bacon and steaks, lunch there sounds great will try next time. all the people that worked there are super friendly and nice.

This place is incredible! The food is off the charts. The jerky melts in your mouth and the flavors are amazing! I just tried their burger with bacon jam and its unlike anything I’ve ever had! All the flavors packed together on top of the most tender burger Ever! Cooked perfectly! The salad was so fresh with a home made dressing that blew me away. And I can’t forget awesome fluffy bun! I’ll be adding this place to my must visit often list. Can’t wait to try everything!!! Not to mention its a local and family owned business with the most generous business owner I have met!!! They definitely take pride in what they do and yo can taste it. Do yourself a favor and try it out.

The longevity of this place speaks volumes for itself. But the meat will keep you coming back and trying new things. They recently opened the deli which I’ve tried just about everything from the ribs, lj ’ s burger, tri tip sandwhich and chicken tenders which I kinda stole from my son’s leftovers lol anyways, you really can’t go wrong, at some point you’re going to want to try everything because of how good the first thing you taste is. I recommend ljs burger if it’s your first time. You won’t regret it.

I give this place FIVE STARS! I ordered a Tri-​Tip sandwich with fries and it was so delicious! I highly recommend this place and I will be telling everyone to go here! The menu is small but they have a lot of different things to choose from… Simple is better :)
They also have a variety of meats and things that you can buy too! I will be a life long customer because this place is great!!!

Just adding that now we have also bought/​cooked/​enjoyed pork shoulder, braised ribs, ham hock, bacon, filets (which were so wonderful that they were buttery-didn’t need a knife to cut them), rib eyes, and sirloin steaks.
The quality is superb. The meats have such rich flavors. I made a pea soup yesterday using their bacon and ham hocks– I swear it’s the best soup ever. Have made similar recipes before using same ingredients (but not Shalhoob meat) and last night’s was so much better. We think the secret ingredient is the Shalhoob meat.
They now serve lunch too– and have a nice brand new patio outside.

Delicious tri tip we grilled for the 4^th — my friends and family are still talking about it. We are already planning our next BBQ with Shalhoob’s tenderized tri tip! #therewerenoleftovers

I cooked a Shalhoob tri tip tonight… It was great! By accident, Albertsons had a couple of them and had to discount them because they normal don’t carry this brand. «Does anyone know where or what store Von’s, Ralph’s. …carries them»??? I sure would like to buy more of them somewhere in Orange County, Calif. Thanks, Jeff

I found out about this place because of groupon and I’m glad that I did!
I came about 30 minutes before they closed, which, if you want a decent selection, could be limited. (My fault, it was 4^th of July weekend!)
The guy behind the counter was really nice though. He told me that (in general), it’s a good idea to call in ahead to request an order so that they can prep what you want before they start clean up for the day. I was hoping for some carne asada, but they were out.
Instead I browsed through their fridge and got some bacon (thick slices!!), some marinated tri tip and unmarinated tri tip. I had a friend in town, and we cooked the marinated tri tip first. It was delicious! We cooked it just right and the marinade wasn’t overpowering, nor was the meat too salty. I regretted not getting two packs of marinated meat!
I will definitely come back here again, especially when I have guests coming into town.

Where have I been the last 2 years since we moved to SB?
Today was our first visit to Shalhoob’s — and I couldn’t be more impressed, and now obsessed for the place I will go to weekly.
We got:
— 1 lb bacon; oh it’s so delicious. Thick slices & they are so meaty!
— 1 lb Roast beef; sliced perfectly thin for sandwiches. SO TASTY!
— 1 lb Smoked turkey; again, PERFECT SLICES!
— Lots of beef jerky. Been eating this for years, but just from what we pick up at the markets.
This is really the place to come stock up on breakfast supplies, BBQ meats, and everything you’d ever want to put on a sandwich.
