I just had the best massage ever. Scott found and worked out the worst of my sore spots. Definitely going back!

Me and my girlfriend got a Groupon couples massage coupon and made our appointment. The massages were great! My gf’ really liked her massage with Don and shoutout to Hector as well. Our experience was great and I definitely feel looser afterwards, I’m unnaturally knotty and stiff so I’m hoping to go back soon and get even better! Even gave me some advice if I seek any bodywork in the future to help with my stiffer areas. Even gave us some extra truffles when we asked for them: D

A friend gave me a certificate to Sparkling Spa for my birthday and I was SO pleased with the massage. It is hard to find someone who has the perfect amount of pressure and knows just where to focus to get rid of pain and tightness. I was so happy with Scott that I bought a 3-​pack of massages for myself. And the glass of champagne was just an added bonus. Win win!

This was my second visit to the spa. Scott is fantastic. .just the right amount of pressure and so very relaxing. The bonus was Tabitha. she was so welcoming. my husband had Roy and my husband was so relaxed he fell a sleep. .can’t wait for my next visit.

I bought a couples massage on Groupon. First, we had a tough time finding the place, since the name of the spa on Groupon (SOMA Get Fit) didn’t match the name of the spa on the door (Santa Barbara Sparkling Spa). We called the spa for help getting there, but no one answered. We wound up parking blocks away and arriving a bit late. That time came right off the massage, which is to be expected, since another couple showed up as we left.
The spa room was very nice and relaxing. We filled out forms indicating where we were in need of massage. My partner and I both indicated pain in our necks and shoulders. Scott massaged my partner and Jen massaged me. After reading the form, Scott asked my partner if he wanted the whole 60 minutes on his back and shoulders, which is what he got. My partner loved his massage and found it to be deep and therapeutic.
I advised Jen I would be happy to have my whole massage on my neck and shoulders, and that I preferred it very deep. Honestly, the massage felt more Swedish in nature and I was just frustrated when she flipped me over and did my arms and legs, hands and feet. FINALLY, she got to my neck and I told her I had been waiting the whole massage for her to get to my sore, aching neck. No lie… she stroked it ONE TIME and that was it. The massage was over.
My partner left in ecstasy, totally relaxed. I left, as sore as when I came in, and bummed out. Nothing is worse than a rotten massage from a therapist that is just going through the motions and not listening to your words or your body.
My 3 stars is an average — 5 for Scott and 1 for Jen. I should say I found Jen to be a very nice person, but she just didn’t pay attention to what I wrote or said to her.

The Santa Barbara Sparkling Spa is awesome! They have an incredible team of massage therapists and a beautiful space in downtown Santa Barbara overlooking State Street.
I have been going to Scott for over a year because he is a highly skilled deep tissue massage therapist and always takes into consideration my specific problem areas. His level of expertise and professionalism is outstanding. I am thrilled that he is now in this new space that is so well managed.
The Santa Barbara Sparkling Spa has a high level of customer care and is clearly focused on having satisfied customers and repeat clients. They are accommodating of my work schedule, always create a relaxing environment, check in with me about specific problem areas before each massage, and consistently give an incredible massage, no matter how late in the day. They are also highly communicative and send reminders the day before appointments.
The space itself is also really nice — modern, casual, clean, comfortable, and decorated with super fun artwork. The level of pride and attention to detail that goes into the space and the practice is clear, and I’m so glad I happened into this place a year ago.

My wife and I purchased a couples massage groupon and our massages were given by Jen and Hector.
Facility —
The space and ambiance were very nice. Everything felt, smelled, and looked very clean. The building and location had a great feel and we enjoyed our short wait and the customer service. The champagne was great but I did note that our groupon include chocolate truffles that did not materialize. Not a big deal I point it out to be fair. We also added on the Tiger balm and warm towels option. (i highly recommend this additional add on)
Massages —
speaking for my massage, Hector was amazing. I have experienced well over 100 massages and Hector gave the best massage I’ve experienced to date. I was able to fully relax! He gave the massage precisely at the firmness level I requested and his technique was extremely good. I felt amazing after and on into the evening.
speaking for my wife’s massage, Jen was good. My wive has similarly experienced many massages. She did feel the massage was good but unfortunately left still feeling as if her target areas (as described in the pre-​massage questionnaire and in speaking with Jen before the massage) had not been worked out. She specifically asked to have her shoulder, shoulder blades, and upper back to be concentrated on as she felt she had many knots. When she left she felt like she had a good massage but that the target areas hadn’t been hit as well as she had hoped.
Overall —
Both Jen and Hector were extremely courteous and the massages were great. We are definitely interested in making the drive back to Santa Barbra from LA just to have these massages again.

I received a couples massage groupon as a wedding gift, and while it took a while to get in, it was definitely a very nice gift! Because of my frequent travel schedule for work, and SBSS having a wait time of 2 – 3 weeks, I kept calling and not being able to get an appointment. However, Scott was finally able to help me once the company changed management. He was very good at keeping in touch about our appointment, and working to find something that fit our schedule. Jen and Hector were our massage therapists, and I was so grateful that Hector speaks Spanish, since my husband’s English is not great yet. We both enjoyed the relaxing massage, and Jen made sure to pay extra attention to an area that I pointed out ahead of time. We got the Tiger Balm heat pack, which was only $ 10 extra for each of us and really increased the soothing effect on our tense muscles!

My boyfriend and I booked a couples massage here on the day that we moved out of Santa Barbara, and there was no better way to leave paradise. Santa Barbara Sparkling Spa has a very welcoming and relaxing ambiance, with a balcony overlooking state street, and some bubbly ready to greet you.
As for the massages, they were incredible and much better than what we had at Massage Envy! What could have been the most stressful day was very relaxing (for at least part of it), thanks to Scott and Hector. Both were very skilled, and knew exactly how much strength to apply for difficult spots. Sore necks, backs, and calves were all expertly massaged away, and the heated blankets, pads, and tiger balm were added bonuses. Only complaint was that we wanted more of massage bliss!
The couples massage is an absolute steal, and if we were staying in the area longer, we’d definitely go back. Now that we’re on the hunt for a new massage place at our new location, we have very high standards and other spas will have a lot to live up to thanks to Santa Barbara Sparkling Spa.

Got a couples massage from Jen and Hector, who were great! They really listened to our needs and gave us some great advice afterward about maintaining our seriously wound up bodies. There were moments when Jen was massaging me and I wondered why that spot would need attention, until she hit a big muscle knot that I didn’t even know existed! I guess I carry my stress everywhere! The big shark amuses me and the patio overlooking State is a pretty fun vantage point. The electric blanket was a first but it made me wonder why I haven’t had it before! Give Tabitha a pet if she’s there because she is an adorable dog. I hope I can make it back soon!

Wow! My husband and I just received a couples massage from Jen and Scott and it was fantastic. Normally, when you ask a masseuse for a deep massage they just add a little pressure, not here. They get into every knot, muscle and pressure point. We walked out floating on air.
It’s a very nice space overlooking state street and the bubbly was a nice touch. We already booked another appt.
The only tip I will offer is to get there a little early to find parking. We scoped it out ahead a of time and parked in the parking structure around the corner.

Amazing new venue from a veteran Sports and Physical therapist «bar none…» Scott Crawford creates and recreates amazing comfortable venues coupled with whimsical atmosphere and the very best treatments available in Santa Barbara. It does not get any better… enjoy.

Customer service is not completely dead. Scott, the owner of Sparkiling Spa, was very apologetic and went to great lengths to correct the terrible experience I had trying to set up my service. I had an amazing massage from him. The place is adorable and he listened and took action to correct the booking problems that I brought to his attention. So I will be going to see him again in the future. I love when businesses realize the importance of customer service and Scott definitely does. Thank you again. And by the way the products they use are amazing! My skin is so soft!

Scott is an expert. An absolute profession. I highly recommend him to all my friends and family. His massages are second to none and his place is serene and relaxing while still in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. I have had massages at massage envy and other brand names like that and have never got the style of treatment that Scott brings to the table.literally. Just finished my second massage and he continued to give me relief throughout my entire body. Consider yourself lucky running across this page. Call him now and meet your maker. Amazing. The location is incredibly convenient. The relaxing patio is perfect for people watching on State Street. And the massage… the best massage in this town. I highly recommend!!!

Another great spa location! The décor here is so bright and fun and inviting, with a 2^nd floor suite overlooking Street, it’s a relaxing view to enjoy before and after a great massage. Fresh tropical breezes wafting in while getting great massage on a warm table make for a great and unique experience.

Every time I think it can’t get any better, Scott surprises me! It is hard to imagine that combining Scott’s unbeatable expertise as a massage therapist and brilliant body work could be made an even better experience by the location of this spa. I grew up in Santa Barbara and when walking up State Street, I would wonder, who is so lucky to sit on the second story balconies and enjoy the street from above. Now I can say it is me. Go have a massage and enjoy State Street from above. You will not be disappointed.

This is the best facility, ambiance and massage. I love the location and my holistic therapeutic treatment with Scott Crawford has helped me physically. I have had numerous operations (knee, spleen etc) my best recovery has been going to Scott; he knows how to treat my aliments in my body. I totally recommend this wonderful treatment facility. It is so relaxing to overlook State Street after a massage and experience this tranquil environment.

Finally haha… I know Scott has moved locations a few times since the last time I went for a massage, but I know the next time I go to get one it won’t be with anyone else (and I’m long overdue!)… If I could give him 6 stars, I would! I love the relaxing benefit of massages, but my neck and back pain are the main reasons I get them. I’ve had so many massages in the past and probably have tried ten different places since I’ve been in the Santa Barbara area. Without a doubt, Scott gave me THE BEST massage to date. Not were both his personality and the atmosphere warm and welcoming, but the massage was PERFECT. Scott was able to give me the relaxing feel of a massage while also addressing all my aches and pains better than anyone else ever has. In my experience, when I mention my back and neck pain to others they work on those areas just a little longer and then move on to complete the full body massage by the end of the hour. Scott actually listens and explains what areas he’s working on and why. My back has never felt better.
