Ben Siebert, founder of Planet Solar, installed his first solar system in 1983. Now, nearly three decades later, Ben’s company is a leader in the solar installation industry. From single-​family homes to institutional projects to the largest affordable housing solar projects in the nation, Planet Solar is one of the most experienced and fastest growing installation companies in the US. Business Owner

President and CEO Ben Siebert founded Save American Energy in 1983, installing energy efficiency measures in homes and multi-​family properties funded by the state of California, efficiency measures in homes and multi-​family properties funded by the state of California, overseen by the CPUC and administered by the public utility companies (exactly analogous to the CSI Program). In 1994, he invented and patented a line of low-​energy consumption lighting and built a company around those patents, selling lighting products in 15 countries. Since then, he spent 4 years living off-​grid, using self designed solar electric systems and a wind generator, and began designing and installing solar electrical systems for others. Ben has been in the construction trades since childhood, is a licensed general and solar contractor in California and Florida as well as a commercial pilot, US Coast Guard Licensed Captain, Certified Rescue Diver, and musician.
